Hello everyone, I know this is probably a weird topic for a fantasy forum, but Do any of you guy write anything that's not fantasy? Truth be told out of all 12 books I have going only 1 of them is fantasy. The rest are modern fiction! Ana |

I recently switched from fantasy to science fiction. I started a historical novel once, but it was more psuedo-historical I think. I used to write historical fiction short stories for school but they weren't very good. Besides blurring the line between fantasy and science fiction (like I did with my novella Tia's World) I've done one biblical short story, a heap of non fiction humorous anecdotes which my readers love and I hate, and one... maybe two modern fiction short stories. |

I've done a couple of short stories that are fiction, but most of my "book projects" are fantasy, depending on how your definition. Come to think of it, almost all my writing had some fantasy element or another. @Janin: Lightning Ranger is fantasy, correct? |

I have written a few different genres. My first story was a horse fiction based on horse's POV's, I've written a few fantasy stories, one more medieval/fantasy, and I am working on a historical novella/novel based in the Victorian Era--tentatively. ^^ |

Me. I write nearly all science fiction. Just look at my signature. As I say, I write anything that involves explosions. |

Strangely for me, I had not only never read, watched, or written anything fantasy, I had no desire to. I must have had a least a dozen modern day adventure and horse novels in mind yet. When I started writing The Secret Forest I had no idea that four pages into it I would be writing about talking dogs. Figures I'd now be swamped with fantasy ideas. I guess I just fell in love with medieval weapons. |

My love is divided between fantasy and sci-fi. I think the division is fairly equal, but I'm told by a friend that I have a "sci-fi vibe," so perhaps sci-fi is actually my specialty and I don't realize it yet. However, I'm currently writing a lot of modern fiction. Most of my screenplays are modern-day, because that is the cheapest genre to film. |

I am currently writing an historical novel, Ana. I am most comfortable with writing historical fiction so it is what I like to do most. |

I write anything except modern type stories set in the real world. Besides fantasy I've dabbled in Western, sci-fi, Historical fiction, fairy tales, satires, post-apocalyptic, and crossovers of all of the above. |

I have my fantasy book (which now has a prequel, apparently... *points at siggy* ) which I have finished the rough draft. That aside, however, I do have a very strong idea for a modern fiction novel, which I actually haven't begun writing but have planned some. I also have a historical fiction trilogy planned, which focuses on a Jewish family in Europe; but that is far in the future, if ever. Just some sort of shadowy plan, I guess. eruheran |

Yeah... actually, though I've a fantasy world called Sumtymz (I know, so... unoriginal Hope this isn't off-topic, but a BRILLIANT book for anyone wanting to go more into the Whys and Wherefores and Hows and basically get a boost in poetry writing is a book by Mary Elizabeth called Painless Poetry. I've been going through it and doing the 'brain ticklers' and it has really helped both my rhyme and meter and understanding of how poetry works... and it's helped extraordinarily with word music in my prose. (Never knew my brain was so... ticklish |
