Yeah, I hope it keeps up steam.

...when you keep a detailed timeline of the events in your book solely to save your sanity.

...when your timelines are changed often because you decide it's more suspenseful that way and you sometimes wish you could do the same with your history textbooks. XD

(Even if the thread slows down, I'm going to keep coming back and reading all the old posts I haven't seen yet. :D)

Hm, I don't know what that is, other than what I can guess from the rather obvious name. (It's really cool, though ;) )

You know you're a crazy Jesus freak fantasy writer when...
-When you give your lighted box (cell phone) to your MC, so she can text your friend's MC, an Elf. Eventually, she starts evangelizing him. :D

-You constantly point out things in real life that relate to jokes in your book. (It's teal! Why is it called that? Why not... 'bluish-green'?)

-You constantly quote your characters, especially the one who replaces the "right" word with another word. ("You are erupting my work. Protruding upon my piracy.")

-When you have theme songs not only for your characters, but also for your plot, events in your book, events in your life, and your friends.

-When you want to eat a stew sandwich because your characters do it.

-When you can add to this list.

When you spend half an hour at the library when they have a book sale because you're weeding through all of the fantasy books to find the good ones. (Honestly, most of them were a third in a series or Wiccan indulgence stories).

When you spend half an hour at the library at all. :D

When you buy an English Composition book from 1925 because you want to see what's changed.

When you plan on teaching your children through said book.

That's all? Only a half hour? That's far too short an amount of time! XD (Ahem. I usually spend about...two hours at the library. More if I could.)

LOL, mine too--though if in equal business to yours, I've no idea, of course. Still, I make it a point to spend a good deal of time at the library. I tend to come home with more books than I can read in the allotted time, however. XD

...when you buy an antique manual typewriter that's probably fifty years old at an estate sale for $5, lug the thirty-pound thing into your room, and make it a main decoration (since it doesn't have a ribbon).

*hugs today's find* ^_^ ^_^ Oh, and...
...when the idea of a hugging a typewriter seems perfectly normal to you.

- When your best friends are fantasy characters from your novels, and they are the only ones you trust with your secrets.

- When you convince little kids at your writing co-op that a dragon lives in your backyard (whoops... sorry, kids, you can't meet him...).

- When you and your two friends' ideas of fun is to dress up in medieval costumes and play pranks on neighbors.

LOL My sister did that to my little brother. She had him convinced that Toothless was living on her college campus. XD

You know you're a crazy fantasy writer when...

You walk around acting out parts of your story all day long, with out even realizing that you are talking out loud.

You find you are the only one talking when your friends get on the subject of fantasy.

You carry HUGE stacks of paper and notebooks and drawings and maps and markers, if you carry any at all.

 No idea if someone else already said these. xD

- When you convinced your brother when you were younger that there was a portal in the forest across the railroad tracks in your backyard, and you went out every night and helped save these other worlds (Alagaesia from Eragon; planets from Star Wars; etc) from disaster.

- When you spend hours staring at the clouds waiting for a dragon to appear in them.

- When you speak in some sort of accent (like Aragorn's) at all times, and tell people things like, "I would cut off your head, Dwarf, if it stood but a little higher from the ground"...

- When you collect swords.

BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

You know you're a crazy fantasy writer when...

All of your drawings are linked in at least one small way to your story.

You tend to ruin a lot of stories for your little brother or friends, by tearing them apart from top to bottom - from writing style to story structure.

Your bedroom walls are covered in drawings of scenes in your stories.

All of the kings you dream up tend to look suspiciously like Aragorn.

When you're traveling, you're always terribly torn between traveling light so you could dash off anywhere at a moment's notice, and bringing everything that could be useful in the long list of situations you've thought up.

When you buy a new bag and immediately make sure it's appropriately notebook-sized.
When you can't watch a movie without figuring out how everything is going to play out beforehand. I must be so annoying to watch movies with, because I'm always saying things like "oh! This is where they'll find so-and-so." Because I just know that that's how I would have done it.

When you get all excited about someone else's writing. My little sister wrote a story for school that contained the phrase "It's the simple matter of avoiding portal patches." I'm very proud. And happy. And perhaps more excited about her potential genius than I should be.

- When you wake up at 4 am with new pieces of plot
- When you're so excited about your plot line that when you tell a friend, you're voice keeps raising and so does theirs and you realize they're super excited about it too
- When random words or names spark new ideas for characters, plot, or ideas
- When your husband is SOOO so tired of hearing about the novel you haven't even finished yet and rolls his eyes at the mention of it
- When you seek out hard constructive criticism instead of letting your grandparents build up your ego hehe
- When you do crazy amounts of research to make your novel believable, even though it's fantasy and part of fantasy is how unbelievable it all is...
- When you spend 3 hours drawing mountains on your fantasy map for your story

LOL and 'Amen' to all of these.

I didn't read all of this thread, there's just so much, but what I did read was so true! Here's some I thought of. I hope I'm not repeating, but here they are:

You know you're a crazy fantasy writer when . . .

You brainstorm ideas for a school paper based on the things you're planning on researching for your book.

You convince your mom to do your yearly pictures in medieval costumes just so you can have an excuse to make one.

Your favorite pastime is/was acting out scenes from Narnia with your sisters.

You love writing fantasy because you can throw a million different time periods together and it works.

And these are all true.

you sometimes wish you lived in that time.
when you set aside time to work on your pieces.
when you start drawing your characters and your mythical creatures.
when you want to create a room in your house to be the world that which your writing.
when you want to start collecting medieval figurines, create your own coat of arms, and flags.
when you start to draw out your kingdom.
when your mind gets preoccupied with ideas that pop into your head, and you quickly jot them down on index cards.
when you think the stone like necklace you have looks like a phoenix prism in your book.
when you love that genre of which you write.
when you are asleep and you are dreaming in the land of which your story takes place
when you want to get your hands on anything fantasy, or watch Narnia over and over again.
when you watch and study medieval time movies and take notes.
when this list can go on and on and on and on..........
