There's too much to say to begin.



-You google pictures and artwork of the Evenstar and spend hours trying to figure out how to make one from modeling clay.

You have a model of the Evenstar that a friend got you

You are mad when you dress up as Arwen, and NO ONE knows who you are, even with said necklace.

You want posters of Tolkien's maps with the journeys of The Hobbit and LotR when a friend gets tired of them.

You name your stuffed animals after LotR chraracters.

That's because it's movie!Arwen. Hee hee hee....

No one knew her from either! I told them who I was, and I got blank looks. Of course, it could have been where I was...

In Raleigh, North Carolina. It was in my grandmother's old neighborhood. Still, I was rather surprised. (My Aunt lives in the middle of nowhere in South Georgia, and she know who that is.) No offense to anyone is intended.

-You read this LotR spoof, and smile, if not laugh, doing so.

-Your last minute costume is from LotR.

-It ticks you off when people say LotR names wrong, because you say them the way Tolkien said them.

You know you're a Tolkien fan if you spent fifty dollars on a Trivial Pursuit game, before realizing that you already knew every single question.

...when you buy LOTR Trivial Pursuit used for $3 and are upset because it's missing the ring.

...when you ask your friends if they've read The Lord of the Rings, and if they say yes, you then ask them how many times.

Okay, that one is funny. I'm going to have to do that.

And your friends knowing that you are a Tolkien nut is bad because.....

If you meet someone in Real Life who has read the Silmarillion (and loves it) then you instantly become their best friend, even if you might've not liked them much before.

Ah books, the great icing between oreo cookies; the kind with one vanilla cookie and one chocolate one, because they normally wouldn't have been friends, but the icing holds them together to make a delicous snack.....

Ummmm, I'm leaving now.

I've read the books at least twice, but I've never gotten through the Silmarillion.

(You know you're a Tolkien fan when you think eating the aforementioned cookies while curled up with the Lord of the Rings on a rainy day with nothing on your school schedule for a week is pure bliss.)

I want so badly to read every manuscript that Christopher Tolkien has. He's hinted that there's a lot of material he hasn't touched yet.

- You enter an Interior Design class and try to figure out how to make a room look like your impression of Rohan culture.

- You spot a wedding dress that looks Elven, and plan on wearing it sometime in the future.

- You love that your art teacher's dog is named Theoden, and wish that yours was Eowyn.

-When a sibling or your dog tries to do something behind your back, you glare at them and say "Do you think the eyes of the white tower are blind?"

-You try to write a history paper based off of the APPENDICES of Lord of the Rings.

-They're no longer potatoes in your home, they are taters, precious.

-When someone you don't enjoy the company of asks if you want to hang out you say "how about Friday the first?"

-Whenever you cough it comes out as g-ollum.

-You never watch another movie with Orlando Bloom, Domenic Monaghan, or John Reese Davis again because they're never quite the same.

-You take a shower after reading the Sam/Frodo bits of Return of the King...

I've actually done that. Quite a bit. Hehe.

Now that was funny.

You're not scared of spiders but you find a fear of them rational.

-Good one, I like that for an excuse. (I do not like spiders, Shelob in particular.)

-You shudder at your Dad's suggestion you take home a giant spider shaped balloon, paint it with glow in the dark paint, and hang it above your bed to remind you of said creepy giant spider who happens to be giant and creepy. (Redundancy intended )

And then you don't get why they start laughing.

LOL! In my home, the quote "boil 'em, mash 'em, stick 'em in a stew" is a common line.

You know you're a Tolkien fan when you've designed your wedding dress after Arwen's. (despite not having marriage anywhere in your forseeable future. )

Oh yes, I like, am totally designing my wedding dress after Arwen's, I mean that's like totally beautiful. JK!

You dream you are in the stories with no plot variations WHATSOEVER.

You used to think Hand Sanitizer was made from kingsfoil. (don't ask. )

You have a bunch of big sticks sitting in the garage waiting to be carved and stained into wizard staffs.

When you sadly realize that you will never own a signed copy of Lord of the Rings (or any other Tolkien work)

You pinch your ears every day hoping to make them look like elf ears.

Or if you do all kinds of research on LotR costuming sites about how to make elf ears. (it's doable, ya know! )

OR you have seriously considered plastic surgery to give yourself permanent elf ears.

(double points if you haven't given up the idea despite being told that your ears will turn black and fall off. )
