@Amanda- Oh yes, I just finished that one. The action was very fun, and the ending was very satisfactory. What did you think of it? I really like Matthias.

I found it enjoyable, even if I was slightly grossed out at the end when he squished Cluny under the bell. (that could've been a result of my over active imagination...) I quite liked Matthias too - he was a good character. :D I do wonder how Martin knew that Matthias would come along and need his sword and all that, though...

I think he thought Matthias was going to be a sort of prodigy. I especially like the part where Matthias married, 'twas very sweet.

Yah, that was sweet. :D Although it messed me up - I had thought that Matthias was no more than 15 (human years, I don't know how they do ages in the Redwall world). Just goes to show once again how bad I am at guessing ages. XD

Redwall is probably my favorite of the Redwall books.

I just got back from the library with a small stack of books including The Rangers Apprentice and 3 of the kingdom books I haven't read. They're short so I should breeze through them pretty quick.

And the font is big; I can read an average of four ELB.
(that is; four every lord of the rings book... it's how I measure time)

-God bless

I've been reading a couple books at a time now... nonfiction while I'm upstairs, then fiction later when I go to my room.

And I was told to take a break from the dragon books :P At least I had just finished the ones I was planning on reading.

Well now I just got the reading I must do for school next year, I'm going to public school; first time ever! My mother has five other kids to school... I last year... it didn't go too well! Anyway...
To the cheese;
I have to stop reading the books I was reading before, now I had to read treasure island (which I am done with), and another book.

I didn't read all last week because of camp... but I do have a couple books to add soon. It's just that my Narnia books are all in one volume, so I'm going to read them all before I try to add pages to my total; same with the Circle Trilogy.

Hey! I'm reading the lost books! Those are the same "world" as the circle aren't they?

I've reread some Sigmund Brouwer (awesome author :D ) and read some of his that I've never read before. I just finished Timeline by Michael Crichton (a great book if you can get past the language and gore). Now I'm rereading the Silmarillion. :D

I haven't read any of his recent stuff. (except perhaps a few of the Accidental Detectives, I'm not sure how old/new some of them are)

I just read maze runner! A school book. It was pretty good! He had a comma splice or two and forgot to put a period at the end of a sentence. And not to mention all of the overuse of sentence fragments and one word sentences. Overall though; it was REALLY good! Very good writing overall! :dieshappy:

Since Esther was born several days after the reading contest started, we (Eliza the Tiger, Lady Miarra and I) have not been able to keep very good track of our reading... :P so, unfortunately, we will be withdrawing from the contest. :( (Sorry, I was doing a little moderating work on another forum, and apparently I got stuck in moderator mode... :D)

The Rainbow in the Storm- My Blog

Be careful of your thoughts; guard your mind, for your thoughts become words. Be guarded when you speak, for your words turn into action. Watch what you do, for your actions will become habits. Be wary of your habits, for they become your character. Pray over your character; strive to mold it to the image of Christ, because your character will shape your destiny.

Ideas can germinate from the smallest seeds. Collect those seeds, and let them grow in the back of your mind. You may be surprised by what finally blooms.

When God takes something from your grasp, he's not punishing you. Instead, He’s opening your hands to receive something better. The will of God will never take you where the Grace of God will not protect you.

Works in progress:

The Diegosian Mark, 115,600 words (Preparing for Publication)
The Diegosian Rider, 121,400 words (Finished)
The Diegosian Warrior, 15,000 (In Progress)

Aw, you don't have to withdraw, Carissa. You can drop out without withdrawing. Just post one book that you know you've read and you're still in. No keeping track required. :D

At last, I have posted my totals. It's been far harder to find time to read than I thought it would be, so my progress has been about a twentieth of what I would have liked it to be. :P But we'll see how things go in these next couple days. :D

Good. Because I recently was part of a conversation that went like this:

"Should we include Jay in this discussion?"
"I don't think we can if he wants to remain eligible for prizes."
"He's not going to be eligible for prizes anyway if he doesn't post a book in the next few days."

Last call, people! If you haven't read Philadelphia's announcement on the official Readathon thread then do so now! Tomorrow is your last day, so be sure to get your page count in! Also, please be advised that if you win a prize you will need to provide me with your address. More details about the protocol of claiming prizes will come after the contests conclusion.

I've read this one and Flight of Shadows, now. I'd say not to bother with The Canary List, though... it's kinda weird :?

In what way?

In that the FMC was a young girl who could sense if someone was demon possessed, and the Vatican's Chief Exorcist wanted to use her ability to do so to find which cardinals were possessed and keep them from becoming the pope. And basically he was manipulating the appointment (or whatever you call it) of the new pope to benefit himself.
