What a great thread, Ana! I found so many of them funny, and I was amazed at some of them. Here's some to add:

200,000 sheets of gold leaf, a very thin hammered piece of gold, can only make a stack an inch high, while that many sheets of paper would be five stories high!

500 billion trillion atoms can be found in one teaspoon of water!

The termite is the most flatulent animal.

TYPEWRITER, is the longest word that can be made using the letters on only one row of the keyboard.

Hippopotomonstrosesquippedaliophobia is the fear of long words.

A snail can sleep for 3 years.

More people are killed by donkeys annually than are killed in plane crashes.

A full seven percent of the entire Irish barley crop goes to the production of Guinness beer.

In the 1983 film "JAWS 3D" the shark blows up. Some of the shark guts were the stuffed ET dolls being sold at the time.

Shakespeare invented the word "assassination" and "bump."

Marilyn Monroe had six toes on one foot.

You know that you are more likely to be killed by a champagne cork than by a poisonous spider.

If you yelled for 8 years, 7 months and 6 days, you would have produced enough sound energy to heat one cup of coffee.

If Barbie were life-size her measurements would be 39-23-33. She would stand seven feet, two inches tall and have a neck twice the length of a normal human's neck.

“A man who was merely a man and said the sort of things Jesus said would not be a great moral teacher. He would either be a lunatic-on the level with the man who says he is a poached egg-or else he would be the Devil of Hell. You must make your choice. Either this man was, and is, the Son of God: or else a madman or something worse. You can shut Him up for a fool, you can spit at Him and kill Him as a demon; or you can fall at His feet and call Him Lord and God. Slugs have shells, they're just on the inside of their body. o.O

Metal shrinks when it's cold, that's why the Eiffel tower is 6 inches shorter in winter.

Gloucestershire airport in England used to blast Tina Turner songs on the runways to scare birds away.

If you toss a penny 10,000 times, it will not be heads 5,000 times, but more like 4,950. The heads picture weighs more, so it ends up on the bottom.

More than 6,000 people with pillow-related injuries check into U.S. emergency rooms every year!

The Mona Lisa has no eyebrows.

Well I feel like I have barely given any facts. :P This was just a quick rack of the brain. ;)

Here are some weird facts from one of my animal books, Animals Large and Small:

The blue whale weighs 143 tons, which is as much as 4 brontosaurs, 20 elephants, 180 cows, or 1,600 men.

A blue whale calf weighs 4,440 pounds at birth.

The smallest deer, the lesser Malay mouse deer, is only eight inches tall and has long pointed canine teeth that make it look like a vampire.

The bird with the largest wingspan is the wandering albatross, with a wingspan of 13 feet.

The biggest amphibian is the giant salamander, which is around five feet long.

The longest earthworm can be around 50 feet long.

The giant African snail can be over one foot long.

Cool Dog Facts:

Great Danes are not actually Danish. They're actually a German Mastiff. Shouldn't they be called Great Germs then? :)

Bloodhounds ears actually help them track better, because the ears flapped around on the ground and bring the smells up to their nose.

Bloodhound's forehead wrinkles flap down when they are tracking to help them concentrate on the ground.

West Highland White Terriers were bred to have strong tails so hunters could grab the tail to pull them out of holes when they got stuck. :D

I'll think of some more later! :D
