Greetings! I'm a devoted writer, screenwriter, and editor, as well as a home-based business owner selling paper-crafts and fiber arts. I love to create and to encourage others to create. That's me in a nutshell. :D

I heard about this site through some good friends, and I'm thrilled to be here among all you writerly types. I'm nuts, so we should get along nicely. ;)

(Thanks again to Jay for helping me figure out the issues with my account!)

Welcome! We have creativity, good discussion, and off topicness right here, so enjoy! :D Nice name, by the way!

*Colorful umbrellas form the words "Welcome to Holy Worlds (Fantasy!), Heri Mami!*

If you would like to grab an avatar, I will offer one made by Elanhil, if he doesn't mind. (Let me know, Elanhil. And care for a cookie? ;))

Thanks much!

I would greatly appreciate an avatar if someone has one to offer. :) I don't have anything suitably dark ages, and I'm not that great with GIMP! I saw some of the avatar-related threads in the other section, but I was having trouble sorting out what was still active and who was who and the cookies and all of that. :D

Well, he offered it, so http://www.holyworlds.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=35&t=1018&hilit=+free+avatar&sid=09b1653309003eba8281f2b9644efc88. He fixed the link further down the page. I don't know how to make that at all... If I had time to ponder it... :)

Welcome friend. I give everyone abbreviated names, so do you mind terribly if I just call you Heri?

There are lots of creative juices going on around here, so make yourself right at home. If you are into editing stuff you can go search around the story excerpts.

Avatars creators are in abundance around here, whether you make them yourself (lots of us do that) or have someone else do them (the only person who really offers his services is Seer. If you create an essence map then you could go to White Raven, and Elanhil is just getting started). We could get you set up with one no problem.

If you are looking for good, profitable discussions there are plenty to be had all over the place. There is also quite a bit of goofiness mixed in.

I'm not really good with the crazy over welcoming tradition that generally ensues around here, so I simply say welcome and enjoy your stay.

Welcome to Holy Worlds, Heri! It sounds like you'll fit in quite nicely around here, there's plenty of us nuts. Just be prepared for some really exotic ideas, random thoughts, and lots of constructive insanity. :D

Just out of curiosity, what does the title of your thread mean? Is it a question in another language?

Oh, and just so you know, all threads are open (even if they're ancient) unless they are archived. Jay likes to keep even old threads open. So don't be afraid to pull old, dusty threads off the shelf and post in them. :D

Colorful umbrella, Shawn? Wow, you're getting creative. And I thought dive-bombing, cucumber-bearing penguins were weird...

Heri, do you like fireworks?

Hehe... yes, I have been known to cause explosions and occasionally singe peoples' hair. :D

If you're looking for an avatar, you're welcome to any of these. I was just fiddling around with a couple pictures in Photoshop. Ya'll can feel free to use them if you want.

Rachel!!!!

Yeah, I know, I don't even know you that well, but hey! Someone else from CF.org! Inside jokes are in abundance both here and there and I keep getting them mixed up...

Elanhil is our new avatar maker. He's looking for people to ask him to make an avatar. Go ask him. :D

I'm out of silliness I'm afraid. I think I'm getting the cold my family's been sick with for two weeks and I'm dreading it. *scared* It kind of dampens my creativity.

Oh, evensong, I love your avatar too!!!

Just be sure to keep your germs to yourself, I don't want to catch them, plus, I can't. If we get sick it affects Samuel, and he can't get sick with all of his issues!

Welcome! Hopefully you'll enjoy HW but it looks like you'll fit in around here. That's the nice thing: everyone is strange, so everyone feels normal when they are among stranger people. At least that's how everyone makes me feel. :D

Thanks, everyone! I appreciate it. One of my good friends (I'm not sure what her username is here) promised to come and "pounce" on my welcome thread later. :)

People are always altering my real name and my nicknames; there's 3 or more versions of very name I am associated with. So no, I don't mind; I'll answer to anything that's remotely recognizable. :D

Yes, "apa kabar?" means, essentially, "what's up?" in bahasa Indonesia... Indonesian Language!

Fireworks are good... at a safe distance. We were in a new location for the 4 of July fireworks this year, and there were pieces of scorched firework wrapper raining down. Seriously. It was an experience! :D

All of the avatars are lovely, Evening... I especially like the brown butterfly wing. I think I will use it for the time being, since you most kindly offered. Thank you so much!

Janin/Katie!! I know you well enough that I understand what your usename means... does that count for anything? :) And you have all of my sympathies... I just got over a cold that lasted about 2 weeks. :(

I can't decide now. I like Elanhil's abstract avatars too. But Evening's brown butterly wing is my color...

You could tell Elanhil what you'd like for an avatar and maybe he could create something for you. Give him a challenge!

I could make a brownish one for you if you want, but I'd need an essence map or some other outline of your username. If not, I may capture an entirely different image than what you are looking for. :) If you are wondering what an essence map is, look here. *looks at cookie, inches towards it* Or, if you just want one with the smoky lights, I'm thinking of just doing those with color requests and others like White Ravens with a map.

I was in the process of typing a post on your other thread, Sir Elanhil! Thanks for the offer. :D I love brown, but I like blue equally well, if that helps. Gray and green are nice, too!

I might be able to do an essence map. I say "might," because previously when I've tried to do essence, I've ended up doing something else. I get a map - a very nice complicated map - but it's more of a mind map.

However, I was looking at your thread, and I like the abstract avatar you posted. I like the swirls, as well as the star center. (I am thoroughly "into" light/star/space designs.) I was thinking, if you could make something abstract that's light/star/swirly like the sample avatar, I could use it for both this forum and the sci-fi one. Maybe something that's blue/gray in color scheme, with white light (vs. yellow light)? Is that enough information to go on? Thanks so much!

And... I changed my username. I know, I just got here, but I figured it was better to do it now before I had made many posts than to wait until later. I want my username to be the same here as on the sci-fi forum, so I decided to take something more middle-of-the-road. Sorry about that! (I am nuts, might as well prove it right out of the gate...)

I still answer to my other nickname, as need be. :D

Yes, indeed! Almond, Peanut, and there's a Pistachio, too. A trio of friends that, for some reason, managed to get a unique set of nicknames just for the purpose. :D Don't ask me how this happens...

But hey, username changes are fun. Just ask Luke the Mindweilder.

Oh, goodness. You're a bunch of nuts.

:D

Glad you like my butterfly avatar. :D I had a ton of butterfly pictures from a visit to one of those really hot glass houses where it smells like green plants and old bananas. :D

Good boy, George. *pats his nose and gives him a cucumber* Anyways, now you've seen my fireworks show. Welcome again! :D

Sowry, Katie. :D

I told you I was nuts, Evening! I forgot to explain how literal it was, though... :D

That was the best fireworks show ever! (And that's saying something, because this year's Independence Day shows were good.) :D Thanks! Your dragon likes cucumbers?

Oh thanks! I made it myself. I found the horse picture, re-sized and cropped it, then I added the sparkles on GIMP. :D

LEEAAHHH!! Bad Leah. You didn't tell me you got your account. ::pouts:: Now I'll have to really pounce on you.

**Penguins and unicorns start falling from the sky. A pegasus swoops down and lands next to Rachel. Then a dragon. Then a griffen. Then all three pick her up and put her on the back of a unicorn. The penguins run around shouting "Welcome to Holy Worlds!" One leads the unicorn around.**

Craziest thing I could think of in a short amount of time. :D Now I shall go pounce on you in Gmail... :D

I couldn't tell you yesterday, you weren't on! And your sister didn't call me. I claim innocence, here!

Wow. I am awed. That is utterly amazing. What color unicorn is it? :)

And I'm not signed into that gmail account right now, my apologies. ;)

TRAITOR!!!!

You were supposed to tell me!

Sorry I couldn't call, my grandma was over so I was entertaining her while working on my knitting machine...

You're supposed to use your ::other:: name on here. ;) Lady Leah Loraine Longsway III. ;D Puh-lease? If I can be Mel, then you can most definitely be Leah. :D

And I'm Pistachio, guys. :D

Here I was, thinking y'all would like to be SURPRISED. You know, pleasant unexpected turn of events? My foolishness. Guess I should learn. Didn't work when I joined CF, either... you found me on the new member list before I could post and surprise you. :( Poor Leah...

I thought about using that nickname (which as far as you're concerned might as well be my real name), but as of yet it isn't a username on any site so... wasn't sure. Maybe I'll change it later and through everyone for a loop. :D

That made me laugh, Airianna!

And "Lady Leah Loraine Longsway III" won't fit. ;) At least not in its entirety.

I am surprised! Surprised you joined so soon, and surprised you didn't tell me. ;D No, I know you have another name... just can't remember what it is... :D :D (I think I'm kidding... :D)

Oh... :( Maybe you could just do Lady Leah Cubed, or something. :D

I don't really want to change my username... again... lol

You might not be able to remember my real name, but it can't be helped. You're not to blame there. Your sister brainwashed you all and taught you to call me only by my nickname. Indoctrination like that is hard to reverse. ;)

 Your last sentence sounds like something you'd find in a scary Sci-Fi novel. You said you write Sci-Fi too, right?

Ohh... does it? It has a bit of an evil overlord, or dark doom, ring to it, now that you mention it. I didn't think of that when I wrote it. ;) I might have to find a use for it, then! Thanks for the inspiration! :D

Yes, I do write sci-fi. Generally that means "stories set in the future with curious technology"; I'm not usually an alien type of person. Though I do have some scrapbook paper with cute aliens on it. :)

So basically Star Wars without the Aliens?

You should totally use that line Philli! It spoke to me (in a sinister kind of way).

Yes... that's a pretty good description, I would say! (I think lightsabers are very cool.) I'm open to trying other styles, but I naturally tend more towards the robots & humans angle.

I'll try! (Though anyone else is welcome to it.) I am searching for a story to use for NaNo; maybe I can work "backwards" off of that quote. Thanks!

Well, I think I'm a bit late, but....

WELCOME TO HOLY WORLDS!!! *A thousand butterflies drift down and spell "Welcome Philadelphia!" in the air* :D

Not quite as dramatic as Amanda's, but it's all I can come up with right now! And it's pretty, anyways... :D

HEY! I've seen you around before, but just thought I'd officially say WELCOME! WOOOOOOOOOT!

*throws confetti*

Hope you have a BLAST here. I know I do. And I'm really enjoying your story excerpt as well.:)

(btw, Evening, I took the liberty of using your avatar as my new one.;) )
