Greetings. My name is Jonathan Garner. I’ve been writing since I was eight years old. My published works so far are the stories ‘The Coming’ and ‘The Black Spot’ in Fear and Trembling and the poem ‘Don’t Blink’ in TeenAge. None of my published works are fantasy in the general sense, but I enjoy reading and writing fantasy, as well as horror thrillers and suspense thrillers.

Since I seem to be unable to focus on one project at a time, I am working on a variety of series, including my main focus at the moment, the second book in a horror thriller series for teens. I am also developing secondary worlds for multiple fantasy series, all of which have a long way to go.

As one of the rare young people who is technologically impaired, this is the first fantasy forum I’ve joined, so I’m sure it will be an interesting experience.

Welcome to HW! :)

Horror thriller series, huh? Sounds interesting :D Good luck!

Any horror/suspense books you'd recommend?

Some of my favorite horror and suspense books are PlagueMaker by Tim Downs, The Reckoning by James Byron Huggins, and just about anything by Frank Peretti.

[inside joke] Is this where we pounce? [/end inside joke]

Welcome Jonathan! *tries to think of something witty to say*
As you might be able to tell, we're none of us what you might consider exactly sane, and we're not afraid to show it. :D :D :D So have fun!!!

Welcome to HolyWorlds, Jonathan! And welcome to the craziness. :D This is the forum where it is perfectly normal to use a smilie (or two :D) after every sentence! :D :D See? :D

So how do we pounce? When? Where? Why? j/k. *maniacal grin* This inside joke is fun. :D (naturally. :D)

Unless of course you are like me and use smilies after every sentence no matter where you are because you use a lot of facial expressions and tones of voice IRL and have no other way of letting people know you're being silly :P Then it probably doesn't matter, because you'll probably end up using smilies anyway...

What was the point of this post again?

Welcome to Holy Worlds! :) We are pretty crazy here... but in a totally amazing way!

Now where is Namor? We definitely need a welcome song right now!

I think we should all join and sing a welcome song together and maybe the noise will entice Namor over in time for a solo. After all, that's the point of the pounce, right? Abandoning Elanhil's thread to a safe and quiet death of deseration and bringing our music making over here?

(Now, how did that song go?)

Oh Welcome, o welcome to HW
Oh Jonathan Garner, bla bla bloo!

Welcome Jonathan! I've been expecting you, though I don't even know you. You have no idea how glad I am that you've come, even though I've never met you. I've been waiting a loooooong time for this day! [evil laugh] BHAHAHAHAHAHA! [/evil laugh]

Great work on the pouncing, guys. Keep it up! :D :D :D

And of course Elanhil is happy because we have someone else to... well, something. ;)

I understand being technologically impaired (even though I am working to conquer that). Besides having this forum help develop my stories  it has helped me figure out some basic coding things like this: I love inside jokes! Anyways, sorry if I just confused you.

I like Frank Peretti too, but I have learned not to read his books at night. His Cooper Kids books were pretty creepy. Does anyone like his "The Veritas Project"? I liked the second better meself. :)

Oh, I did not know that. Go figure.

Oh, I think I forgot to say welcome. :blushing smilie: Wow, am I confused today or what? Speaking of which... (just kidding!) where IS Namor? ;) He "sings" in welcome.

Yes, Namor is (in)famous for pouncing upon innocent newcomers and singing his welcome. Just go check out some of the other introduction threads. :D

Janin of Yen wrote:

Absolutely!

Welcome, Sir Jonathan
Welcome to the fun, where
Productive insanity's our goal
And we won't quit 'til we're done!

Woot bang crash!
Yipee-yi-yay!
Welcome, Jonathan
Hip-hip hooray!

Sis boom bam!
Let the craziness commence
Bong bang boom!
I have abandoned all pretense
(wait, what pretense?)

Well, sir newbie,
Welcome to the fun
I shan't pain thee with my singing
My rhyming is all done!

*confetti falls (and DOESN'T turn into penguins, Shawn.)*

I think I've just demonstrated why I only write non-lyrical songs. :D But that will have to do until Namor gets here.

Oh, and if you want to get in on all the inside jokes, read that last few pages of this thread. It's rather hilarious.

Anyways, welcome, and I hope I didn't scare you too much. *evil grin*

Namor would be the icing on the sundae for this intro thread. But icing or no, I'm glad my into is un-cluttered.

(welcome, by the way ;) )

Specifically Elanhil's introduction thread (which we've now abandoned) , somewhere on page 4 or 5 now. That was Namor's first welcome song. :D Where is he anyway? He should be here by now! This thread's already up to 19 responses!

I loved the cooper kids, what I read of them. Which means: two. Annie Murphy and Flying Blind. Flying Blind was the most riveting book ever. All of us who read it simply couldn't put it down. It was like a magnet. We got mad at each other for doing nothing but reading all day, but then when our turn came to actually read it we understood. :D (I'm not sure, did that make any sense?)

Good song Evening! Oh Welcome again, Jonathan!

*A random fairy comes running in scattering golden dust behind her. The dust rises into the air and spells out the words "Welcome Jonathan!". The words pouf and come fluttering down as tiny cottonball penguins.*

(You know, those little birds you make that are just cotton balls or what-do-you-call-them-? that you just stick beaks and feet onto? [I can't believe I can't remember what you call those little balls...] )

I haven't read much of (rewind) ok, I'll be honest, I haven't read any of his works but I'll get around to it eventually. :)

*in mock indignation*
You think? You THINK?? You obviously did no thinking of any kind if you--
*in a normal voice* Oh wait, sorry, inside joke.

*back to indignation* How can you only think you have weird friends? I'm insulted! Didn't you know you had weird friends the minute you laid eyes on us?

Welcome to reality, Kenton. Welcome to fantasy, Jonathan. :D

OOOH! *Runs over and snatches up a pom-pom penguin.* They are so cute!!!! ... I have a good way to welcome Jonathan.

*The sky turns black and a bright sudden flash of light followed by a boom was seen and heard* Fireworks!

*The sky is colored rapidly with yellow, red, blue, purple, green, orange, and pink stars, balls, smiley faces ( :D ), the letter W, E, L, C, O, M, E.*

Welcome to HW! Beat that for a good welcome! :D

*A tiny speck in the distance explodes into the fiery shape of a dragon, who soars, flaming jaws open wide, and devours Elanhil's fireworks. It swoops up, does a backwards loop and twist. It flips in the air and plummets toward the ground, swerving upward only at the last moment. It flies off into the distance and explodes into a million sparks of golden fire.*

Elanhil, you're on. :D (And you've probably already noticed, but I'm very attached to my flaming dragon.)

Welcome to the madhouse Jonathan (as you’ve already seen!). Nice to have you aboard and nice to see someone using Seer’s lion avatar. Hope you enjoy your stay. The penguin confetti is an inside joke. If you read back far enough in the posts you’ll pick it up.

Now, as to Namor’s absence I would like to say that I never received a welcome song, *pouting* and I’ve been on awhile. He’s fallen down on his job apparently. :D

Oh yea, and Amanda K uses more smiles than anyone else I know. Don’t say anything bad about them either; she’ll post the devil emoticon. (yikes!)

And in answer to your thread question Jonathan, it is perfectly acceptable to use a none fantasy name. It might give you the appearance of sanity.

That's a good thing???!!!

(I'm not usually quite this crazy myself. Something about all these introduction threads at once...)

Depends on who you ask. I like the craziness. I live a very hectic, busy life and my family is constantly in and out of the hospital with my 15 month old brother (our miracle baby), so I can let loose around here. However, I also enjoy the serious discussions in life too. I have dual personalities I guess, It’s kind of a coping mechanism.

I can't help but notice the 'might', as if it is doubtful that anyone who was sane would show up here. :D

Um... I think I left all the other evil laughter, smilies, and witty insanity in my other cloak. So please accept my boring "Welcome to Holy Worlds, Jonathan!"

No warm welcome is boring.

Agreed. Look out for the puppies, by the way. *puppies that look like the older drawings of Snoopy wiggle in, wearing collars that say "Welcome!"*

I'm tempted to let the dragon in to devour the cuteness... this can't be good...

ANOTHER DOWNS FAN! Have you read all his books? The only one I haven't read is Wonders Never Cease and I'm getting that for my birthday. His books are all so consistently awesome. He's one of my top five favorite authors (along with Dekker, Tolkien, Peretti, and Patrick McManus.)

And I recently changed my name to a non-fantasy one. GO AGAINST THE FLOW! :D

I noticed you changed your name because I thought you were a new member. However, when I clicked on your name I was informed that Luke the Mindwielder wasn't in fact a new member, but our former friend Forlendo Alistar. Very cool name by the way. I like it. I bet your names evokes all sorts of essence thoughts into Seer's head. :D
