Well, first off, I might as well say that I haven't written a word of fantasy in at least a year, so the shunning can begin right now if that's a big deal.
But seriously, I do love to write, and I'm mainly joining in hopes of getting re-inspired to dig up my old fantasy series and get back to work on it. Also, I've seen that there's lots of good advice here for writers from any genre, so there's another good reason to join. Plus, one of my friends has been wanting me to join for a while, but that has had absolutely nothing whatsoever to do with my final decision. ;)
So, now for some random facts.

I mainly write action, adventure. At least, over the last few years, that's been my main thing.

I have an obsession with pirates and history.

I love reading, something I do way too much of. :book:

I'm a diehard Tolkien and Lewis fan.

I love music.

Last but not least, I don't think I'm ever going to lose a certain amount (okay, a pretty large quantity) of zaniness even though I'm supposed to be a dignified, clever person by this time.

Ummm. That's about all I can think of to say for now, but if anyone has things they're curious to know or random trivia questions, ask away! The worst I can do is not answer.
I'm rather excited to be on a forum with a bunch of Christian writers and look forward to meeting ya'll. :D

Hello there! Welcome to HWFF!

I hadn't written any fantasy when I first joined here. :D

I have read some Tolkien but not as much as some of the other guys on here.

What does your username mean? It has a nice ring to it.

Welcome to HWFF, Morana! *sets off glitter spreading fireworks*

As a die-hard Lewis and Tolkien fan myself, I must say you've come to the right place! I dare you to search for the word "Tolkien". XD

Welcome Morana,

I'm diehard fan of most of the Inklings group, although I have read more Lewis than the others.

I'm also new and writing my first fantasy so no shunning here.

Just welcome. :D

Welcome to Holy Worlds, Morana! There will be no shunning here! I haven't written anything original or fantasy for a couple years myself. I was working on a fan fiction before my summer jobs took over my life. :D

You're not the first with hopes of being re-inspired. It's something we members try to exercise daily here. ;)

Which friend has wanted you to join? *must know!*

If you love pirates and history (as do I) You'll also have to check out the Holy Worlds Historical forum when it comes up. :D

Yay, music! There are days my writing relies on music!

I've gotta run, but, welcome again!

No shunning going on here! I have onced forgotten I have had books half-written before and bumped in to them thinking... "Oh yeah... that book? What was the MC's name again?"

Holy worlds is the best way to fall in love with your book again!

Welcome, welcome, welcome, Morana!! Hm, yes, your name certainly does have a pleasant ring to it... very unusual, that.

I'm sure there is absolutely no connection whatsoever *sarcastic voice*, but my username happens to be Evenstar {by the way, you can call me Dawn or Estar, as you like :D }, but anyway.... Yes, guilty. I'm a Tolkien fan through and through!

In honor of our fellow Tolkieneshness, bring on the glitter! *swirls glitter around the thread in every nook and cranny, then steps back and admires the effect until blinded by sunlight on glitter. Blinks hard and steps back, dazed and dazzled*

Oh, and, refreshments, anyone? *hands out warm breakfast bagels, plus apple pie and cherry cordial and custards and macaroons and raspberry sorbet and peach crumble*

*laughs merrily* Morana, dearest (a pretty name like that just begs to be called "dearest"), you will fit in perfectly around here! You have HW written all over your personality. Come on in, make yourself at home, and have a cupcake! Inspiring people is one of our specialties... though no guarantees that we'll inspire you to pick up one of your old works. We might make you start something new. :dieshappy:

Welcome again, Morana. I love people who love Lewis and Tolkien. :D

Be careful of your thoughts; guard your mind, for your thoughts become words. Be guarded when you speak, for your words turn into action. Watch what you do, for your actions will become habits. Be wary of your habits, for they become your character. Pray over your character; strive to mold it to the image of Christ, because your character will shape your destiny.

Ideas can germinate from the smallest seeds. Collect those seeds, and let them grow in the back of your mind. You may be surprised by what finally blooms.

When God takes something from your grasp, he's not punishing you. Instead, He’s opening your hands to receive something better. The will of God will never take you where the Grace of God will not protect you.

He, he. I have absolutely no idea what it means, to tell the embarrassing truth. I wish it had some brilliant meaning like "bearer of light" or "wise and great one". However, it's a name I made up for an MC in one of my books.

As for the pirates, they're all over the place in my work. I can't escape them. I find them too fascinating. Right now, I'm working on a two-book series that contains lots of pirates.

I have an obsession with soundtracks - the epic kind, if you know what I mean - classical, some contemp Christian - depends on the singer/band -. Irish music is another of my huge favorites.

Huzzah for epic soundtracks!
Once I get my life and list of works in progress into some semblance of order rather than sporadically organized chaos, I shall post a list of completed works with short synopses and works in progress with ditto on those to threads dedicated to such things.

Oh, boy. Hmm. My favorite soundtrack tends to vary. Some months I'm really into one style and sound. Some months I'm into another. However, some of my favorites include: all 4 Pirates of the Caribbean soundtracks, all 3 Lord of the Rings Soundtracks, The Last Samurai, Sherlock Holmes, How to Train Your Dragon, The Adventures of Robin Hood, The Sea Hawk, and Robin Hood. Basically, if a soundtrack is by Hans Zimmer, John Powell, or Erich Wolfgang Korngold, I like it. That's not to say I don't like other composers, but those are three of my particular favorites.

I love Hans Zimmer's music!

Well that is cool! If you made up the name you could make up a fantastic meaning for it as well! :dieshappy:

I am very happy that you joined us, Morana, and can't wait to read your work. :D

A fellow John Powell lover! His work is beyond amazing, HTTYD especially. That soundtrack is a masterpiece. BOLT is also delightful. (I'm a HTTYD geek and a John Powell fan... you are forewarned.)

Welcome to Holy Worlds!

A figure in black studded with silver emerges from the shadows and loosens his two swords. He leaps into the air, turning a back flip, and giving a scream piercing enough to crumble the cookies on the table. His swords slide from their sheaths and land crossed on the floor before you. He turns in the air, and bows to you, and lands on the floor bowing.

Welcome, Sister in Christ, to Holy Worlds. May God bless your work here!

Edible glitter sounds much more practical.

A wonderful new Tolkien fan! Have you read the Silmarillion yet?

*Shivers* That was so lovely and exciting! I could just see it in my head as I read that.
I have not yet read the Silmarillion, but rest assured it is on my list of things I need to read in the near future. I need to buy a copy first because I have a feeling that it will take me a while to read it, and the library late fees would be monumental.
