Yeah, I figure that title would get your attention. Long story (which involves shuriken) short, Amanda revealed to several of us that she was going to kill some of her good guys. Then she didn't want to tell us who. Then I threatened that I'd make a topic about it if she didn't tell. Then she called my bluff.

So here I am. Amanda, WHO ARE YOU KILLING?

UPDATE: This topic appears to have morphed into a discussion of series. :P (is series plural as well as singular?)

ROFL!!!!! You did it!! Yay!

Alright, I'll tell you who dies. But I'll warn you, it'll spoil the story...

It's Kai and Klasina.

Because, I like to be tragic. Well, sometimes. :) Anyhow, there's good reason Klasina dies. It really helps Kai's character. And Kai dies so the end isn't too happy.

*sigh* You're only allowed bittersweet endings if you're writing a sequel, Amanda.

At this point, I'm not. With the ending as I have it, there's no plot for a sequel, even if it feels like there could be one.

I can never stop at just one book. :P
*tries not to let personal emotions take over and yell at Amanda to write a sequel* ;)
Are you a series person at all?

Well, that's too bad. ;)
Go ahead and yell! It won't help - I don't even have the first one done!
I like to read them, if that's what you mean. I've never written one, but I've barely completed 2 short stories. So that doesn't mean much. :)

I'm not a series person. I'm impossible with writing them, and I only like to read them under certain circumstances. Series that stretch on and on drive me nuts. Trilogies are okay, if they're not a trilogy just for the sake of being a trilogy. Not like I hate a story if it covers more than one book, I just don't go for it. Movies... not necessarily so. Usually sequels to movies drive me insane and I wish they'd never been made. :D (If it's not a movie based off a book, because then it's the book fault if the series is lame.)

I tolerate series, mostly, but prefer standalone books. And all my novels are standalone. ('cept the Keepers of Dylann, but who knows if that will even get written...)

And I thought Melody and I knew how to get into trouble on the public forums... heh!

Many of my novels are standalones. Most (all?) of my scripts are. Sometimes I do toy around with series/trilogies ideas for my novels, but a series is such a commitment. :P And they can be harder to sell for an unpublished author, too.

What do you two think about me killing Kai? (must try to keep this a little on topic, eh? :) )

Mouse, I have two people on my side about not writing a series now... :D

You, Miss Amanda, have not so much as MENTIONED this story to me, much less the characters contained therein, so I have absolutely no opinion whatsoever.

I didn't know you wanted to hear about my story. And, I haven't chatted you for ages, so of course I haven't had opportunity to mention it, or the characters therein. :) Of course, I could show you all the ramblies I have, but that would mean showing you things I'm not going to tell the other HWers until the story is written (because I like secrets) and that wouldn't be fair. (if you read the character introductions thread, though, you'd learn a lot about Kai...)

Maybe I should post the scenes with Kai that I have written in Fireside....

Philli wants to know about as many of the stories that I can think of on here. ;)

I haven't done a series... yet.

Why wouldn't it be fair? I'm, you know, Leah! I knew you before you even joined HW. C'mon.

And the chatting thing... well, despite what your sister says, I HAVE been on chat and you just haven't taken the opportunity to talk to me. Humph!

Do I, Shawn? :D

More correctly, I knew you before you joined HW. I joined first, remember? Anyhow, I still am of the opinion it wouldn't be fair... :)

You may HAVE been in chat, but I wasn't. I leave my Gmail up all the time, ya know, even when I'm not on the computer for many many hours. And I haven't been on as much lately... :P

You could write a series and kill them at the end. That's what I'll be doing with TPoF, some of the characters are going to die. Then hours later, Lucifen will be overthrown and his empire destroyed.

My world of Ashta has a series written for it, but they don't necessarily need each other to be understood. What I mean is; I have a bunch of stories set in the same world, a few of them are connected, but most have no need of the others to be enjoyable (at least, I hope they'll be enjoyable  ).
