Hi there! I am Kimberly aka White Raven
and I've been reading this forum since November
when "Lady Eruwaedhiel" or my daughter Elizabeth joined.

I've enjoyed reading the story excerpts and all the crazy fun!
After we started looking at the Essence postings I just had to join
so I could talk about it! What an exciting concept!

I hope I won't be seen as the old lady on the site as I'm only 36
and feel like I'm only 20!

I'm looking forward to more interesting discussion, zany antics,
and new ideas! Nice to be getting to know you all! :D

The books or the music in which we thought the beauty was located will betray us if we trust to them; it was not in them, it only came through them, and what came through them was longing. These things—the beauty, the memory of our own past—are good images of what we really desire; but if they are mistaken for the thing itself they turn into dumb idols, breaking the hearts of their worshippers. For they are not the thing itself; they are only the scent of a flower we have not found, the echo of a tune we have not heard, news from a country we have never yet visited.

All the things that have deeply possessed your soul have been but hints of it—tantalising glimpses, promises never quite fulfilled, echoes that died away just as they caught your ear... We cannot tell each other about it. It is the secret signature of each soul, the incommunicable and unappeasable want . . . which we shall still desire on our deathbeds . . . ~C.S. Lewis

Hello,
Welcome to the forum!

I especially liked the link that you provided in the thread about dragons; very informative.

Mom, I don't know what in Carseld would make you think we had "zany antics" on here. *clears throat* right, everyone?

Welcome, Miss Kimberly! (I would've used your last name, but as I don't have one to use... :))

We are glad to have another mom here! Thank you for joining, and we hope you have fun while you are here! :)

Blessings,
Carissa aka Duchess Daisy aka The Editor :)

Jay also has a young at heart mother (she still climbs trees), so I think he probably is used to that... but even the adults who sometimes do crazy things can see when it's time to calm down better than we can, having fallen more often (in other words, having more experiences then we do). :) So, even though she may be ready to jump in with our fun, I think she will also be able to help keep it somewhat sane. :)

Anyway, that's just what I thought when I read your post, Lady Eruwaedhiel.

Also, let's be very careful to speak respectfully of our parents here on Holy Worlds. ;)

Hi Kimberly!
Don't worry, you're not the only "old mom" floating around these parts. (Though I don't have any children old enough to be participating in this forum, we're still very close in age.)

I look forward to reading your contributions to the discussions! (Now if I could just catch up on my own contributions around here! The holidays plus writing projects in my life have made me pretty scarce.)

Welcome! I think it's wonderful that you decided to join us "youngsters" on the forum. We can always use more mature people, although I also have to agree with your daughter, Lady Eruwaedhiel, that there are no zany antics here. None. Nada. Zip. I give my full support to her statement. By the way, my sister and I have spent many a long hour pondering age, and we have determined that "old" begins at age thirty. Hear me out! We have also determined that women stop aging at twenty-nine, so there is no possible way for you, or any woman, to be old! Just thought I'd let you (and the rest of the world) know about our new and thrilling discoveries.

Welcome to the Holy Worlds Christian Fantasy Forum!

Thank you everyone for the warm welcome!

I haven't actually started writing anything yet.
(does that disqualify me from membership? ;) )
But I've been thinking about it more and more.
One of these days I'll actually start!
(I know that for me getting started is the hardest step)

Don't worry Mom, I'm sure you'll come up with something. You're the 'possibility man', right?
Sapphira, I don't know how sane we can be. (homeschoolers, fantasy lovers, authors, etc.) lol

I think that the "You know you're a crazy fantasy writer..." thread pretty much describes our level of sanity. :D

I keep telling her she needs to start writing something. Though with all this nonsense about Machu Picchu I'm sure it won't be long . . .
Is your mom a fantasy lover too, Mindy?
