When no one thinks it strange to see people conversing with themselves in the chat room.

-When you and another author trade characters for the evening, and take them to your various activities.

-When your subconscious is a 3-year old.

-When people ask what you're reading, and you explain that you're test-reading a book that isn't out yet, and no, you can't just tell them about it.

-Your story comes to you with the proposal of a different genre--multiple different times.

-Writing a story is sometimes like reading one; you don't really know what will happen until it writes itself under your pen (or fingers ).

You know you're a HolyWorlder when you walk through a medieval theme park on a hundred degree day and still want to dress up for the occasion.

You know you are a Holy Worlder when you have a massive headache, groaning 'ow my head, ow my head, ow my head' until you realize that those words are too redundant and not nearly clever enough. So, instead you start mumbling things like 'Woe, there is great pain and sorrow, of which mine feeble mind can hardly hope to bear; woe and alas, for the aching does not fade....etc., etc.' (I did that today. It actually put me in a better mood.)

When you are in an immaculate conference room (I mean, extremely classy place you feel out of place in ), see a crack in the wall, and think that's awesome.

...you see a tree outside with a dry stripe down its side (when it's rainy out), and you want to go out there and touch it.

When you can give multiple people chocolate hats and no one thinks you're nuts

or when you can give people the most randomest nicknames and when a friend in real life askes who you're talking with you give that person's nickname without a thought.

when you become an adopted sibling and you get adopted by others

when you can ask your mom if you can poke jello and she looks at you like you have 5 heads.

...when you would like to have five heads just to keep track of all the random information floating around in your brain.

Hahahaha! I could use an extra head to keep track of all the adopted siblings, nicknames, dragons, virtual gifts, etc. that are trying to crowd my brain.

I think that's why most writers have a certain degree of craziness. They just can't keep up with all the action buzzing inside their feeble little cranial warehouse.

That would explain it.....

Or maybe we're writers because we have a certain degree of craziness...


You know you're an HWer when-you get the 'do you have five heads' look a lot.

-when HW is the first site you open after checking your emails

-when you don't have any clue where it's actually from but can quote the 'V Speech'. (I'm getting there...)

Or when you check it before you check your e-mail? That's me.

I usually check them both at the same time, on two different tabs.

I do all three, depending on how well the computer is that I'm using--some of them don't multitask as well as I do...

When you're gone for five days and feel as if you've missed a year.

When you regularly stay up past your bedtime when you're in chat.
