So, I'm a newbie. I write a lot, mostly fantasy. Actually, almost everything I write is fantasy. I'm a journalism-PR major, sophomore. I absolutely love writing. I joined this mostly looking for a community where I can meet other writers and discuss writer-ly things. I'm open to advice and eager to learn new techniques. I'm also a very social person. Want to know more, just ask :) :book: :dieshappy:  ;)

Welcome to Holy Worlds, Maestro!

You mentioned on Facebook that you're looking for avenues to be published. Are you working on any novels/short stories at the moment? I'm on holiday at the moment, but when I get back I have a short story I'm going to send to different magazines, and I'm also working on a Fantasy novel at the moment (although I love Historical Fiction as well).

Welcome, Maestro! How long have you been writing? What kind of music do you like?

I can't wait for you to post stories and ideas and thoughts and things. I'm looking forward to seeing you around. :D * gives you a glitter jar for emergencies *

Welcome, Maestro! :D

HW is a wonderful community for writers--the best one I've found. We're all a bit random here, but most of us don't bite. (Okay, it's only our characters who sometimes bite...and only the naughty ones. )

What three books come to mind when you think of your top favorites?

Jonathan: I love all kinds of authors: Tolkien, Lewis, Rowling, Agatha Christie, Mary Higgins Clarke, Wayne Thomas Batson, Bryan Davis, and any other book that looks interesting. I try and dabble in all of the genres. I'm game for just about anything as long as it has a good story line.

Elanor: I'm always writing on something, but now I am continuously trying to get more finished. My dream is to be published some day. I am always asking around and stuff just so I can be looking into options before the day comes.

Blayne: I have a brief description of them on my camp nanowrimo page. Username is berna6913

Mistress Rwebhu- First off, very interesting username. I have been writing and coming up with stories for as long as I can remember, getting more serious about the actual writing part as time goes on. My favorite music when it comes to writing is epic instrumental music. I also love Christian and Country.

Caeli: The Hobbit, Reedeming Love, and The Book Thief. You?
Also, I've been in marching band since freshman year of highschool. I'm pretty sure I can handle just about any kind of random that y'all can throw at me.

I dabble in a lot of genres, too. I've read and like all of those authors, except for Davis, who I hope to read soon and imagine I'll like when I do!

Thanks. :D

Do you listen to country while you're writing?

I usually just listen to it in the car or on Tv. I use primarily instrumental music while I'm writing. It helps set the mood and keeps me focused.

Yep, that's generally what I do too, and only occasionally I use lyric music, especially if the words are repetitive. I was just curious, because I don't hear about people using country music for writing very much. :D Do you have any favorite country bands? I don't explore much thataway. Maybe I should. :)

Jonathan: Start with Dragons in Our Midst, then Oracles of Fire, then Children of the Bard. All of the series are connected and they make the most sense in that order. Oracles of Fire is kind of my favorite so far, though.

Rwebku: There are so many good ones out there its hard to choose. I say just find the country music station and listen to it. Not all of the songs have the best lyrics but a lot of them are really good.

Calista: Better late then never ;)

Welcome, Maestro! :D I love the sound of a clarinet - never really played one, though; that's awesome! ^_^

Welcome, Maestro! What's your favorite Agatha Christie novel?

That's awesome that you play the clarinet! Do you have any favorite composers?

I like just about everyone I've read, but I haven't read any recently so IDK which would be my favorite.

And I have to say, Steven Reineke(even though I've never played him).
