Hello all! I'm Irtor. I read and (try to) write fantasy and science fiction. (I read a number of other genres too, but my writing attempts are limited to speculative genres.) I look forward to spending time on this forum.

Hi Irtor, and welcome to Holy Worlds! :)

What are you working on writing at the moment?

Thanks for the welcomes!

I'd have to say J. R. R. Tolkien, C. S. Lewis, Brandon Sanderson, Bryan Davis, and Donita K. Paul.

I've been trying to write the story of Coltard, a young man who joins the army of the Navlins (basically my elf-analogue) to help in their fight against their enemy, an evil serpent. I have about a dozen more story ideas that I haven't even started writing yet. :) When I try to write a novel, I usually seem to 1) know just what's supposed to happen at the beginning and end of the book, but not have any ideas for the middle, and 2) get caught up in worldbuilding and do more of that than actual writing. :P

Ah, don't worry. An abundance of story ideas is quite common among writers, or so I've heard.

Tolkien and Lewis are two of mine as well. I haven't read any Bryan Davis or Brandon Sanderson yet, but I hope to soon. :D

Yep, so I've heard. I'll get them all written eventually. :)

Your story sounds great! And about worldbuilding and plot building, your not alone there. ;)

Welcome to Holy Worlds Irtor!

Good man! Post it. (I have a lot of that to post myself!)
Get a world sub-forum in the Realms Beyond section, it helps organize your threads.

Elves against an evil serpent is an idea that needs to be written about.

Welcome tenfold!

Music: Contemporary Christian Music, hymns, and anything Celtic or Hebrew.
Hobbies: Reading (of course), playing games with my family, learning about God's creation, computer programming (which is a hobby right now but may become my career), and you know, there's nothing like a good walk, but it's been a while since I've taken a good walk.

Thanks!
Food: Um, pizza.
Color: When I was little, my favorite color was red, because of Elmo, but nowadays it's sky blue.
