Doing anything in a NaNo counts as a good thing. I used to beat myself up if I didn't write the full 50,000. Then I did Camp NaNo and planned for 20,000. Wound up about 40,000+. Whether or not we make the full word count is secondary to redefining "win". I win if I learn more about my writing and how to improve my craft and production rate. Each sub-skill I improve on is one less I have to actively "think about"; I just do it. That frees me to think about the story more. So, keep writing! Note where you mess up and figure out ways to fix that. Note where you do well and do more of that. Lots more! |

You're going to love it here whether you like it or not, because everyone is awesome and there may or may not be a lot of virtual glitter, purple penguins, and cupcakes (unless things have changed drastically since my very long hiatus, but I doubt it could have changed that much.

Just for your information, my cupcakes are fresh and guaranteed not to kill anyone. ...Unless you give them to a highly skilled assassin, who I'm sure could probably find a way to use them as a murder weapon. In which case, apparently, you might want to keep them away from our beloved Lt. General. |

Of course, there arises the problem that when I kill people--I mean characters of course--it's definitely NOT a cozy murder...
