Hi! I am a musician, singer, stay-at-home daughter, and aspiring fantasy/fiction author. :) Actually, I'm only here because of a series of rather funny coincidences. I first discovered Holy Worlds through forgetting the name of a friend's brother's project forum... When I searched it, I found someone on Holy Worlds had invented a world of the same name! It turns out he had done a little with Holy Worlds And I proceeded to explore the forums and find many interesting things, from mind-bending discussions of Coppa and fractaling, to discussions of worlds, inspiring drawings, and entertaining escapades! I thought about requesting to join multiple times, but as he hadn't interacted with the forum much, and I didn't know anyone else here, I thought it would look weird (although probably not as weird as browsing the forums incognito! )

Anyway, I just so happened to come across one of my bookmarks... and the site was gone! I wracked my brain for who had taken on Holy Worlds... And remembered Penoaks publishing... and it had vanished as well! To make a long story short, in my Facebook messages to Holy Worlds and Penoaks I found I just happened to click the link as they were doing server maintenance... But as they invited me I am finally here! And if you all still let your characters interact, I have a few I would love to develop! Thanks AuthorFaith for helping me get set up! I think I found every glitch that could exist in the system...

(Speaking of glitches... how do I make a signature? It is telling me my limit is 0 characters...)

Welcome to Holy Worlds! I hope you find your time here inspiring, edifying, and entertaining :)

You're not alone in lurking around the forum before becoming active :) When I first stumbled on Holy Worlds, I first browsed around, then created an account, and then I didn't come back to it until about three months later. There's no shame in reading the forum as a "guest," but I'm glad you've moved from being a "lurker" to being a "participant" :)

Speaking as someone who has the unfortunate knack for running into glitches in almost any software system, I'm sorry to say there's probably more, but with any luck I'll run across them first and be able to document them well enough for the "tech team" to iron them out :) (Though that signature-limit thing is one I haven't run into.)

Anyway, welcome to Holy Worlds!

You're clearly a writer. That intro was an epic adventure story in and of itself.

;) Welcome! We're so glad to have you. You can't leave now, btw. In case you missed that clause on the sign-up page.

Thanks everyone! And, kingjon, its good to know I haven't been the only lurker - or glitch finder! :)

o.O Um, yes, I did miss that... *casually glances backward only to find that the portal has vanished.* So that's why my timing seemed so impeccable! It was a ruse for hapless fantasy authors! Thankfully this looks like a fun place to be held hostage! ;) Unless there are dangers lurking of which I am unaware...

*Thinks this is not a good sign... Doesn't know enough about Loki to know for sure... Googles Loki and reads his bio... Decides Loki can't be trusted... Decides the General is insinuating Holy Worlds cannot be trusted... Shakes hands with imaginary smiling Loki anyway.* It's not like I'm the master of a world he can try to conquer. :D Oh yeah... :pale: *hides manuscripts*

A (rather belated) welcome to Holy Worlds from me as well! :dieshappy: I'm afraid I don't hang out here often enough, but this is truly an awesome place full of kind, encouraging, and wacky people. (And the occasional imaginary Loki) I haven't seen a lot of activity with the character chatting in the recent past, but now that you bring it up, you have me hankering for some good ol' character interactions. Sign me up! ;) (And it looks like the rest of the gang is game, too)

Oh, I almost forgot! Your mandatory welcome cupcake! *Hands you cupcake* Okay, we're good now.

 In the context it seemed you were playing right into my comment about unknown danger, but I figured the character held the key to the meaning. It's fine. To be honest, I was sort of asking for a threat. I love allegory, and gaining deeper meanings out of stories and words... Oftentimes, I probably read more into things than the author intended... ;)

Thanks Alias Ember! *savors cupcake* I've really enjoyed getting in some character development! I think that is my favorite part of writing. There are so many parallels that can be drawn between fiction and real life, and often I will find myself working through real world issues as I write. :-)

Wow I'm crazy late to this but welcome to Holy Worlds! I'm a newish member, and I can definitely say I understand lurking before joining. My siblings were both members many years ago, so I knew a little about it, but I was always kinda nervous to make an account. Anyway, I'm clearly good at rambling since that was all just to say I understand the feeling of joining HW after looking around for awhile (well that was redundant based on my previous sentences... *facepalm*).
Also, all of your comments in this thread have been written in a way that makes me really want to read your writing, because it drew me right in, if that makes sense. (wow sorry I just wrote a really tough paper for school and it fried my brain, so excuse how rambly and quite possibly confusing and annoying this message has been and will be haha)
HW is super fun and an INCREDIBLE resource, although I struggle to find time to go on it much between school, sports, and everything else I do (thus why I'm just not seeing your post).
Oh and a quick question, what kind of music do you like to sing? I used to take lessons (before I realized that I was going to go completely insane if I didn't drop one of the things I was doing haha) and I LOVE singing musical theater, although I will gladly sing just about anything :D .
Anyway, you probably hate me by now for how annoying and pointless this has probably seemed, but welcome again and enjoy your time on here! It's super cool and its a good place to get feedback on your writing :)

Ooh, Anne! I love musical theater, too! Do you have a favorite musical? (And I completely understand not having enough time to do HW. Recently I've had more time, but I feel like I'm usually super late to posting anything, but I'm learning that HW'ers don't really mind that. They're pretty cool like that  )

So good to find another musical theater fan! I have two haha. One is Phantom of the Opera, partially because I sang “Think of Me” in my last voice recital, and that song was kind of a culmination of everything I had accomplished and achieved in my three years of lessons.
And then my other favorite is Oklahoma!. I really love the way people used to sing in musicals, and although I love new musicals of course, I feel like nothing is quite like the old ones, ya know? Plus it’s just a super fun musical, in my opinion :D
What about you? Do you have a favorite (or two haha)?

I should listen to Oklahoma!. I think the only song I know from it is, well, the eponymous one about the wind sweeping down the plains, etc.

Oh, dear, too many. I grew up on Fiddler on the Roof, so that one holds a special place. (my dad, who is a bean pole of a man, would stick a pillow under his shirt and dance around like Tevye to "If I Were a Rich Man," much to the delight of me and my three sisters. ) I love Newsies, and you can never go wrong with Les Miserables! I've also discovered a new favorite: The Hunchback of Notre Dame musical (which takes some music from the Disney movie, but adds quite a bit more depth to the story). I could go on, but I shall refrain.

Hi, AnnewithanE! Don`t worry about the redundancy. It was nice to hear from a fellow lurker-before-joining. :) Also, I can sympathise with being tired... My family is partway through a stretch of doing seven concerts in ten days, so since today is an off-day, I enjoyed hibernating and exploring story ideas this morning... for about an hour... :diehappyhalo I am planning on writing some today, but we`ll see if my brain revives. ;) And don`t worry, you weren`t annoying at all. Actually, you reminded me of my little sister - in a good, fun, brighten your day kind of way! (Hopefully that came out as the compliment I intended... :? )

Awe! Thanks so much! I would love to share some of my writing... unfortunately, to envision the state of my WIP, just imagine pulling everything out of an overstuffed closet, then choosing what to put back, what to get rid of, and what new things you want to buy. I will see if I have any semi-together excerpts after my writing today. I could always send you the childrens lesson I wrote based off of the theme! That was a big last-minute surprise. :pale:

My family actually sings full-time. We started out with mostlly Southern Gospel, but as we have grown more into our own style, and begun using more instruments, I really have no idea what to call it! It is a blend of Southern Gospel, hymns, light contemporary, Celtic influence, some classical influence, etc. I am doing a lot of the arranging now, which is fun! I`ve also sung some modernish choral stuff for church and specials with friends. (One of my favoite recent arrangements has a medieval flair!) If you like, I can send you a link to the livestream of one of our latest concerts, or that arrangement. (I would post it here, but I`m not ready to lose my annonymity. :) )

Thanks for the welcome! I`m looking forward to exploring more of the forum and its resources as I go through my intensive edit!

That is fine. :) We will have concert 7 tomorrow, so I am looking forward to finishing well (hopefully! ;) )

I`ll try to send you a PM later tonight with the video links and such! I have a semi-presentable first few paragraphs, or I may send something more polished, but from the middle. :) I`m looking forward to hearing your feedback!

Yeah definitely! Just send it whenever you get a chance and good luck with the concert! I'm sure y'all will do great :).
And just send whatever you want, although maybe with a little explanation if you send a middle section ;)
