Today, my first novel went live. Today, I became a self-published author.

My first book is a sci-fi novella entitled Red Rain. All of the details (including a trailer made by Gabriel Hudelson & co.!) are here: http://www.aubreyhansen.com/p/red-rain.html

We're working on a paperback copy. Somewhat vainly hoping the proof will come in the mail today, but we'll see! You can still preorder a signed paperback on my website, if your preference is to get a copy that's been handled by me. :)

Well, I really, really enjoyed the process of self-publishing. I haven't been a published author long enough to decide if I like it now that it's over and done. ;)

Thank you so much, Azlyn! What kind of format do you want the book in? If you have a Kindle, you might want to buy it directly from Amazon. Amazon will send the book directly to your Kindle device. If you have another kind of ereader, you'll want to buy from Smashwords. Once you make an account and buy the book, you'll be able to download it in a bunch of formats, including PDF. Plus you can download it as many times as you want. :D If you need more help with Smashwords, let me know.

The paperback is not on Amazon yet - but it will be as soon as I get the proof, which will hopefully be tomorrow! If you order it direct from Amazon, you might get it a little bit faster, but the price will be the same. And signed copies have been manhandled by me. ;)

The third proof came today, and it was ALL CLEAR! The paperback copy is ready to go! It will take a few days for the book to appear on Amazon.com, but I'll be ordering a box for signed copies tomorrow. So if you want to be sure you get a signed copy on this run, you should preorder tonight!
