There's a Red Rain sequel? Is it going to be a whole series?

There isn't a sequel yet. I am thinking about it, but right now it doesn't exist. ;)

I'm thinking about it. It's a strong potential, but I'm not fully sold on it yet. It's not a guarantee until I actually finish a draft I'm happy with. ;)

I was interviewed on the Homeschool Authors Blog today! http://homeschoolauthors.blogspot.com/2 ... al-of.html

Red Rain was the focus, so I thought I'd post it here. :D

*grins at Aemi's reaction* :D

Thank you so much for the feedback, Brendan! It means so much to me that your brother gets a lot of wear out of the audiobook. :D

Of course I think Grace did an awesome job, but I suppose I'm biased. ;)

Oh goodness, don't worry about it, Airianna! You're doing this for free, for one thing, and for another, the book and I ain't going anywhere. The book, in fact, is not a focus in my mind right now at all... So anyway. *hugs*

Red Rain: purchased on Kindle for Mac (only the second eBook I've ever paid for, by the way, so congrats on that, Aubrey).

So, shirt designs. The most important thing to decide when creating a shirt is, quite literally, color. Shirt color, actually. Once you have a color decided for your shirt, you are ready to work with your design. Shirt color should be your background color, 90% of the time. So, I decided upon a black T-shirt deign. This would complement the colors that come to mind from the Red Rain essence.

T-shirts can be quite complicated, if you choose, or quite simple. I decided to start simple, especially since I know Philli like things simple and non cluttery.

I have some other ideas too, that I might try later. If anyone has a book quote they think would be fun to incorporate, feel free to voice it. :D I can make much larger designs, if needed.

Now, this last one is one that I split in two parts. The letters could be done in the Mars theme, or I could do the letters in the rain and umbrella theme. I just combined the two for everyone to be able to see what it would look like. :D

Anyways, those are what I played around with today.

*does not post her abstract piece *

I know everyone has stopped talking about it, but  I WANT ONE :beg:

Way-back-when, soon ater I joined HW, I went and tried listeing to the Red Rain audiobook---and bounced. I'm picky about audiobooks; there's some set of je ne sais quoi qualities that a voice can't have (I've bounced off of some podasts before for the same reason), and (somewhat more importantly) the reader can't be too slow---and I always want to speed through any sections with any amount of dramatic tension, for the same reason that I often "can't watch" at climactic or otherwise pivotal moments in movies (even, or especially, if I've seen them before) and get mild panic (think "stage fright") symptoms when I'm listening to my dad read some scenes aloud in our "family reading."

But I just went and read the "preview" on Smashwords, and got pulled into the story about as much as I did into Aurelia's Colors or the best recent books by Lois McMaster Bujold (and that's saying something)---I want to read more "nownownownownow." (The question is, should I really splurge, even that little, on a book just for myself? My brother's birthday is coming up in July ...)

:)

And now I think I know where the nickname "Philidelphia" or "Philli" comes from ...

(Question, though, Aubrey: If one were to buy in only one format, which would send you the most profit?)

I am very honored and excited to hear that, sir. :D Thank you for sharing your experiences with the audiobook and Smashwords sample - that helps me with market research.

Yes, you are correct on Philli. However, that mostly came about because I used "Philadelphia" as my username on here for awhile. But when I published the book, I decided I didn't want to be sharing a name with my MC, so I switched to the less confusing and more professional Aubrey Hansen. :D But Philli stuck of course... ;)

Good question. Let me run the numbers... They are all pretty close, but at current if you buy the ebook directly from Smashwords.com, it gives me the highest profit by about 10c. :) Thank you very much for asking!

Yes; I think I remember that, as if I recal correctly you switched within a few days after I joined. But I meant where that came from ... most usernames on here are chosen for a reason, but I couldn't easily imagine a reason for "Philadelphia."

Yes indeed, that was the reason. I was looking for a username that would fit on both HWF and HWSF, and "Philadelphia" was universal and unique. I liked it... but, nevertheless, the penname is better.

In other news... look what came in the mail today! 1000 of them! They're shiny, preciousss, very shiny... :dieshappy:

The old that is strong does not wither,
Deep roots are not reached by the frost.

From the ashes a fire shall be woken,
A light from the shadows shall spring;
Renewed shall be blade that was broken,
The crownless again shall be king

Question!

I'm planning some events and giveaways for this summer, and I'm trying to think of alternate prize ideas... So I'm wondering - is there any interest in signed prints of the illustrations (signed by the illustrator, not me )?

I would be interested. ;)

However, it would be even cooler if they were signed by the illustrator and you.

Why in the world would you want my siggy on the illustrations? o.O (Especially since Shaunie's signature is so much cooler...)

I'm glad it's of interest, though. :D I wasn't sure if it would have appeal, so I am glad to know. :D

Because the illustrations are for your book. :D So, yours and the illustrator's signatures should be on it.

*disagrees because she thinks her signature would ruin the beauty of a signed work of art* o.O

Guess what's in my school library? Looking all brand new and lovely?
I had to take it out even though I have the ebook.
Ooh! I would like a shirt. They're awesome.
