It went really well, considering I learned it mostly the day before. o.O One place kept confusing me, but I'm working on that part really hard before the tournament. Yes, yes, we did get a recording. :D My Youth Pastor said he'd get it to me soon; you will get it as soon as I do. :dieshappy: (I'm honored!!! o.o)

*grins excitedly* I can't wait! Thank you so much. Again, I'm really honored you'd choose my book. :D

I don't know if this would be helpful, but if you want to tell me what passage you're tripping over, I might be able to help. Donno if that's cheating, to get help from the author... but I thought I would offer. :D

* chuckles * I think I'm allowed to get help. :D

It's the dialogue section right after the paragraph where you talk about the bus being painted red... Part of the problem is cutting some lines for time, and having read the scene so many times. Anywho, I always blank at Ambrose' line about Mr. Dass being a civil criminal; I had to think about it just now for a bit. :P

This line?

Quote:
Commander Ambrose spoke again. “You realize, Mr. Dass, that you are a civil criminal and in violation of United policy.”

You could easily cut it to "you are in violation of United policy." (Makes you wonder why I didn't do that in editing... :roll: But live and learn!) Would that help?

Do you have a sketch of what lines you cut? I can help you further if I know exactly what you're reading.

I have a very special, unique, exciting, once-in-a-lifetime, very-important-milestone update...

I have my very first piece of fanfiction. ^_^

Our very own Reiyen wrote it for me. :D The first installment is here: http://rianthyne.blogspot.com/2012/06/s ... ction.html Leave a comment and let us know what you think! :dieshappy:

Also, don't get to excited, but... Jay (as in, the Jay, Sir Emeth) has promised to help me brainstorm for a sequel. :book:

Third part of the Red Rain fanfic is up! Very unexpected turn of tone & events: http://rianthyne.blogspot.com/2012/06/c ... art-3.html

I might not post links to the rest of the installments here, so you'll just have to follow Reiyen's blog. But it's worth it - he writes some other great stuff. :D

Guess what! My novel Red Rain is Book of the Week for the Read-a-Thon, and I'm offering you a chance to get the ebook for free! I'm also hosting a contest for two signed prints of the illustrations. Details here.

The winners for the review contest have been announced! http://www.aubreyhansen.com/2012/08/acc ... o-rng.html A warm and cupcake-filled thank you to everyone who entered!

Also, today and tomorrow are the last days to vote for the Verve Literary Awards! Red Rain is on the ballot, as is Grace's Firmament: Radialloy. At least one other HW author (Molly Evangeline) is also in the running. We'd all be very appreciative if you'd pop over and drop a vote! http://www.vervelitawards.com/p/vote-here.html
