I'm a big fan of high quality animated TV shows, the ones aimed at all ages instead of just at kids.

Here are some of my favorites:

Jonny Quest
The Real Adventures of Jonny Quest
Ducktales
Sherlock Holmes in the 22nd Century
Star Trek: The Animated Series

What animated TV shows do you like?

My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic.

Avatar: The Last Airbender. :D Not so much of fan of The Legend of Korra.

Umm... I know there are others, but I can't think of them now.

I've been curious about Avatar: The Last Airbender. :D

It starts out somewhat silly, but the character development is phenomenal. It has its moments of moralization, but there is also a lot of subtlety in play as well. The worldview is Buddhist, so reincarnation, pacifism, and treating all life as equal do play in, but there are also a lot of social issues that it deals with in a surprisingly mature way.

It's also pretty funny and has some great world-building and really well choreographed fights. The voice actor for one of the main antagonists is a break dancer, so he designed a few moves for his character to use. I recommend it highly.

Just about every animal in the show is a mix of at least two others. :D I think my favorite is the tigerdillo.

When you watch it, we should start another thread to talk about it. :D

I found another great animated show to add to my list: The Magician. It's from France and apparently somewhat obscure.

I've never heard of The Silver Brumby. What's it about?

Seconding MLP. ;) Like most people, my opinion on the pilot episode was "That was nicely done... for a kids show." I kept watching it because it was safe material for those times when I just needed to "unwind," but naturally as I got more into it, I feel in love with the characters more. I love the bright, colorful world and the great character development. And there are some episodes with some FANTASTIC writing and plot, especially Seasons 1, 4, and 5. And there is actually quite a bit of lore, backstory, and fantastic fan material as well.

Plus, you gotta love a show that makes an episode that was literally 22 minutes of mashed-up fan material.

I enjoyed Futurama as well. There are a couple of adult-oriented episodes and some that are just mental junkfood, but there were several with surprisingly deep and pithy points. The characters were endearing, and the final episode was actually brilliantly done, especially for it being such a long series.

And of course, we watch a lot of anime. :)

Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes is AMAZING. They managed to tell some of the best Avengers stories in the two seasons that they had.
