First off, I hope I'm in the right place.

Ok, So I just really feel like sharing one of my favorite bands with you all. I don't know if there's a post about them anywhere else on Holy Worlds, but I really feel as if I have been moved to tell you guys about this band.

Theocracy is a self-described Progressive Power Metal Band who plays some of the most awesome Christian metal ever. A lot of the time with Christian rock--especially Christian metal--I feel like they are putting out a sub-par product and expecting people to buy it because they call themselves Christian. Theocracy, however, has managed to not only be recognized by the metal community as a whole, but has won a number of awards. I know atheists who can't stop listening to this band and ALL of its music is about God. Well, besides the couple of silly Christmas songs they've done. ;)

In addition to that, many of Theocracy's songs are more than your standard "I love you God" Christian rock songs. They are outright brilliantly written songs about sin, doubt, faith, and redemption. Wow... this is starting to feel like an advertisement...

Ok, down to my actual point! Have you heard of this band? What do you think of them?

If you haven't heard of these guys here are some songs I suggest you listen to on youtube, Pandora, Spotify, or something like that.
Laying the Demon to Rest- Find somewhere to read the lyrics too, you might be in for a treat.

Mirror of Souls
The Gift of Music-For a lighter song.
All I want for Christmas or Wynter Fever- for a laugh.
And pretty much any of their other music.

Nice to see another Theocracy fan on Holy Worlds! :D

I Am is definitely one of their better songs, Its realy uplifting and the music that goes with it is breathtaking. I cant believe I didn't mention it myself as it is their most quintessential piece.

I probably listen to Laying the Demon to Rest the most though. As it reminds me to stay pure and keep my eye on the prize.

Though my favorite is probably Wages of Sin, Nailed, or On Eagles Wings.

That's the song that first made me a fan of Theocracy. :D Their long songs never seem long at all. I'm surprised at how easy it is to listen to "Mirror of Souls," even though it's twenty-two minutes long.

While writing a post, click the YouTube code button that appears as an option above the text box. Then get the video address of a YouTube video (the letters and numbers that appear after the = sign) and paste it in between the two middle brackets of the code.

i had never heard of this band. I am not much into metal, primarily because I did not know of any bands that I would like to listen to.

I found some music of theirs to listen to. I really like Theocracy. I think my favorite right now is 'Altar to the Unknown God'.

Theocracy will be releasing a new album next year, so I'm looking forward to that. :cool:

I have a few friends who love Theocracy but I haven't personally listened to them much. I maybe should but I already have so many bands I try to keep up with and heavy metal just isn't my thing, even after being raised on The Insiderz (who may not count at all actually XD) and Stryper. :cool:

That being said, I'm going to look up some of these songs to see. ;) And I also do appreciate how they aren't "Oh we are Christian, we ought to do this thing because the non-Christians out there have too much of the thing for them" but are more of the school "We are Christians and we happen to be over here perfecting our art and displaying it and we hope it glorifies God, but in any case he created us to be creative so that's who we are." ;)

Theocracy is definitely worth trying. :D They're on the melodic side of metal.
