This is where we can discus Marvels newest TV show, speculate on it befor it airs and talk about episodes once it airs. Let the Awesomeness commence.

I think he was listing the actors, and I'm pretty sure it's Coulson please don't hate me. It was just going to bother me all day if I didn't.

I've been curious about this show, but haven't done much research.

They haven't yet posted a video on Agent Coulson, so I'm waiting for it.

It's a new TV Show? I don't think I knew about this. Hmm, I shall have to do some searching and looking into it!

I saw it too. It was pretty good. A lot of the stuff from the trailers ruined some of the funny parts, but at least the trailer seemed to only come from the pilot episode, so there should be some cool surprises ahead. Looking forward to it!

*grumbles* I missed it.

Because we don't have internet at home.
And we don't have DVR.
And my mother wanted to watch NCIS
Grr.

My dad surreptitiously switched channels during commercial breaks, but we still didn't see much. But Agent Coulson rocks! He's so wonderful and it's so amazing that he's not dead. Not really sure if that's a spoiler to anyone or not... o.O I must admit, I wasn't expecting the Brits to infiltrate SHIELD. But I certainly am not complaining. ;)

I'm certainly curious and want to see an episode. I noticed the pilot was online. I'll have to find some free time and see what all this hullabaloo is about. ;)

Yeah, the S.H.I.E.L.D./NCIS demographics and statistics on who would watch what without DVR said that most younger men (18-49 - or something) would watch S.H.I.E.L.D., and older viewers might leave NCIS because of what's going to happen in NCIS - Ziva leaving but anyway...

Can we please put anything relating to the actual episodes in Spoiler format? I have the pilot recorded on DVR, but have not gotten a chance to watch it yet.I'm not sure if that thing about the Brits relates to the episode or if you're making a joke or something...

*happy sigh* They showed the premier again on a different night and I got to see the whole thing.

Agent Coulson is my favorite character and the only reason, to me, that the show is interesting. Superhero TV show? Wonderful. Agent Coulson on a superhero tv show? :dieshappy:

Love the whole 'dark corridor with a light-bulb out' thing. I was grinning so hard it hurt. I would have been laughing aloud, except that the moment was too epic for that. And the truth serum. Did I miss something with that? That was for real, right? Oh, and Lola! LOVE Lola! "Don't touch Lola". LOL What is it with his dry, quiet, almost selfconscious but totally in charge personality that makes him so funny?

Any guesses as to what happened in Tahiti? I don't think he's a clone or an android, but that's just opinion and it is, after all, superhero stuff so they can do whatever they want. But the thing that I think really makes Coulson great is that he's so human in a world full of special/mutated people. XD

Saw it and loved it! I can't wait for the next episode. :D I think Fitz and Simmons are my favorite characters next to Coulson. I wonder what the doctor meant when he said Coulson can never know something. Never know what?!

*reads some of the theories* These are pretty funny.

My favorite so far is that Coulson is the kid named Phil in Captain America. That would just be cool and explains his vintage card set and such. But I'm really not much of a conspiracy theorist myself and am sticking--for now--with the simple answer: Fury lied about Coulson's death. He didn't really die. So there. ;)

I've watched it. It was awesome.

Here's some Coulson theories: http://screenrant.com/agents-of-shield-coulson-alive-theories-explained/

Loved the truth serum part, though the end sort of confused me for five seconds: I thought they really shot Mike, then, after seeing the lights on Ward's gun, Fitz standing next to him with a sweaty face (Probably from running with the cold-thing), and saw the blue-freeze-thing affect Mike and the Extremis disappearing, then I got it.

Also, I like how they explained Extremis. It's good so if you haven't watched or heard of any of the movies, you can still understand it, and it is not dumbed down for those who have seen the movies.

Yeah, I reacted the same way. But that scene was the best part of the whole episode, in my opinion. It carried the theme through (nobody's a nobody) and showed that at great cost, the agents weren't going to kill Michael.

Not yet. Will post my thoughts when I do. Heard Samuel L. Jackson shows up as Nick Fury.

Hey guys,

For future reference, when we're talking about episodes, why don't we say which episode we're talking about outside of spoiler code so that those of us who have yet to see Episode 2 (ahem, ahem) don't think we're still all talking about Episode 1 and get spoilered. ;)

So, for example:

Episode 1: Truth serum scene was awesome
Episode 2: Something about Columbia, but I haven't seen it yet.

Watched Episode 2 and enjoyed it except for the fact that Nick Fury is such a grump. But then there's this gruffness he always seems to have, so I guess that's how he really is. Poor Phil! *pats Coulson on the head*

Well, Fury is a liar, but if it was easy enough that Coulson just didn't die, there would be no reason for him to not actually know what happened. Simply not dying doesn't make a whole of sense. Plus Tahiti and it's magicalness is important.

Finally! got to watch the second episode and therefore shall revert to spoiler-talk for the remainder of this post:

Episode 2:
Okay, so I loved it. Just...love! Fury's concern over Lola is really quite touching. And yes, the fish tank. LOL Personally, I loved the bit where Skye asks "You took a bullet?!" and Coulson just looks at her, "-ish." I rewatched that scene a dozen times.

Also, loved the part when Reyes is being all flirty and Coulson knows exactly what she's doing.

However, I do think the show is lacking somewhat. The writing in places is enormously clever, and in others it kind of falls flat. Especially, it seems, with Ward and Skye. Is this just me? (This probably doesn't actually need to be spoiler-ed, but I'm going to for now. Besides, it makes my post look longer and more epic. XD

I felt the same way! I think Whedon's trying to be too clever and shoving too much stuff together so that the watcher cannot truly appreciate the work.

None of these are big spoilers, mostly talking about the writing of the show, but with some mentions of jokes from...

Episode #3

I don't think it's that, exactly. (Have you seen BBC's Sherlock? Every other line is something very clever, but it totally works.) It's not that he's cramming too much stuff in...it's like they get in their one-liners and then fall back on the rather cheesy soap-opera type drama.

I figured out what was missing. The human element that makes the feeling that these are real people we can empathize with, and not caricatures or something. It arrived in this episode, finally, and I can see Whedon's great strength unfolding.

Yep, noticed it. :) Episode #3 spoiler: And I knew Skye wouldn't 'betray' S.H.I.E.L.D.

I think Skye still has some loyalty issues that need to be worked out but as time goes bye shell come to realize that shield are the good guys, maybe not always in the right, but the good guys none the less.
