I'm going to go out on a limb here and ask if anyone but me watches Korean TV dramas.

I began watching them over Christmas break to expose myself more to the Korean language and culture and came to find them very entertaining. I've watched more than once series that has left me asking, "So...that's it? That's how it ends?" Yet, I have also watched other series that left me quite pleased with the turnout. One in particular left me emotionally disabled for over a month. (Essentially, I was blown away by a huge, climactic plot twist that left me screaming. Weeks later and I was still recovering. Well done, screenwriters, well done).

Now, I'm going to be a stereotypical, uncultured American and say: Before I started learning Korean, I had a difficult time telling Asian people apart from each other. Now that I've been able to immerse myself (as much as one can through the Internet) in the Korean culture, it's much easier for me to tell one from another. A good example: It's like owning five orange tabby cats and being able to tell them apart as the owner versus the friend who comes over and can't tell one from another.

There's my bit. :)

I find it really hard to watch something that is subtitled, unless it is a really gripping plot, I just can't persevere with watching and reading the screen all the time. The only one I was able to get into was The Killing, a Danish TV Series, but that's the only one. :P

I need to see some K-dramas...but after I get settled here with internet connections, etc. Villi recommended one to me that I don't know the name of but it looked exciting.

Korean dramas are very popular here though I don't get to see so much. :( I do have a list of favorites though! :) (Wow, I suddenly want to watch them again!) I'd like to start watching their historical dramas. I hear that they're really good and show so much about their culture and important events that happened in the past.

Haha, oh Korean Dramas. There is just something about them that is so ridiculously addicting. I can't even really explain it. I watched Playful Kiss and got half way through Boys Over Flowers.

Faith (The Great Doctor / Shinui 신의) is the one Mel was trying to remember ;) (it's an historical drama that I found quite gripping :D).

Besides that one, I've watched City Hunter and am partially through Flower Boy Next Door (as well as have started The Fire Goddess -- a currently airing historical drama). Other than those, I've only tried two others and didn't really get into them *shrugs*

Calen! I've been meaning to learn more Korean/start learning Korean. I have a friend who, besides getting me into kdramas, knows a few phrases in Korean so Ive been pestering her P: *tries to figure out how this could become mutually beneficial*
(In an attempt to make myself learn more, I installed the Korean keyboard on my phone and laptop: 안녕! -- many long nights with google translate to help me with this :P Aiyiyi)
