I didn't see a thread up for this so I thought I'd open one. I was just curious to see if there was anyone on here besides me who'd seen the show, and if so, what they thought about it.
For those of you who don't know about it, it's a tv series on the CW about the fictional superhero Green Arrow. Although it has a lot of similarities to Batman, it's pretty good and I'm really enjoying it.

I have wondered about this show, but have not watched any of it yet. :D

I watched the first few episodes of the first series, but I was driven away by the incredibly annoying narration and the silly teen network drama. I guess that's something I should expect when watching CW though.

I thought it was okay, I just couldn't stand it after a while. :'(

You ought to watch one episode. Like I said, it's not too bad and I find it to be more decent than most of the shows that air on the CW.

I'll admit it has its faults, but I've found that the show has improved the farther it's gone. I enjoy watching it a lot more than Beauty and the Beast.

I've heard it's similar to the Smallville version of the superman tv series.

I've only seen a few episodes--and was originally under the impression that it was a modern-day Robin Hood, type of thing. But what I saw was...okay. I didn't see enough to really get into the story.

I remember the one thing I liked about it was, in one particular episode, the family relationship between some of the characters who were siblings. I don't even know their names, but one of the girls went to a party, got more than a little tipsy and was making a fool of herself in a terrible way. Another character that I remember as her brother--maybe half-brother--took her out of the party, cared for her, and drove her home. I just remember thinking that was a cool picture of family taking care of one another.

Other than that, I really haven't seen enough of the show to say.

That's what they say, but I wouldn't know as I have never watched the series.

I think I recall that episode. I believe that was Oliver Queen's sister and his best friend was the one who drove her home, but I would have to check to make sure.

I'll admit that having watched most of the series, the finale was one of the best episodes I've seen. They ended it in such a way, that I'm pretty eager to see the second season.

I just found this series recently, and was looking to see if anyone else was a fan on here :)
They've finished the 2nd season, and I am completely hooked! The plot just keeps getting better and better, and I love the way the main character, Oliver Queen, has changed. The season finale had him struggling with his desire to not kill anymore, and his desire for vengeance, and his doubt about his own ability to beat the bad guy. They resolved it wonderfully!
My favorite character is Felicity Smoak. She is so... genuine. And quirky. And smart. And loyal. And deep. She brings out the best in Oliver time and time again.

I watched "The Scientist" and "Three Ghosts" (The Flash backdoor pilot), "Blast Radius" (The one right after the aforementioned two), "The Man Under The Hood", but I haven't seen the finale yet.

In a way, the last four episodes of the season are one big finale split into four parts, because each one is intense and dramatic enough to be a finale but somehow they keep building the tension!
Also, they're really good at paying back on the little details dropped through the entire series so far. Makes it rewarding for those who pay attention ;)

Hmm, that's odd, all of the TV critics and stuff that I follow were saying that the second season was just a three-part finale (The final three episodes, including the finale).

Anyway, yeah, I like the show well enough, but my sister only watched for the backdoor pilot of Flash. Personally, I wouldn't mind watching a few more episodes with the Arrow, but I'm told that my sister has reserved the first season of Arrow from the library, so hopefully, we can get to watching that.

The last three episodes all take place on the same night, with no time lapse between them, so I can see how that would make it a 3-part finale.
I was thinking mainly of tension, though, and episode 20 is INTENSE. Definitely finale-level tension happening there. Plus the death of a major character. So I guess it depends on how you look at it.

I love Arrow series. =) The plot is great. Even with each season comes a new year on the 'island'.

(Off topic: You guys going to watch Flash?)

Sadly, I ended up losing track of the series, so I will have to try and see if I can catch some of the episodes when they reair them.

Has anyone seen the spin-off they're now doing for the Flash? ;)

I haven't because, again, it's on at a bad time. But it looks fun. I'll have to get these on DVD someday to try watching. *nodnod*

I have. The beginning had me concerned for a bit because it looked like it would be a dud, but it picked up and turned out better than the season 3 premier of Arrow.

Very bland. After getting tighter with the suspense and action in season two, this season felt like all the steam just got let out. The one redeeming feature was Black Canary getting killed.

I've only seen the premiere so far, and I liked it, but I have heard lots of people saying that.

Last episode where Roy thinks he killed Sara was actually one of the best of the season. Some character named Cupid is arriving in the next, though, and it's not exactly looking promising.

So. I've finally started actually watching this show. My family has borrowed the first season and we're hoping to be able to watch it all before we have to return it. XD I must say, I'm really liking this show. Bits are melodramatic, but it's fairly well written and the dialogue is good and there isn't a single character I'm not fascinated by at this point.

One thing bothers me right now: The actor playing Oliver/Arrow reminds me extremely-much of the actor who played Simon Tamm in Joss Whedon's Firefly/Serenity. As far as I can see, they aren't related and they don't really look alike, but their mannerisms and speech patterns--that kind of quiet, almost delicate wryness--is frighteningly similar. I know a lot of people have never seen Firefly, but I thought I'd mention it. ;)

Soooooo, I watched the whole first season. O.O

Watching this show: "I LOVE THIS SHOW. I FLIPPING ADORE THIS SHOW." Watching the first season, I have completely fallen in love with Tommy XD and am very protective of him. So through each episode I'm just silently pleading "please don't hurt him, please don't hurt him, please don't hurt him." And by the end of the season he has been hurt so much that my thought turns to "please don't let him be a bad guy, please don't turn him into a villain, please don't let him turn bad." And then I watched the finale, and the final seconds of the finale were all "WHAT. No. They're a main character, you don't have to go save them, they'll be fine, I'm worried about you! Don't die, don't die, don't--" *stunned silence* *choked sobbing* I HATE THIS SHOW."

And now I'm in various stages of denial.

I can't say I cared for Tommy, so when he got killed, it was no great loss for me. Overall, I think the first and second season of Arrow was better than the third. One of its few redeeming features is having Ray Palmer in there.
