This may be labeled as more a of a girl-reader series, since there's quite a bit of romance--not the gross kind--, but I love these allegorical books by Anne Elisabeth Stengl. Her style feels like so many of the rich old fairy tales and, well, suffice it to say that I absolutely love these books and can't wait for the latest to arrive. (Books in the series include Heartless, Veiled Rose, Moonblood, and the soon-to-come Starflower)

Anyone here read them? If not, you should. Really. I mean it. :dieshappy:

I've heard of them, and am interested in trying them.

You should, they're fantastic. Although, as I said, you might not appreciate them as much as I did, because of the romantic aspects of the stories. ;) My dad read the first one, gave me a weird look and said 'I don't know why you liked this so much' I just shrugged.

That being said, there are all sorts of cool battles and funny characters. Especially in Heartless, the first and--so far--my favorite.

Hmm I recognise the authors name. I haven't read them though. :)

They sound cool. :) Sometime when I have time I'll check it out from the library.

I read the first one, Heartless, and I enjoyed it. The author has a poetic writing style that fits the fairy tale setting well.
