Anyone seen this movie? My Mum and Dad went and saw it when we were on holidays, they came home, basically told us four older ones to get in the car, drove us to the cinema, and they let us see it because they knew we would love it. :D

It's a favourite for our whole family. The robots are just... So! Cool! :D Thoughts? Opinions? Favourite parts? Non-favourite parts?

This has been on my list to watch for ages now, Bushy! I have seen the trailer and it looks awesome. My sister and I are waiting for a night when we're in together, and we're gonna go to the rental shop and rent it for the night. I think it will be one we will both enjoy. :)

I can't wait to hear what you think of it! My family loves it. It's sci-fi enough to be sci-fi, yet not so distant it's far-fetched. All my siblings and I now want a giant robot to park in the paddock and play with.

*Chuckles*

Well, when we watch it I'll let you know what I thought. :)

I thought this movie quite nice.

I didn't like their warped family view much though, and it had the usual Hollywood trope of the the kid being always right.

But the story idea and the robots were quite clever.

I have to disagree with Yehoshua on the warped family. It is primarily about redeeming a family relationship in which Hugh Jackman is a total idiot and unwilling to be a father.

Language aside, I loved this movie! It was one of those movies I went into going "why do I preview movies for the Library again?" and came out going "Now that was worth my 2 hours.

Agreed, it was another dysfunctional family, but I'm glad they painted it in a way that Hugh Jackman realized and recognized his mistake, and made an effort to put it right.
