I was wondering if anyone has read the book Holes by Louis Sachar. I just read it this year and I LOVED it! It's kind of an easy book, but it is really well crafted so I think most people would like it. I don't want to spoil anything, so I won't give a summary. I hope you will like it if you read it.  Oh and the book got a Newberry Medal!

I really enjoyed this book! Actually, I read it after watching (and enjoying) the movie, which was done very close to the book.I thought it was an awesome read! The way all the ends tied up at the finish was very well done; something I'd love to achieve in my own writing. It had a similar feel to 'The Westing Game' by Ellen Raskin. |

My younger sister just read the book and she loved it too. I watched the movie with her for the second time just 2 days ago. The movie is extremely accurate.

I read the book for the Read-a-thon. Evening recommended it to me, 'cause she read it last year and really liked it.

I didn't even know it was a book (shoulda figured). I only knew it was a movie, which I have not seen. Is it worth reading/seeing? |

It's a really, really good book. Like Emmy said, it's not a difficult read, but the plot is brilliant. Of all the books I've read, it has the best crafted storyline next to the Harry Potter series. *clamps a lid on that can of worms* I can't think of any content I wouldn't want my ten-year-old sister reading - actually, she's read it.  The book was better than the movie, in my opinion, and I think you would enjoy it more if you read the book before seeing the movie. The book contains more detail to the plot elements. So yes, it's a really good book and I would recommend it to anyone and everyone.
