Have any of you ever read "Seize the Story" by Victoria Hanley?
It is a guide to writing fiction, directed at teens. I got it at the library, and it was really fun to read. The author writes with humor and understanding, and gives very clear examples of mistakes new authors make, and how to avoid them. She even has some tips on how to improve your imagination.
This book is especially suited to us Holy Worlders, because the author is very familiar with the fantasy genre. She stresses describing scenes with all of your senses, and give tips about suspension of disbelief.
This is probably the book that inspired me to WRITE. The advice is encouraging, and inspiring. I highly recommend this book for any young aspiring author.
