Has anyone seen this movie before? We just watched it last night as a family and thought it was pretty good. It's based of a video game (which I had no idea of until last night.) Here's some info/ratings of my own: Rated: PG-13 Violence: 7 (on a 1 -10 scale) There are a lot of action sequences (which are pretty awesome in their choreography) and the characters are put in a lot of tricky situations, but it really keeps you captivated. I had a hard time concentrating on my knitting with this one! Gore: 4 (on a 1 -10 scale) There is some blood, not as much as in Lord of the Rings (in my opinion). You do see a digitalized snake get cut open. I am squeamish, but I was able to watch it. Others may want to look away depending on your personal sensitivity. Sexual content: None. Romance: Some. It's one of those inevitable hero & princess combos. There is kissing, but nothing hugely graphic or nasty about it. Other notes: One of the main characters, the princess, does tend to wear some immodest clothing. I wasn't bothered by it, but some people are. There is one scene that they do pan in to her bust, but to the purpose to show a pendant hanging down into her shirt. (I thought it was unnecessary, to say the least.) All in all, I thought it was a pretty decent movie and I would watch it again. (I love the costumes!!) I hope this was helpful! ~Calen |

I saw the film, and enjoyed it. There were multiple innuendos I could have lived without, but the setting held me captivated. I was impressed with how they ended the film, my only dislike being how they tied up the love interest in the end. I would see it again, but I'm also a huge fan of action films |

I loved it, I thought it was pretty clean really; I'd be happy to let my little sister watch it, although there was some kissing which, yea I could have done without! I'd definitely watch it again. I've watched films with more violence in than this, so it was pretty tame to me on that score. |

*tears into thread like a whirlwind, and sits down in the middle* I. love. this. movie! Ok, now that's out of the way, my Mum and Dad went and saw it at the movies and loved it. Then when it came out on DVD they bought it for my brothers and I to watch, and we thoroughly enjoyed it! There wasn't much "stuff" in it. (Our word for any of that icky content) And the action was awesome! I also loved the ostrich racing guy. He was a crackup!! "No matter my skills as a promoter... you can't have an ostrich race with just, one, OSTRICH! It had one of the ultimate perfect endings I've ever seen, too. Ok, so I could rant on a very long time about this movie, and quote it backwards and forwards, but I'll cut myself off here. |

I must agree I really like this movie. It's colorful, funny, and the action/fight scenes are so cool (wish I knew martial arts). As for the kissing, once you're married you'll appreciate it. hee hee (Before I got married -which wasn't that long ago-, I didn't care for the kissing either, but now, well, *blush* if they're kissing, then I have to too!) |

I don't mind kissing. When my parents kiss I don't go "eeeewww!". In fact, when anyone I know kisses their spouse I don't have that reaction. I'm just not fond of watching unmarried couples kiss. Believe me, I don't have a problem with kissing And I appreciated it wasn't one of those spit slobber affairs |

Believe me, I don't have a problem with kissing I'm the person who goes "eeeewww!" when my parents kiss, simply to mess with them (and they kiss to mess with me sometimes). It's just something I do. So I take it that most people would recommend this movie? I've been wanting to see it, but I haven't yet. I heard there were issues with the storyline, would you agree? Looking forward to hearing more. |

I've never been able to cope with kissing, I never even let my Mum kiss me haha. I just can't stand it *laughs*. Yea I say ewww as well if my parents decide to start acting 'silly'. I didn't notice any issues with the plot Rose, although once someone points them out I might go aaah yes! |

I love this movie! Based off of Assassins Creed I believe, so it has those really cool jumping on the roof scenes, and cool fighting techniques. Dasdan*.... Eh, could have picked a better actor, I think, but I guess he did a pretty good job. Tamina**... She is such a beautiful actress, and has a beautiful mouth when she speaks. I like to listen to her voice (pretty accent). She also played in Clash of the Titans! My dad watched it about six times in the span of a week, so that means that he liked it. *&**- probably not the way their names are spelled, but I tried. |

I think it's "Dastan". When I first heard Tamina's voice it was so metallic and high, I also thought "She sounds a bit sissy..." but she ended up doing a great job too! |

I liked Jake playing the role of Dastan. I thought he was really good for the part. Tamina surprised me. I acutually liked her in the end. I was shocked. |

I loved the movie, myself. I've watched it twice so far, and I don't really have any problems with it. I like how Tamina didn't ruin the whole movie for me... she was annoying at first, but it wasn't overdone, and she was kind of likable in the end. The jumping around across roofs and such looked rather amazing, whether possible or not. Just saying XD Some people may not like the ending, but I personally thought it was really good. I would have to say this is one of the movies I like most. |

All of the jumping around on roof-tops and a lot of the fighting sequences were straight out of Assassins Creed though, there is no way of getting around that! I actually thought that they were making an assassins creed movie when I first saw the previews! |

The first Prince of Persia game came out in 1989 so I don't think it was copying Assassins Creed. |

I LOVE this movie too. Saw it in the theater and then rented the DVD and then bought it. It has a good ending, I guess, but it annoyed me. I wanted some tragedy in there somewhere. And he's the only one who really experienced all that. I just thought there could have been a better ending... |

Luke! Why must it always be tragedy with you? I am glad there was no tragedy at the end. I loved the ending, aside from the relational aspect between the MC and love interest. I thought that could have been handled better, but the rest was perfect! And a surprising twist. I was wondering how on earth it was all going to work out. |

Wow! I'm glad to see the movie has had pretty good reception. ^^ Note: Don't read my pros and cons for fear of spoiling anything if you haven't seen the movie. Personal Pros and Cons about the ending: Pros: I liked how none of the characters dies in the end for once. Cons: I was expecting Tamira to remember what happened for some reason. I'll admit to being taken off guard at her ignorance of what occurred throughout the movie. ~Calen |

Same to your cons, Calen. Personally that was a little disappointing, if they wrapped it up some way that she knew what went on would be nice. But I guess the good thing about this way, was that she had a different (and higher) opinion of him upon their first meeting. Also, I think she pretty much guessed what went on. |

They could've made the princess remember what happened and it would make sense...after all, she was the special lady in charge of the dagger. But then I suppose they'd have to change the scene where he first uses it. |

Just randomly jumping in here cause I missed this thread earlier. I LOVED the movie. I had no interest whatsoever in it so I was very pleasantly surprised. I shouldn't have been. I such a fan of action/adventure movies. And it was great to see one this clean. I thought the ending was great. I think it would have been cool if she would have remembered what happened, but then again, this way they got to fall in love all over again (hopeless romantic speaking |

I saw this the other day and here is the review I wrote. Initial response: “I think I’ll go play a video game…” This was a fun movie. It was about as shallow as the kiddy pool but not really annoying. I liked the whole dagger thing but the random Ninja/Nazgul dudes were silly. The story was rather typical and I figured it out pretty quick but it was a bit of a surprise at the ending (which I won’t tell you cause it would ruin it.) It made me like the movie quite a bit more. The theme of brotherhood through the movie was good I would have liked to have seen that more. Nothing about the movie was really bad, but none was really good. Jake Gyllenhaal seemed rather strained putting on the British accent but other than that all the acting was fairly good. (Alfred Molina was really quite funny. And probably the best actor.) I was glad the movie didn’t take itself to seriously. A lot of time these kind of movies try to be all serious and just annoy everyone. This movie was like “we know Persia wasn’t really like this. But it was cool though!” This is probably the best video game to movie I’ve seen. I haven’t played the game but the movie really felt like a movie and not some kind of fan video for the game. So I would give the movie 3 stars. |
