logical inconsistencies

Secret of Nimh scared me as a kid and I don't remember anything about it except it giving me bad dreams.

I watched The Secret of Nimh over and over when I was little. Man, I hadn't thought about it for a while.

Can't remember much about it, except that the rats gave me the shivers. :shock:

Most of the logical problems were with the cats, such as the idea of being able to stick all the cats in NY on a ship and send them away. However, I realize it's meant to be allegorical.

An American Tale is really cute, and I love the sequel, Fievel Goes West. Those are fun movies.

That is somewhat illogical, but what about the fact that the mice can think and build huge things and wear clothes :rofl:

It's a cartoon it's not suppose to reflect reality so it didn't bother me.

The Pebble and the Penguin was sort of weird, but the rockhopper was entertaining, and I like All Dogs Go to Heaven, but there were some scenes which scared me. Anastasia scared me as well. (I was terrified of movies when I was little

)

Don Bluth was a director of animated films who, for awhile, was considered the only serious competitor to Disney. Here is a list of his films: The Secret of NIMH An American Tail The Land Before Time All Dogs Go to Heaven Rock-a-Doodle Thumbelina A Troll in Central Park The Pebble and the Penguin Anastasia Titan A.E. Have you seen any of Don Bluth’s films? If so, what did you think of them?

Thumbelina and The Secret of NIMH are stupid, but An American Tail is (IMHO) the best traditionally animated movie ever (I think it had to do with the fact that Steven Spielberg was the executive producer.) (The Rats of NIMH, (the book which The Secret of NIMH is "based" on) is quite good though.)

An American Tail is good, despite some logical inconsistencies. The Secret of NIMH is so different from the book that it's hard to compare them, though I thought both the movie and the book were decent in their own way.

I loved Thumbelina when I was little. I've seen Anastasia a couple times, and didn't mind it (though the bad guy was a little creepy...), and I liked Secret of Nimh. I greatly disliked All Dogs Go to Heaven, though. The Land Before Time was okay, except they got their facts wrong.

Anastasia and All Dogs Go to Heaven were okay. Thumbelina would have probably been okay, too, except that it got too silly in some parts. The Land Before Time was good, other than getting some of the facts wrong. Has anyone seen the numerous sequels to The Land Before Time?

I've seen every single one of these except Titan A.E. I grew up on them, along with Disney. All Dogs Go to Heaven was one of my favorites! I also love An American Tail. Secret of Nimh scared me as a kid and I don't remember anything about it except it giving me bad dreams. I fell in love with Littlefoot and followed along his journey of growing up when I was a kid. And I liked Anastasia. The only Princess I did like growing up. Troll in Central Park gave me the creeps too, when I was a kid. I don't even think I made it through the whole thing...

I've noticed I like Don Bluth's movies a bit less as an adult, but when I was a kid, I watched An American Tail and The Land Before Time over and over again.

Obviously, neither of them scared me when I watched them recently.

When I was little, I saw Secret of Nimh and was terrified. I think it was the lab rats. An American Tale is really cute, and I love the sequel, Fievel Goes West. Those are fun movies. Used to watch The Land Before Time constantly. Well, the sequels, I never liked the first one. Too sad! The Pebble and the Penguin was sort of weird, but the rockhopper was entertaining, and I like All Dogs Go to Heaven, but there were some scenes which scared me. Anastasia scared me as well. (I was terrified of movies when I was little ) I can't say any of these competed with Disney movies for me, especially not The Lion King. But they're very good in their own style. Some of them I would love to see again.

(I was terrified of movies when I was little ) LOL Ciela, my trademark line for any movie (especially one with the THX sound effect in it) was "I don't want to watch this movie!" in a very small voice. A friend of ours played it at his wedding, and true to form, in the middle of it, someone says "I don't want to watch this movie!"

The only Don Bluth movie I haven't seen is The Pebble and the Penguin. Of the others, I enjoyed An American Tail and The Land Before Time a lot; The Secret of NIMH, All Dogs Go to Heaven, Rock-a-Doodle, Anastasia, and Titan A.E. somewhat; and Thumbelina and A Troll in Central Park just a little. I'm not sure if I want to try The Pebble and the Penguin or not.

No, I never did. I had never heard of it when I was child, and now I'm not sure if I want to see it since it was made after Bluth's films started declining in quality.
