No... because then they just end up saying that the whole movie was their favorite. :dieshappy: I think it's actually better when people can't choose their favorite part, because it means it's either awful or incredibly good. :D

And in this case, it's incredibly good. :D

I've seen it now. It's amazing. Don't all go after me with pikes and arrows when I say this, but on the epic scale, I think it may have beaten LotR.

The second credit scene was hilarious. Anyone recognize the guy in the first credit scene?

For Black Widow, she was amazing. It's a shame she didn't have more screen time in the other movies. She and Hawkeye were great together. For modesty, the only time she was out of her combat suit was right in the beginning when Whedon was showing her reverse interrogation skills. (The one where she's tied to the chair and takes out the four guys).

I have been hearing such good reviews of this from my friends as well, I think I might have to go and see it!

Yes. Very thrilling.

The Avengers now has the largest opening weekend (In the US) in history.

*sighs* And yet, I still haven't seen it...and won't for likely some time. :'(

Which means that I am still waiting.

And I still find it nearly impossible. Then again, I have to wait until December of 2013 for something else really awesome that I can't wait for but that discussion would totally derail this one so I won't even bring it up. ;)

My sister also went with me, and we both loved it. It feels like a long time since we both went to the cinema and absolutely loved what we saw, but last night was one of them. :D It is so funny in parts, the whole cinema was just laughing. I thought it was hilarious when Loki says to the Hulk, something like 'get out of the way you little man, I am a god.' Then the next minute the Hulk is just swinging him around and beating him on the floor. Hehe, I loved that part. So yes, I was worried when I first went in, because I thought I might not like it, but definitely it was worth seeing. I'd go and see it again, and when it comes out on DVD, it will be on my shelf. Mother and Dad are thinking of taking Rachel to see it.

Yeah, that was a great part. Everyone in the theater when I went were either laughing or applauding at that part.

Yeah, I think I'd love to see it again, maybe with some of my friends.

I went and saw it with a few of my siblings and a friend last night. :dieshappy: I thought it was great! :D I really enjoyed it. (Plus, it kinda added to it with us all sitting together talking and laughing all the way through it.)

I can't choose my favourite quote, there were so many good ones!

"You have no idea what you're dealing with!" "...Shakespeare in the park? Doth mother know you weareth her drapes?"
"We need a plan of attack!" "I have a plan: attack."
"Is everything a joke to you?" "If it's funny."
"Take care how you speak. Loki is beyond reason, but he is of Asgard. And he is my brother." "He killed eighty people in two days." "He's adopted."
"Ma'am, there's only one God, and I'm pretty sure he doesn't dress like that."
"Even I don't know what it does." [later] "So that's what it does..."

I also loved the scene where the Hulk smashed Loki. "Puny god."

But yes. I quite enjoyed it. :D

*really really really really really wants to see that movie*

I coulda added several more of the word 'really' up there, to better describe my desire to see the movie, but then my fingers might fall off. ;)

Ehem. Hyperbole aside, it looks amazingly awesome. Terra and I are trying to talk our parents into taking us for our birthday. *crosses fingers*

I saw it!!!! :dieshappy: And I loved it! I haven't seen any of the preceding movies (though now I want to), but I was able to follow along fine. It was really awesome. :D

I might go again, if my brothers see it. ^_^ Hulk was my favorite character, but they were all really good!

I thought the whole story and all the characters were just brilliant. It was a fun, awesome ride. :D

Yup.

Plus, some research showed who the guy in the first credit scene was, and he's the villain in the next Avengers movie, it's going to be even bigger than this movie, maybe with even a massive cross over movie with X-Men, and Spidey.

They're going to make an Avengers 2?

This makes me happy. :dieshappy:

Although, I'm not surprised. This is Hollywood. They always make sequels for movies that do well. ;)

They're also making a Thor 2 and a Captain America 2 if I remember correctly. I think also an Iron Man 3, and maybe another Hulk movie? Again, I think so... I definitely know about CA 2. But I'm pretty sure the rest is accurate.

Yep. Like you said, they're making sequels to all of them.

His name is Thanos. He's a super-powerful alien dude whose in love with the personification of Death (Thus the comment that challenging the Avengers would be courting death) and at one point in the comics, he wiped out half of all life in the universe and it took every superhero to defeat him.

Long spoiler about his identity, I know.

Chris Evans (Captain America) is signed on for 6 films (what? I take my movie research seriously before we watch them or consider them for our library). When asked for the breakdown, that meant 2, possibly 3 CA, or 3, possibly 4 Avengers. Chris Hemsworth (Thor) is also signed on for 5 or 6... can't remember which.

Ahhh. I thought he was Red Skull returning. :? Are you sure it's not Red Skull? Maybe Red Skull will return at some point in another Avengers movie, though. Because he transported with the tesserac. (At least, that's what my older sister and I think...) Anywho, that dude sounds like a good villain, too. I just feel partial to Red Skull because he was Captain America's villain.

 Coolio. :D At this point, it seems the movies they are making just keep getting better and better, so I think that the sequels will be good. Why go downhill when you have found a way to create excellent hero films? That'd only lose them money in the long-run anyways.

He's Thanos. It's been confirmed by Entertainment Weekly, and verified by those who read even more comics than I have. His weapon he uses, the Infinity Gauntlet, was seen in Asgard's treasure room, as well, so he may be the villain for Thor 2.

So... Uh... Yeah... I was with some friends and some of my older brother's friends and my older brother... and they decided they wanted to go see the Avengers (some of them for a second time), and so I went with them... So I've now seen it three times. It's still awesome. :D I just wish I hadn't been so tired when watching it.

Surprisingly, the theater was almost empty when we went! :0 It was kind of sad, because one thing that did make it so awesome the first time I saw it was the theater was packed and everyone was so into it, laughing and cheering. Tonight people hardly laughed. I'm guessing they did inside. :)

Anywho, I think my "Avengers" craving to see it again and again has now been satisfied and I can patiently wait for it to come out on DVD now. You know what they say. Third time's the charm!

And after seeing the clip at the end, I think you're right. It doesn't look quite like the Red Skull. :bawl: But maybe he will return for another Avenger's or CA movie. :D

I hope this is the beginning of a long string of Joss Whedon-influenced movies that all tie together. And I can't wait to go see it again. :D

*mumbles to self* I have Iron Man 1 and 2 and The Incredible Hulk on DVD, so now I need Hulk and Captain America and Thor, and then The Avengers when it comes out...

Tonight is a girl's night, and Motherdy is humoring her eldest by taking me to see Avengers. :D I am very thrilled, obviously.

Was anyone else absolutely thrilled that Loki didn't die? I was. :) He's wonderful, and Tom Hiddleston has done a great job portraying him!

Joss Whedon stated that he would want a sequel to be ". . . smaller. More personal. More painful. By being the next thing that should happen to these characters, and not just a rehash of what seemed to work the first time. By having a theme that is completely fresh and organic to itself."

^_^ Just found this quote. Joss Whedon is about the only director/writer I can think of who could pull off a successful sequel to The Avengers. Let's just hope the plans to keep him on don't fall through.

Oh, man...if Loki dies...that WOULD be really painful. *shudder* He has the best hair and the cutest smile of any super villain ever, anywhere. ;)

*walks into thread. Notices above comment. Walks right back out*

Fun fact: shawarma sales have increased greatly after the movie came out.

Adored the film. Course, I had a feeling I would.

And for all you poor wonderful people who watched the movie without seeing Thor, Captain America, Iron Man, and the Hulk.... you missed out on so much!!! Plus, not having watched those, Thor in particular, you miss some of the nuances between the brothers.

Oh, and the whole shawarma thing was a priceless Stark moment. For that matter, there were lots of moments in the film that were just absolutely, delightfully Tony Stark. Like poking Banner with the pen to try and get him to "loose control and turn into that big raging green thing".

And this movie is sooo quotable!

I’ll be getting this one. :D

My dad hasn't seen it yet so I I'm taking him sometime this week. Best part is I found a place that sells shawarma near the theater, so you can guess where we're going for dinner after the movie. :dieshappy:
