*picks up thread and dusts it* So. Thoughts anyone? The season finale is next week. Has Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. lived up to your expectations or has it disappointed you in some places? What are your thoughts about some of the plot twists that happened in the most recent episodes. (Don't forget to use the SPOILER tags! ;) )

Officially been renewed for Season 2, and Agent Carter was picked up to series.

So excited!

Oh, side note: If my sister and I continue to watch episodes post-release of The Winter Soldier, how much spoilers will we get in relation to what happens in the movie? I already have a few: Garrett is evil, working for H.Y.D.R.A., and Ward is a sleeper agent of H.Y.D.R.A., and S.H.I.E.L.D. was pretty much infiltrated with H.Y.D.R.A. folks since the beginning, etc., etc., but do they ever say that specifically in the series? I'm trying to determine how risky it will be to watch S.H.I.E.L.D. without having seen The Winter Soldier yet.

I think you'll be fine watching SHIELD. The movie and show tie in pretty well, but they don't spoil each other too much aside from the HYDRA fiasco. At least, so far I don't think there's anything else really. I would still definitely recommend watching the movie as soon as you can though!

I agree. Basically the HYDRA fiasco is spoiled either way, whichever one you watch first. They certainly are connected and one helps to explain the other. I think, chronologically, TWS actually happens first, but it doesn't really matter. Things are tied up and explained when you are able to see both, but you should be fine doing one or the other. :)

On a side note, am I the only one a bit put out by ABC.com's "verify to watch" thing? I don't have a "tv provider" so I can't verify. I just watch what they let me. And right now, that means I can't watch the second-to-last episode that's out because for some reason that's the one you have to verify, not the most recent one.

Anyway. I love this show. SO excited that there will be a Season 2! :dieshappy:

I don't know. That sounds aggravating. My family got a DVR a few years ago, which helped us survive the 2012-2013 TV season, so we just record programs and watch them whenever we have time.

The only TV shows I watch on the official sites are on NBC and FOX, and I don't recall anything like that on either of those sites, except FOX, maybe once for a few days, but then it switched back.

Exciting, all right!

I agree with the others, it's just the Hydra thing. Oh, and Nick Fury's death which they mention several times during the episodes following the release of The Winter Soldier. I'm not sure if it's considered as a "real" spoiler though...

That's all.

My brain cannot coherently digest this yet. So.

I really liked the finale myself. :) I physically teared up quite a bit, which is an accomplishment on their part.

(season finale spoilers in spoiler text)
I loved the season finale. Shield keeps getting better and better and better. At first, I was watching it for Coulson, now I'm watching it because it's literally a good show.

I thought the scene with FitzSimmons was beautiful. Yeah, I squinted a bit during their little 'energy' speech, but from a strictly scientific POV, they're sorta right. Energy is energy. It has to go somewhere. Energy isn't the essence of human life, but it is an essence of life in it's own way (but that's a huge theological/scientific debate that I know precious little about so let's not go there), so from that standpoint I was able to understand and enjoy that part. It was so very 'them', that it fit.

AND DEAR FITZ. MY DEAR WONDERFUL FITZ. DON'T DO THIS TO MY HEART.

AND IS COULSON GOING CRAZY? We just got Happy Coulson back, and now THIS??? ARE WE GOING TO HAVE CRAZY COULSON? I'm just not sure I can take that.

I got to watch the season finale with my sister on vacation and we both just huddled around the computer screen going "WHAT? WHAT NO! Awwww...NO! What? Wait. Euh? *gasp* NOOOOOO." ;)

Someone needs to shoot Ward. But then he'd be dead....so that might not work either. And Fitz needs to get better!!!

There's going to be a show about Agent Carter??

There is, yes. I think it will be in the formation of SHIELD or a little earlier. Sort of Cold War espionage type stuff, possibly.

And Mockingbird is coming to season two.

Sounds intersting! Using the same girl, or not?

Mockingbird? Sorry, the only reason I watched the Marvel movies and series was for Coulson....

Sorry everyone. Every time I learn something about the MCU, I always tell my sister, but forget to post here.

Agent Carter will be a 'filler' for S.H.I.E.L.D. when it goes on Christmas break. They get 8 episodes for season 1, which will air in January 2015.

It's set, I think, a year or so after the Marvel One-Shot (Which, in turn, was set a year after Captain America: The First Avenger), and I'm pretty sure they were talking about doing a season-long arc each season, for one 'case'.

Mockingbird sometimes works, with the Avengers and has a rather tempestuous relationship and marriage with Hawkeye.

Much like her DC counterpart Black Canary and Green Arrow.

And the only DC character I know is Batman...

Unless Superman is DC too?

*laughs* And that sentance started off so well... It must have gotten away from you.

And I don't think I would lump the Joker in that group either.... He's just a little villianous.

:) Well...in my defense, you said 'characters', not 'superheroes'...But yeah, I did put in a lot of superheroes...The Joker and Deathstroke are the only villains in that list.

Anyway! Back on subject. I did finish Season 1, finally. I'll probably fall behind on Season 2, but I am excited for it.

Ah. True.... My mistake! You make a good point.

Speaking of which, do you know when Series 2 is beginning?

I'm still perfectly willing to volunteer to shoot Ward...

To ward off Ward... *grins*

I miss the declassifieds though - those were hilarious!!

Best part of Season 2 was that episode with ALL the May. ^_^ The rest has been lackluster for me, in the shadow of that episode. :diehappyhalo

I think I'm still half an episode behind, but...

Hunter and Bobbi. O.O

FIITTZZZZ

There's a rumor they're going to be setting up the whole Marvel Civil War that was in the comics and is apparently going to happen in the movies...? :pale:

I still really can't get into this series. I don't really like any of the characters to a great degree, and can't seem to get into the story enough to want to keep up with them all.

Yup. Season 2 remains untouched for me as well. Only due to time constraints, not a lack of interest.
