Well, see, this is the brilliance. They're going to do Captain America 2. So they're going to reveal that in trying to re-acclimate to our world, Captain America figures out he really can't do anything but be a superhero. Then he meets these other three heroes, and he joins them to make the fantastic four. He becomes the Human Torch with Captain Steve Rogers as his secret identity. BOOYA! Now he's able to be TWO heroes at ONCE!!!! Brilliant, eh? How much more cool could Captain America get?

Actually... I have no idea if they'll do that or not...

*chuckles * Except, Johnny is Sue's baby brother, and Steve obviously was born way before her. :)

They just pretend. Obviously he's way older. But in order to fit into the modern world, he had to re-create himself, in a way, so he wouldn't be so out of the ordinary. That's his masquerade. ;)

We actually figured out that Steve Rogers was Sue and Johnny's grandfather, that's why Johnny looks so much like him. ;) (my siblings and I like figuring these things out)

Just wandered in, and now I'm wondering, are they still going to give Nick Fury his own film? It was rumored before that he was to have a movie, probably revolving around how he became the leader guy with that black patch eye. In that case, Hawkeye and Black Widow might be featured as the S.H.I.E.L.D. Agents. And Coulson too. Don't you just hate it when he died?

I did hear, before The Avengers was released, that there would be a Black Widow, Hawk-Eye, and Nick Fury movie coming in 2015 or beyond.

However, I have heard nothing since, as you can see on the Wikipedia page: It lists all of the projects in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Phil Coulson will return in S.H.I.E.L.D., a TV series, rumored to come Fall 2013.

Quote:
Joss Whedon has signed an exclusive deal with Marvel Studios for film and television through the end of June 2015It probably says this since Avengers 2 is targeted for a May 2015 release date. As part of that deal, Whedon will write and direct Marvel's The Avengers 2 as well as help develop a new live action series for Marvel Television at ABC. He will also contribute creatively to the next phase of Marvel’s cinematic universe.

Isn't there a girl he likes in Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer? ;) :D

Back on the Avengers note, I bought my brother a six movie Marvel pack for his birthday. ^_^ (I bought it for him, really. Honest. :beg:)

He's not dead. He's supposed to be the main character in the TV series. Unless, of course, the series is set before Avengers.

The S.H.I.E.L.D television series? That's the only tv show I know about.

That's odd then, because I read there wasn't going to be superheroes in it, just S.H.I.E.L.D. personnel.
And I meant in the comics, Peter Parker died.

I'm so sorry - I forgot to say I meant Agent Coulson. *Looks back* Yeah, I guess everyone could think I meant Peter Parker.

So, yeah, I meant Phil Coulson is going to be in the TV Series.

Well, I've always liked Spiderman... The comic book versions have always seemed uber-weird to me (the current storyline of Doc Ock being Spiderman being a perfect example), but even then I suspect they'll find some outrageous way to bring him back to life. :P

See? That's my point. Comic books and comic book characters are not required by the general public to follow logical rules or guidelines insofar as to completely obliterate any semblance of reality. But that's usually the way we like it. :dieshappy:

That storyline was what I was referencing, because apparently, Peter Parker's death changed Doc Ock and motivated him to become the next Spider-man, because of being swamped by Peter's memories and feelings.

A SHIELD tv series has been talked about for a while.

I've heard also, that they might be bringing out a Hulk tv series on ABC as well. Whether or not it will be related to the films though, I'm not sure yet.

I know that they were talking about a Hulk sequel to MCU's (Marvel Cinematic Universe - the movies) The Incredible Hulk (2008), but they weren't sure since Mark Ruffalo replaced the other guy for The Avengers.

Yeah, it says that they aren't thinking about a Hulk sequel until after Avengers 2 (2015) and Marvel says 2016, but Ruffalo signed on for 6 Marvel films (And right now, he's only confirmed to be in Avengers 2, and that's only the 2nd film).

I dunno. :P She seems to think it's too violent or something, and I have no idea what to say to her to try and convince her it's not that bad.

If you don't already know, I'd suggest finding out the specific reasons she doesn't think you should see it. If nothing else, it may make more sense then.

There IS a lot of violence - I think IMDB's Parent Guide Content Advisory put every single act of it in their Advisory page, but if she really does mean strictly violent, and not for other reasons (Which aren't completely big, but still...), so I went to IMDB's Parent Guide Advisory Page (Really helpful, though the Avengers' one was a little "Seriously? Put a spoiler tag on that. Just because you are being vague doesn't mean people don't understand - such as superhero's shield..."

Hmm...Have you watched the non-TV version of Lord of The Rings, Renna?

@Renna: Listen to your mom, by all means, of course. But I must say The Avengers was one of the cleanest super-hero movies I've ever seen--I think Thor was actually the cleanest...but then, it was pretty violent in places.

Renna, my advice would be to show your mom that you respect her advice, cheerfully, and that will show her you are growing in maturity. :) Which is a good thing, whether you get to see the film or not. Relationships with parents are much more important and lasting than getting to see a film. :)

@Mainly Varon, but others can answer too: I posted a random fact in Random Facts thread about wondering what movies would be in Phase Three of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and you said Doc Stange and Ant-Man.

It didn't seem right to respond strictly to that on Random Facts, so I'm just going to put it here: Doc Stange? I just heard of Ant-Man...

On a side note, I heard that Dr. Wu/Lu had been cast for Iron Man 3, and then I saw a pic of a "Dr. Wu" in a hospital standing next to Rhodey in dress uniform and Pepper looking worried (Possible spoiler to plot) (Probably due to the "injury that will cause Tony to get that shot of Extremis) and I thought that the Doctor was from Ant-Man, due to hearing rumors about Ant-Man fighting Chen Lu in the after-credits scene of Iron Man 3.

Yeah, I don't remember where I had seen it, but somewhere I read Doc Strange would be in Phase 3.

Hmm...Okay. Well, anyway, Phase Two is, I think official:

Iron Man 3 (May 2013)
Thor: The Dark World (November 2013)
Captain America: The Winter Soldier (April 2014)
Guardians of the Galaxy (August 2014)
Avengers 2 (May 2014)

Yeah, I think that's the official phase 2 roster.

Just wondering if anyone has found any HD screencap sites for Iron Man, Iron Man 2, and The Avengers. (Also, if anyone found sites that have HD screencaps of the Iron Man 3 trailers would be nice too)

Preferably, a place that has all of the movies, but I can settle for ones that only have one.

Also preferably, screencap sites that have screencaps taken the least amount of frames from one another, i.e. Stargate's Gateworld has the screencaps taken a respectable amount of time from each other, and I find that okay.

Screencapped.net used to have the 2 Iron Man's and screencaps from the trailers of Iron Man 3, and the Avengers, but I don't know what happened to them, they downsized or something, and I can't find the Iron Man's anymore.

Yeah, I actually saw it yesterday. I'm interested in seeing what they do with this.

Did you hear, Chris Hemsworth MIGHT not be going to play Thor any more? As well as Jeremy Renner MIGHT not play Hawkeye? I hope they keep the cast still.

*wrinkles brow * I don't think that's possible. The cast was locked in for Avengers and had to sign an agreement to play in up to 5 film (or was it 6?). So I don't think they can just walk away because it's in their contract. Loki maybe, but not Thor.

Either way, they better not!!! I like them the way they are.

I think Chris is leaving because he says that he isn't being paid right, and the director wants a different Hawkeye.

Robert Downey, Jr. is actually negotiating with Disney right now so they can stay, apparently, even offering to get paid less so they can have a pay raise.

And that disputes the rumors that Robert Downey Jr. is not going to come back for Avengers 2 or an Iron Man 4

He's definitely coming back for something, though I heard there's not going to be an Iron Man 4. Avengers 2, he will definitely be in, I think.

Yes, I heard (And got some spoilers :/ ) for Iron Man 3 and its ending seems a bit less open-ended than the others.

Though a year or two ago, someone was talking about contracts and was saying that Robert Downey Jr. had his contract expiring after Iron Man 3, Nick Fury's contract was for 6 or 7 movies, and all the other Avengers' had 5 or 6 movies too, so they were all trying to find out which movies they were going to be in. This was before the movie lineup for Phase Two came out, so some thought there was going to be a Nick Fury, Black Widow, and Hawk-eye movie.
