Outlander is a tv series developed from a book series. I haven't read the book series yet, however I have started watching the tv series.
Claire Randall has just finished serving as an army combat nurse. The war has ended, and she travels to Scotland, to Inverness with her husband Frank. They have seen very little of each other during the war, so their holiday is supposed to be 'a second honeymoon' spent getting to know the people they have become. During this holiday, Claire is swept back in time to 1743 where she is thrown into a world completely strange to her and where her life is threatened. She meets a group of highlanders there, one of whom is Jamie Fraser and that is where her story begins.
It's very hard to put this series in a specific genre. There's Historical Fiction, Sci Fi (time travel), Fantasy, Romance, Mystery and etc.
It is fast becoming my favourite TV series this year. It's all filmed on location in Scotland which is also amazing, of course!

However, there is some nudity in the series. I don't know what the books are like, but the tv series will be a 15 age rating and some people would find it totally unsuitable. I really enjoy the series and I choose to skip the scenes I don't like, but I do understand totally if this is not everyone's cup of tea and the age rating is totally justified.
Anyone else seen it?
