I just recently watched the first three of these, though I haven't seen the one that just came into theaters, and I wondered what you guys think of them.

The films get a lot right. Jason is an incredible character - he's very real, and he drives the movie as opposed to a handful of explosions and action scenes being what moves everything forward. The villains are also very real, along with the love interest, Marie. The whole premise is very engaging, and I thought all the aspects of Jason regaining who he is were handled very well.

However, what makes the premise so interesting also makes it a little iffy. After all, Jason is an assassin, paid to kill people without question. Though he does seem to consider the morality of that from time to time, it never seems to bother him when he's about to attack someone, or put normal people in harm's way.

There were also a couple other things that bothered me about the movies. Bad language, for one. And less than modest clothing pops up more than I'd like, too.

Anyway, I do like the movies, mostly because of the depth of the main character. But I wanted to know what y'all thought of them.

I've seen all three movies, and they are quite good. Although I had the same issues with language as you did, Princess. (Violence generally doesn't bother me too much)

After I first watched them though, I got really depressed. Solely because the movies have a plot that could easily enough be a true story. The manipulation of a person in such a way I found rather horrifying if I dwelt on it too long.

Getting past that however, I do enjoy the movies. The plot twists and the characters are varied and exciting. Plus, I love how Bourne is constantly trying to rectify the wrongs he unconsciously did in his past; how he tries to break from the mould people have tried to force him into. It is a fascinating story, and one that serves to go back and re-watch to get all the details out of.

The thing that I didn't like at times, was the handheld camera. It tended to get a bit much in certain spots, giving me a headache, and I wished to grab the camera man and get him to hold the bloomin' thing still for five minutes! (Although some may think that adds to the realism of it... )

Anyhow. On the whole, I think it's a pretty good trilogy. It exists on our DVD shelf at least, and that's saying something.

They're some of my favorite movies. They're action movies with brilliant action scenes, but they're also character driven. It adds a much greater depth to the story.

Did y'all know that the Bourne Legacy's alternative title was Hawkeye: Origins?

So I watched the second one again today, and realized I missed a lot of it the first time around, because I was busy with other stuff. Anyway, I love how he went to apologize to the one girl... it really showed how much he regretted a lot of what he did.

Violence doesn't really bother me, either. All the violence in these movies has a purpose, and generally helps develop Bourne's character, so I had no problem with it.





Speaking of the last one, have any of you guys seen it? I really want to, but I think I'm going to have to wait till it comes out on DVD.

No. I've not seen the new one. I'm waiting to see DKR in theaters.

I love the Bourne movies. The swearing is a really big downside, but we watch them and enjoy them so much I have written up a paper with the time each of the bad swear words and blasphemies come, so we can enjoy them to the full without the bad language.

I watched one of the extras about one of the films, there was a guy talking who had done secret agent work in the past, and he said it is all so realistic and not at all far fetched, so that makes them even more amazing to me.

I haven't enjoyed the fourth one as much, but we'll have to see how the follow ons to that work; it was just a bit confusing at times it seemed quite complicated and hard to follow.

I was so lost at some points that, after watching them once, I read their plot summaries on Wikipedia and then watched them again! (Of course, I was writing at the same time... I discovered it's very hard to multitask while watching those movies. )

My family started watching the Bourne movies for the reason that we wanted to see the latest film where one of our friends was chosen as part of the cast (crazy reason, I know ). I didn't watch with them at that time because I was too busy with work and I wasn't into those kinds of films. Or so, I thought. I watched the first three movies recently (all within one week, I think) and enjoyed it a lot, though the vulgar language made me cringe and I couldn't bear to watch some of the violent scenes.

My siblings and I were discussing the first film how he didn't succeed in killing the guy (I forget his name ) and ended up getting shot instead and losing his memory as well. That's because he saw the guy's children. We were thinking that if such a thing is a flaw for a spy or an agent, it's actually a good flaw in the sense that it shows that he's still human and he still has a heart.

We haven't gotten around to watching the recent one yet. I've heard a mix of comments from different sorts of people--some who really enjoyed it and some who disliked it immensely. I'm not swayed by either and will see for myself when I finally get to watch it.
