Has anyone read this AMAZING book? What did you think about it? Favorite parts? (please put in spoilers things that may spoil parts in the book for others).

I just finished reading this book and found it incredible, and am now reading the sequel. The sequel is equally amazing so far! :D

*places peppermints in a crystal bowl onto a small, circular table that is covered in a beautiful and rich red tablecloth nearly reaching the floor with its gold fringes* Dare you take one? ;)

I have never read this, Nemo; but you've made me want to! Who is it written by?

It's by Barbara Brooks Wallace. I don't particularly recommend this for the very young, like 12-13 or younger because it is kind of creepy at the beginning depending on personality and such... (I would say it's up to parents ;) ), but otherwise I really don't have anything to warn about. It's not really fantasy, but it is sooooo good! I would highly recommend it to fantasy lovers!

Do you mean you do recommend or you don't recommend for younger?

I thought you meant it was only suitable for that age range, so I was thinking :( I'm too old! ;) But maybe I'll look into getting it to read. Thanks for sharing this, Nemo.

The title alone had me interested!

So is this a mystery type book? What genre does it fall under?

Part mystery. A praise on the cover describes it as Gothic. I would say it has hints of fantasy, but not really.

The sequel, The Perils of Peppermints, is really good, too! I just finished it two nights ago. I would highly recommend it as well. It's not quite as creepy as the first one was, but it's still good.

It sounded like a mystery, to me. Thanks, Nemo. :D

It's definitely mystery, and definitely is probably part Gothic. (I bet I butchered my grammar there).

I really, really, really want to read it!!!! But..... *glances at quiz book, which holds about ten bible verses that need to be memorized by Wednesday* I'll request it from the library in a few weeks when we go on a short family trip to read it then. :D

Excellent plan. :D I have to finish the rest of my library books first, though. :)
