Welcome, my friends, to week fifty-one! There is no escape! (of course, you might not enter the challenge, but you will take part in this week regardless, so long as you're breathing right now ^_^ )

Your challenge this week is to create a creature/race for your story-worldspecifics: a minimum of 300 words describing the creature's physical appearance/dimensions, habitat, diet, temperament, and offensive/defensive mechanisms. The alternative if you have no story-world is to do the same thing for your real-world setting (just imagine what sort of whacky/creepy/awesome creature might go with your story. It'll get the creative juices roiling.)
(and...both of those goals count as the same, if you do them both, you only get bonus points as if you did one twice)
*wonders when Zoe will stop letting him 'help' by doing the goals for her once in awhile* ;)

Remember, in order to receive points for completing the weekly challenge, you MUST declare it by Monday at midnight.

As always...

The Rules wrote:
1. All challenges must be declared completed by midnight Saturday in your timezone (please specify your timezone when you sign up).
2. All challenges (personal or weekly) must be declared by midnight Monday in your timezone.
3. Personal challenges cannot be repeated.
4. The organizer reserves the right to veto any challenges that seem too simple. (i.e. writing a sentence)

If this is your first time on one of these quests, you'll need to see the initiation pamphlet.

Also, I would like to remind everyone that any weekly challenge pieces that are posted on the forum will be eligible to be featured in our newsletter. Please post a link in this thread if you would like it to be considered.

If you could write your sign-up post in a similar format to the following, it would be appreciated:
Goal: weekly challenge (or whatever you decide to do)
Timezone: PDT

Lycanis: (PDT)
 Weekly challenge COMPLETE x5
Personal goal: get back into world-building. Do at least 500 words of new material, and some revision. COMPLETE
Renna: Finish that dratted short story I've been working on for weeks. XD (PDT)
Katharina: Edit at least one chapter of AMF, stay on track with the 30 in 30 challenge (CDT) COMPLETE
Juliet: (GMT)
 Weekly goal. COMPLETE
 Personal goal: rewrite letter. COMPLETE
Raven: next chapter section of TKB, begin work on my present for HW's next birthday. (PDT) COMPLETE
Aratrea: (EST)
 Weekly Goal
Personal Goal: Edit 4 chapters of The Capstone COMPLETE
Leandra:
 Weekly Goal COMPLETE
Personal Goal: writing up a paragraph or two about at least two creatures/races for one of my worlds? COMPLETE

Do you have to create a new creature, or can you just write something up maybe on one that's not developed well?

Um...if you've been toying a little with the idea of having a humanoid shapeshifting race (just for example), but have no details, you could do that. But if you have already decided a lot about them, it wouldn't count 'cause that's not making a new thing for your world, but fleshing it out/noting it.
You gonna do it? :beg:

Fine, fine. Weekly challenge accepted. Not at all sure about a personal challenge, so...heh. Would a worldbuilding-ish challenge be acceptable? Say, writing up a paragraph or two about at least two creatures/races for one of my worlds?

And I finished the weekly challenge as well. (If you count 'they eat normal food' as good enough for the 'diet' bit. Just kidding, I was only tempted to leave it at that...I added a couple sentences giving some more detail.)

Yay! ^_^
 Well, I put 'whatever they want' in the diet bit for one of mine... ;) I think I added a bit to that though. *grins*

Done, as long as it's okay that for my personal goal, I actually did one thing for one world and one thing for another world instead of two things for one world...

Anyway. What I wrote for the weekly challenge can be found here, also counting as one part of my personal goal, and the other part of my personal goal is here. They're a race I've known existed for a while, knew their purpose and one event involving them, and that was about it. So it was kind of nice to work out a few more things about them.
