*heavy German accent* I haf returned vith new und improved methods of torture. I am allowed to genially poke fun at the accent...I am half German, after all. ;)

Your challenge for week forty-one is to write a short story based on this song. Now, before you complain that it's in German, here are the translated lyrics. I gave you the German recording because it just doesn't sound as epic in another tongue. If you do it, pleaseohplease show us what you write? :beg:

Remember, in order to receive points for completing the weekly challenge, you MUST declare it by Monday at midnight.

As always...

The Rules wrote:
1. All challenges must be declared completed by midnight Saturday in your timezone (please specify your timezone when you sign up).
2. All challenges (personal or weekly) must be declared by midnight Monday in your timezone.
3. Personal challenges cannot be repeated.
4. The organizer reserves the right to veto any challenges that seem too simple. (i.e. writing a sentence)

If this is your first time on one of these quests, you'll need to see the initiation pamphlet.

Also, I would like to remind everyone that any weekly challenge pieces that are posted on the forum will be eligible to be featured in our newsletter. Please post a link in this thread if you would like it to be considered. So far, we do not have any submissions for the next feature.

If you could write your sign-up post in a similar format to the following, it would be appreciated:
Goal: weekly challenge (or whatever you decide to do)
Timezone: PDT

WRITE!!! *turns over hourglass set to run out at midnight on Saturday*

Weekly Goal. (That story isn't suited to prose in my opinion...poetry fits it. But I'll do a sort of a spin off of it.)
Personal Goal: write letter.
Zone: GMT.

Just for the record, any sort of spin-off counts as part of the challenge. Even if the song gives you an idea for something related, but not the original story, that's good too. :D

What a beautiful, eerie song. o.O I'm pretty sure I've heard this without the lyrics somewhere else... Anywho! I wish I could do it, but I've got a formatting job to complete this week. :(

Personal goal: Write a short story for my Writer's Group challenge
Timezone: CST

Weekly challenge done! I thought I'd better do it quick while motivation and inspiration was up. :D

Since you asked for it, here it is, in it's unedited glory. I kinda just was having fun. *rambles* The piano part fascinated me, so I went off that.

Anywho.

Hurrah! I've completed my personal goals.

I thought I was going to be done early, but it seems everyone else has finished theirs already. Even when I work ahead, it seems I'm still a procrastinator.

I'm regretfully dropping out this week. I have a book formatting job that's due today, and it's really intensive, so I backed out of the writing challenge even though it made my group leader cry. (He was teasing. ;) )
