Welcome to week thirty, fellow questers! :D

Your goal this week is to write an essence map for a villain or villainous organization/group. I'm looking forward to seeing what you come up with.

Your NaNo goal this week is to write a logline for your book. Extra points may be awarded if you get it done early in the week and are able to completely polish it in Jordan's logline thread.

Wait. What are NaNo goals?
I was just going to tell you. ;) For the rest of October and the month of November, we will be hosting extra goals that will either help your NaNo experience, or make it more...shall we say..interesting.

Can I do them even if I'm not doing NaNo?
For certain! They are quite likely to be able to be applied to normal writing, so help yourself to the extra points. :D

Remember, in order to receive points for completing the weekly challenge, you MUST declare it by Monday at midnight.

As always...

The Rules wrote:
1. All challenges must be declared completed by midnight Saturday in your timezone (please specify your timezone when you sign up).
2. All challenges (personal or weekly) must be declared by midnight Monday in your timezone.
3. Personal challenges cannot be repeated.
4. The organizer reserves the right to veto any challenges that seem too simple. (i.e. writing a sentence)

If this is your first time on one of these quests, you'll need to see the initiation pamphlet.

Also, I would like to remind everyone that any weekly challenge pieces that are posted on the forum will be eligible to be featured in our newsletter. Please post a link in this thread if you would like it to be considered.

If you could write your sign-up post in a similar format to the following, it would be appreciated:
Goal: weekly challenge (or whatever you decide to do)
Timezone: PDT

WRITE! *sets off Roman candles*

Man, I'm awful at essence maps for ppl, so I have no idea how I'll do the weekly goal, but I'll try...

Timezone: EST
Weekly Goal Accepted
Old Goal: Plot, plan out, and write more detailed info on the group of traders in The Capstone
NEW GOAL: Fractal Gertrude
EDIT: Apparently my goal was too easy as I had a stroke of inspiration this morning and did it all in one sitting. I'm updating my goal therefore to instead be to Fractal Gertrude

NaNo goal completed twice! :D I have a couple of novels I'm contemplating writing as part of NaNo, so I'm logline-ing them all.

I sent both to Jordan for critique. One is posted on the HWSF workshop thread: http://www.holyworlds.org/scifi/viewtop ... 522#p31522 And the other I sent to him via email because the story is currently not public. I don't know if that counts for the potential bonus points, but there you go. :D

Personal goal complete, but I'll probably work on it a bit more and try to do a bit more outlining of the chapters (and add more).

And NaNo goal completed twice. One of those loglines might be fully polished by tomorrow, but the other likely won't be.
