Yes. Bad me for not posting about this early. National Novel Finishing Month, or NaNoFiMo, is one of the many spin-offs from NaNoWriMo. The goal is to write 30k of finishing writing project(s) in the month of December. I know lots of NaNoers were planning to do just this on their own! For those of you who felt overwhelmed by the NaNo boards, this is a much tighter community of <100 active members, it looks like. http://nanofimo.proboards.com/index.cgi? Right now you we've just moved forums because of a rampant spam problem on the old forum (and lack of admins showing up to do anything about it), so not all of the kinks are worked out yet. Anyone from HW besides Cat joining me? |

I'll join in NaFiWriMo, but I don't know if I'll sign up for the website... |

Oh, this is perfect! I have several finishing projects I want to work on, so I'm sure I've got 30k in there. *will look into this today* |

*shoots hand up* Me, me! I'm probably not signing up on the website either. And I'm probably going to type it on the new family laptop (as long as there aren't anymore internet problems |

*pokes non-signer-upers* The reason I told everyone here about it was so that I could flood said tight community with wonderful Christians. *dances off to write* I'm SO excited all over again. This month I really want to focus on writing 2k in 2 hours (in other words, not forcing it out) every day, so I have 50k at the end of the month. I'm extremely excited about what all I get to write, but I intend to stop each day at 2k, even if I'm dying to continue. I read that tip somewhere; I forget where exactly. Stop the days work while you still want to write and you will be excited to get back to work the next day. |

Just a heads-up, there are a lot of ads in the off topic forum. |

Yah. That would be the spam. An idea is being tossed around that we should make another forum and move if the admins don't show, but that won't be acted on for at least a week. |

Will you mind, Droid, if I wait a week then to sign up? If you're going to move I'd rather just make one account. But I'm tentatively in for this. I think I'll probably aim for 30k of Peter's Angel (though not all of it will be new material - some of it is salvaging old drafts into the current timeline). I have other WIP I'll be plugging away at, though, I expect. |

Hehehe... if you decide to move let me know because I love chaos and upheaval and will be tempted to come play in the mess. |

*laughs* Well, tell you what. Count me in for the challenge, and later this week or sometime next week I'll check out the forums in more detail, okay? This week I've been using my free time to give HW a little TLC. |

@Vanya - I suspect the only mess we'll make would be convincing people to move. @Phila - Okay-dokey. I'll keep people posted. I understand the health of a forum is a concern. |

I shall tentatively join in on this, with a 20k word goal. That way I can bring my WC up to 70k. I don't think I shall join the site, but instead just do it unofficially, unless maybe there is a new website made. But that shall be my goal, and help me push past the hard parts in this turning-out-to-be-really-long-novel. |

Or not. Tentatively has become very tentatively. Because of some discussion in this thread on HF, I have pretty much for sure decided to do more research on the slavery era before writing anymore. I think the 50k I already have is fine with minor editing, but I do need to do some more research to decide where I stand on this before writing anymore. Anyway! That particular issue can be talked about on another thread. The best of luck to the rest of you doing NaNoFiMo! |

*sniffles and hugs Mae again even though she already did that five minutes ago in the other thread* I added 5k to Peter's Angel yesterday, most of which was from scenes that just needed minor editing. Starting tomorrow I'm raising my goal to 10k a week, for a total of 100k by the end of the year. Some of that will be salvaged scenes, but a lot of it will be new material, so that should satisfy NaNoFiMo easily. |

Alright, so I wrote nothing the first few days. Then I let Cat into my Wish Flight doc on gdocs for this month. With editing powers. So now she is nagging me appropriately. |
