Alright, I am talking let's get serious here folks. I am pumped up and ready to rock this book like its 1999 and I'm full speed on my skateboard headed for the cliff of some stairs. (I was never that good, but could do 3-4 stairs before "retiring" due to torn tendons in my knee, but anyway.)

So, I've invested some serious mulah to go to a writing conference hosted by Ted Dekker Aug 12-13. He will be discussing all kinds of submission related stuff that will be so much more helpful if I have a book ready to submit, and there will be agents there. So! I really, really, really want to have my book rewritten by then. So! (Why am I so hyper - anyway, So!) This week I will have characters and setting ready. That's it. Everything else is gravy. That includes podcasts, the short story I'm halfway done with, everything. This must get done.

Week One Goal: Characters, Setting, and Conflict ready to go for Week Two - starting the outline.

This is serious like a heart attack folks. I'm not messing around. Let's get cracking!

Okey doke. (I like you when you're hyper :D) Let's see if I can get some goals down on paper here. OK - my goal follows:

- Get a clear picture of changes to be made in this revision. Plot out the relationship arcs. Plot out on the miniature how these changes will be made.

That will have to be all for me this week as this and the following week are finals :)

I have a goal of doing about a half an hour of line edits on my NaNo every day except Sunday, plus an hour of writing on something (what, specifically, doesn't matter so much).

Also, for my goal of being able to start Ark's story, I want to figure out the primary goals of the main characters.

I'm not sure whether to be amused or frightened by the tone of your post, Tim. Perhaps both. :?

Anyway, get cracking indeed! This week I'd like to finish the prologue for my fresh draft of Alaidia (Peter's Angel) and get started on the main part of the book. I'd also like to get a handle on where I'm going with revising my sci-fi novella - am I just making a few tweaks, or do I need to rewrite the entire thing?

It would also be good if I could get several things checked off my lengthy "need to read and comment on for friends" list. That will leave me a clearer schedule for the coming weeks when I'm more focused on writing my own stuff.

Well, I finished the prologue. It's surprisingly long - over 5,000 words - and better than I expected. Still needs work, but it'll do for now. So, moving on!

I'm still in debate about revising my sci-fi novella. It's become clear that I'll need more time to discuss ideas and pray for a direction before revising.

I did get a few things checked off my to-read list. Still quite a bit more to go, though!
