Post subject:  Getting out of a dungeon?

One of my characters is in a dungeon. He's the prince of the Elves and the Dark Elves got a chance to capture him. Their king wants to use him and his sister to try to get the king of the Elves to give up the throne. The girl escaped, but the guy is still in the dungeon. There's a Dark Elf woman who feels sorry for him and wants to get him out of there somehow (she's also a slave/servant if that matters). Oh and he wants to live among them instead of his own people. He just doesn't want to be a prisoner.
My problem is that I have no idea how she might somehow buy his freedom (because I see no way for him to escape then stay among the Dark Elves... buying his freedom sounds like the only option). He's obviously valuable to the king, so it's going to be hard. And there's no way the king is going to buy his whole "Let me out, I'm not leaving anyway" story.
I can think of one thing the woman might buy his freedom, but I don't know if I really want to do that. I wanted a couple of other options first, if anyone can come up with something.

I think that (unfortunately) I know where you're heading with this. However, from what little you've told me of elf culture there would be absolutely no way for a lone slave woman to 'buy' his freedom at all. Simply by being a slave she would have no rights, and no real property, and thus nothing to really offer that couldn't simply be taken from her.

It would make more sense, it seems, to have her find someone else in a higher place (and with a good heart) to help her.

I KNEW there was something I wasn't thinking of :D lol, my brain was half asleep at the time.
Actually, I think I just thought of a way to do that. It'll take a little more thought than just this out-of-nowhere idea, but I think I've got something.

You probably do....
Yes, unfortunately, that was the only thing I could think of at the moment, and I have no idea where that thought came from. I'm not weird, I'm really not :P
I was going to REALLY try to think of something else, because that wouldn't even work...

I'm going to move this topic to the archives, since I seem to have gotten the answers I needed.
