I went to a plot party last night and was given a neat hand out called November Spawned, and it looks like it could be helpful to some fellow Wrimos (and kingjon suggested I share it here), so you can download it at one of two links on this page.

*sigh* There's no way I can participate this year after all. :/ School and work are too much to juggle especially when I've added learning Korean and Japanese to the mix. I will root for everyone from the sidelines. ^^

Good luck everyone!

What is your NaNoWriMo username?
MockingbirdSymphony. I figured it some people here would be there, so I kept it the same.

How many years have you participated?
This will be my second year. I only made it to about 26,000 words last year. I am aiming for 100,000 this year. Also will be planning way more.

What sort of story will you be writing?
Fantasy. Adventure, rescue, new creatures, all that jazz. I love that expression. All that jazz.

I like signing up just because you get a handy page to track progress, can see things like how much to write per day, have a page to see the stats of all your writing buddies, and other things. Personally, I don't even use the forum. I've maybe been on the forum part three or four times.

Okay, thanks. That might be what I do.

The stats is the best part. I wish there were a program like that I could use all year round. ...Does anyone know of one? :o

WriYe, I think. It's Write a Novel in a Year.

Then there are also widgets you can put on a blog to do that.

What is your NaNoWriMo username?
My username is Rebekah's Quill

How many years have you participated?
I have never participated before at all, but I'm looking forward to trying this year! :D

What sort of story will you be writing?

I'm not sure what genre it falls under... Contemporary Christian Fiction is about the closest I can get to figuring that out as of yet. :?

This will be my sixth year; I won the first four but last year barely made an attempt...might have gotten a couple hundred words or so.

I don't really have much planned...but I think it might fit the category of Urban Fantasy. I'm not entirely sure what the specific definition of that is, so I'm not entirely positive...

I suppose I may as well announce this here...

My NaNo novel will remain a secret, for various reasons. At least for awhile. :) So before you start asking me about it -- don't. ;) Of course, you can if you want, but I'm not giving out much information to anyone, even my closest friends. So yeah. Deal with it. ;)

I've done lots of background work, character building, etc... but my actual outline isn't nearly far enough... That and I should decide what to call my genre. Yes, I should. Good thing I still have one day and one night!

I've been plot building, world building, character building, history building, and everything else for months: The world is fine, the plot is full of action and has something that resembles a beginning, middle, and end...and then there's the sequel I've already worked myself into without even writing the first sentence. XD

But, all that is to say, I am so completely unprepared. I'm not even going to be able to think about NaNo until I'm back home late Wednesday...

I've stocked up on candy, though! So let's do this thing! :D

*looks at NaNo buddy list and realizes that 99% are HWers* Methinks this will be the best NaNo yet! :dieshappy:

Am I ready? Who knows. But I am waiting with considerable bit champing to begin. I'm plotting out some scenes to the minute details because I'm not allowed to write them -- the audacity of telling me I'm not allowed to write scenes! -- my family knows with how much abruptness I drop everything to write a scene when it comes to me (before I forget it :P), and what happens when I develop characters? Scenes come! I am in agony, waiting for Wednesday to rescue me. * clasps face in hands and staggers away mumbling dialogue to herself in a futile attempt to memorize it til Wednesday rescues her *

These sound like great plans, everyone! :D Who's going to stay up till midnight on HW chat to start? :D

For me, after stressing out about NaNo planning, I realized something. Last year I did NaNo with a quarter of the planning I have now. And still got 50k. So, me, the super-organized-planner-who-has-developed-for-months-and-still-doesn't-feel-ready, is going to be semi-pantsting. I'm actually getting excited. :D

Now, let's see how many scene outlines and character summaries I can dash off before tonight!

Hmm. I've got some characters planned out pretty well, a basic plot, and some really bad worldbuilding. I think I'm good as well. :salute:

I know it's not even an hour since I made that last post, but.... I'm not doing NaNo.

*silence*

Why? Because it came down to what I want and what God wants. Not that He doesn't want me to be a writer.... But that He has even bigger and better plans for me, and I must focus on those.

Please understand, and no  or :bawl: . ;) I'll have more details soon, and in the meantime, I commend the rest of you Wrimos. :salute: Just because NaNo isn't right for me this time around, it doesn't mean you are not going to get 50k in a single month, and I'll be there to make sure it happens!

 and :bawl: ;)

It sounds like you're making the right decision, Rose. I'm proud of you for sacrificing what you want for what God wants. God bless and keep you as you pursue His will and calling for you. :D

Plot ready? Nope. Characters picked? Nada. World building? None at all. Yup, I'm ready to bellyflop into NaNo cold. :D

Count me in. That's almost what I'm doing. :D (Yes, yes, last minute decision, I know. ;))
