I'm getting this impression that you're controlling the shuriken... it shouldn't be doing that. I think.

Kai: Whatever. *dodges the blade and very carefully catches the shuriken in his gloved hand*

Me: Kai...

Kai: Okay, maybe that's not totally realistic. But neither are phantoms or phantom swords or anything else in either of the worlds.

Me: Hmmph.

Kai: *jumps behind Kimun and tries to cut him in two*

Me: Now who's chopping people into little bitty pieces?

Kai: Stop the running commentary, please? Emeth doesn't comment on Kimun.

Me: Running commentaries are fun.

Kai:

Roel: *charges Rahor, slashing wildly, or so it seems...*

Merashath: *Still holding on to Tynx, they are nearly at the ground. He snaps at Tynx again, being sure not to loosen his grip.*

Me: *deep, heavy, sigh.*

Kinetic manipulation, remember?

Kimun spins about in the air, diverting the blade with his foot and coming in close to slash deeply at Kai's chest.

Oh, right.

Kai: *kicks Kimun in the chest, hopefully knocking him to the ground but at least knocking him back so he doesn't get killed, and once more attempts to cut him in two*

Kai: *spinning and screaming, manages to lurch forward and stab Kimun*
*mutters* Just die already...

Akira - Nice.

Rahor - (brings his katana into a whirl of blocks and sidesteps out of Roel's way. Swings the katana at Roel's spine)

Thysal - Wait, so Shawn's on my back now?

Niarah - @Malcolm: That's a lot of dragonish creatures. Which are you again?

* blinks * Methinks you should already be dead thrice over.

Kimun kicks the handle of the blade as it comes towards him, sending it across the room, and repeats the blow with his blade.

Last night I spent all of my two hour watch, and twenty minutes beside on a project. I spent a great deal of that time fast reading the entire character introductions thread. I found Kimun's entrance on page 25, and then on page 32 was my first post, exulting that I'd actually read the whole thread. I had to keep going aaaaaaaaaaallllll the way to page 82 to find was I was looking for, skimming duels and dodgeballs and whatnot...

And anyway, this is the result. It's a little unfinished, I'm going to get some help from the art thread for that, but I wanted you guys, and your characters to see it first.

It's a visual depiction of the character introductions thread. It's not exactly how I thought it would come out, and it really only depicts current ongoing events, but I like it for some reason.

Me: I always pictured it as more outdoorsy. What with river and grass references and all. It reminds me a little more of the chat room I always saw that as indoors.

Me: And Merashath is honored to be right on the front. It looks just like him!!

Merashath: *Finally he reaches the ground, and spins so Tynx is on the bottom. They land in a patch of grass. Merashath is hurt, but still able to fly and fight.*

Elanhil: *lurches forward, adding more power behind his thrust.*

Looks like Merashath, huh? I twas supposed to be whatever dragon it was that blew poison into the lightning but I got all twisted around by the time I was done...

It is rather outdoorsy. I tried to make it look like the outdoors indoors but like I said, it didn't come out quite how I planned.

Me: It looks great.

Me: That's awesome.

Chayn: [Glances at the picture.] Maybe I'm not seeing the dragon.

Me: The dragon, as if you didn't know who it was.

Chayn: Whatever. [Brings a claw up as Thysal snaps at her shoulder, clamping on her muzzle. WInces when she hit by Thysal's wing, and retalites with her own wing-smack.] Not if I kill you first!

Tynx: Oh crud! [Struggles to flip himself above Merashath, but when he can't, he instead hooks his tail around Iri and tosses him off and up above the two falling fliers. When they land, Tynx's breathing comes out in gasps and his shoves Merashath off and rolls onto his feet, hopefully catching Iri on his back when the elf comes back down.] That..... was..... ins....ane. [Focuses on Merashath.] Gah, I can hardly breathe!

Me: You might want to catch your rider.

Tynx: Uh-huh. [Flies upward very briefly, enough to catch Iri in his claws before coming back down, setting Iri on the ground next to him.] No good. Flying takes too much air.

Chase: [Brings his sword down at Elanhil's, but gets hit when Elanil thrusts forward. He slashes imediately at Elanhil's chest, then brings his swing around at cuts at his legs.] I don't think I can take much more of this...

Seymour: Then yield.

Chase: I didn't say I couldn't take anymore of it, I said I don't think I can take much more of it.

Seymour: There's a difference?

Cory: I don't think there's any use arguing with him.

Mordir: You heroes are so weird. You don't know when it's wise to quit.

Me: And you do?

Mordir: Yes.

Me: Liar.

Mordir: OK, well maybe sometimes I get a little too pigheaded for my own good, but at least I'm not like Master Daren over here who's getting himself hacked up until he can hardly stand, or the shapeshifter over there who can hardly breathe.

Seymour: That's not their fault. Our author is stubborn.

Mordir: Didn't think about that...

Me: So what? No one wants to lose.

Seymour: But you pick the well-skilled ones to duel.

Mordir: Let's face it, our author is the one who can be pigheaded. [Gets four dictionaries dropped on him.] Ow! You know you could kill someone with those?!

Me: I'll take my chances.

Cory: Why dictionaries?

Me: They're one of the writer's most valuable tools.

Mordir: Authors are weird.

Aris: You all need to learn to respect your author. She's doing her best to actually give your world a personality. Without that, you are basically homeless.

Mordir: I don't care, I'm in Allei too, anyway. I have a backup.

Aris: You, sir, are extremely irritating.

Mordir: Thanks. I'd say something back, but I know I'd either get your sword at my neck or dictionaries on my head. Or both. Both are entirely possible.

Me: You should stop talking now.

Kai: I'm getting tired of this. I'm not even sure what you just did to me...

Me: You'd better hurry and beat Chase or you'll be bumped out line to fight Kimun, Elanhil.

Elanhil: *Deflects Chase's blow, and jumps. While in the air, he slashes across Chase's neck.*

Me: How come he is getting hurt but you aren't?

Elanhil: Because I'm the best sword fighter in all of Menbie.

Me: That's...debatable. But yeah. You're up there. But who knows, Chase may be too. I need to ask Aris...

Merashath: *grunts and breathes heavily. He stares at Tynx with huge eyes.*

Me: Oh, and Merashath is skewered on the spire of a high castle of this revision. So this is him at an earlier point.

Merashath: *nostrils flare.*

Hadwin: I like the new me too.

Rinifer: *vanishes, mostly. He shimmers slightly.*

Me: He may or may not be in the book.

Trina: *Has a similar personality, but suddenly is more experienced as a spy. She is also no longer Elanhil's sister.*

Me: Chase? Shoot, the poor boy's next to useless with the blade in his story (which is currently not written). Only for now he's experienced. But I'm beginning to think this is a lost battle.

Mordir: I think it was lost when you started.

Aris: [Hits Mordir between the shoulders blades with the butt of her sword.]

Mordir: Ow! I was kidding! Sheesh, you people don't get my sense of humor at all!

Chase: I'm not quitting yet! [Ducks, then reaches up while still crouching and thrusts at Elanhil's middle as he comes down.]

Tynx: Ouch, skewered? Dude, even though you're the bad guy I feel sorry for you. [Watches Merashath, his lungs vacuuming in huge amount of air.]

Me: Let me know when you're done, Elanhil. I can yield when you want. I don't think I'll be wining this one this time.

Chase: Quitter.

Me: This has been going on for days, you're almost cut to shreds, and Elanhil's close to being moved out of line for a fight with Kimun. We're probably close to being done.

Chase: Aw, come on!

Me: Depends on what Elanhil wants to do.

He disarmed you and cut off your leg. If you don't know what he did, you can't defend against it.

Kai: Oh.

Can we be done with this? I can't figure out half the things you do to Kai...

Kai: *draws new sword*

Me: That's not what he meant.

Kai: Oh. What did he mean?

Me: Neither of you wins.

Kai:

Me: Get over it. Otherwise, I'll just tell him that he can call it his win; he did chop you up, remember.

Kai:

Elanhil: That's right now, Kimun. *Paries Chase's blow, and lands, then lunges straight at him. At the last moment, he cuts upward, tearing up Chase's face, making it a very hard blow to deflect.*

Me: Elanhil, please.

Hadwin@Tynx: Oh, don't feel sorry for him. He lives in misery and pain, but still refuses to yield, that Devil.

Me: He really is the Devil. Menbie's equivalent to Satan.

Merashath: *stares at Tynx.*

Me: With this new draft, Imma get all my readers in tears by the end.

Trina:

Me: You're not a reader...

Trina: Oh...

Chayn: [Swings her tail toward Jay, hoping to draw his attention.]

Chase: [Drops his sword and backs up, his expression screwed up in pain.] You win..... ow... Nice job. [Looks at Elanhil with a smile.] That was fun.

Mordir: Fun? The kid's just given himself enough battle wounds that would make even the most experienced veteran soldier jealous.

Chase: [Wobbles a little before sitting down, wincing.] Don't tell my parents, please.

Seymour: [Kneels down beside Chase.] We won't. Just hold still.

Aris: That was quite the match. How long have you trained, Elanhil?

Mordir: After seeing that, I'd say a lifetime.

Aris: I wasn't asking you.

Mordir: I was only saying. Sheesh, I offer non-threatening and non-hostile input, and I still get snapped at like I've just insulted the queen.

Kai: *throws shuriken and borrowed bo-shuriken at Jay in an attempt to get him on the ground*

Me: You just want to get hurt, don't you?

Kai: I can beat Jay. You knew I couldn't beat Kimun.

Me: True.

Roel: Stop taking my weapons!!!

Kai: *ignores Roel*

Roel: And I can't even do anything about it because he has my bo-shuriken and my sword is busy slashing at Rahor...

Kai:

Shuriken are throwing stars, about three inches across, I think. Bo-shuriken are like tent pegs, I presume about six or eight inches long, but I don't really know.

Kai: That is way over simplified.

Me: It works.

Kai: So, did I knock him down here?

Thysal - (swoops back into the thread, and dives beneath Jay) Gotcha!

Me - I've been gone all day, and look at everything which's happened in my absence.

Niarah - It's your own fault.

Me - You need something to occupy yourself other than making smart remarks.

Niarah -

Rahor - Did you make a move, Roel? If so, I believe I missed that . . .

Tanner: *rubs welts from paintball* Okay, what did we miss?

Skooter: Tubing is fun!

Stellwento: I had my first ever inclination to wear clothing, seeing that tie-dye stuff.

Melany: Rock climbing is such a great pastime.

Fulgar: I liked the tacos.

Umectra: And the ice cream.

Me: We all just got back from camp so we may go on about things for a bit.

Chayn: [Flies after Thysal and Jay.] Hold on! [Flies high up, then folds wings close to her body, diving down toward Thysal.]

Tynx: [Still trying to catch his breath.] So.... now what?

Me: You attack.

Tynx: He's been skewered.

Me: You died.

Tynx: Good point.

Seymour: [Finished tending to Chase.]

Chase: Thanks, Seymour.

Tesmir: I'm back!

Cory: Hey, how'd you manage to avoid your brothers?

Tesmir: Um, I didn't. Tilmere wouldn't let me leave unless I brought him or Rune, because he knew most of the others wouldn't care a bit what I do. I picked Rune.

Rune: Apparently I'm more indulgent.

Me: I missed him. And he's gonna be in a story, if and when I have time for it.

Mordir: Oh, joy.

Tesmir: He's still here?

Me: Yes. Now behave.

Tynx: You've been camping? How was it?

Me: Camping rocks.

Roel: Yep, I'm slashing wildly at you.

Kai: Can someone push Jay down here for me to fight him??

Me: Why do I write such violent characters...?

Kai: Because you're violent.

Me: You weren't supposed to answer that.

Me: YEAH GREEN BAY! WOO-HOO!

Elanhil: *takes Chase's hand and firmly shakes it.* Thanks, I enjoyed it. *turns to Aris* Yes, Mordir is right. I've been trained since I was a young boy. It was always my fathers and my own passion to help make Saruh an independent nation. He was a valiant man, and he taught me everything I know. And when we finally succeeded, he ended up

Me: No spoilers. Plus, they don't care...

Elanhil: But--

Me:

Elanhil: Why, you--

Merashath: *breathing heavily* Not now, no. I'm not skewered until later. *jumps at Tynx.*

Me: Oh, and he can breathe fire now. It was a substitute for his magic.

Elanhil: Kimun, I am ready when you are. *steps up, completely healed from the previous battle.*

Elanhil: Yes, that will do.

Tynx: I see. [Jumps at Merashath, teeth and claws bared.]

Chase: I did too. I haven't had that much fun in a long time.

Me: There's more comin'.

Aris: That's pretty young. I'm impressed.

Mordir: You're impressed with anybody.

Aris: Oh, you're not?

Mordir: I didn't say that.

Aris: Hey, I haven't had the most luxurious childhood, alright?

Mordir: I didn't say you did. Sheesh, will you quit trying to make everything sound like it's my fault? Aris, why'd you have to bring her in here?!

Me: I needed another female character. The girl to guy ratio is a little weird.

Tesmir: And yet, you drag us back.

Me: I can just as easily kick you out, so be careful. Goodness, I just realized I have fifteen (Including the forgotten ones) characters here. O.o Is that too many?

Me - I don't think there's ever too many characters. They come and go like a tide.

Akira - Thus you got bored of Sabre and Ryan.

Me - Sabre's still flat.

Zanya - At least you know how he does in a hopeless situation.

Akira - That was your fault.

Zanya - Excuse me?

Akira - Can you deny it?

Zanya - . . .

Akira - Thought not.

Thysal - (Whirls and whacks Chayn's face with her tail, then diving down close to the ground) Whew.

Me - I feel absentminded, I completely missed what exactly Jay and Shawn were doing earlier.

Zanya - I tell you you need to come in more!

Thysal - (Flies by Kai, clipping him with her wing) We're here! (Flies back up) And we're gone.

Rahor - Got it (Blocks several of Roel's slashes, but gets struck in the left shoulder. Retaliates with a lunge, striking horizontally at Roel's stomach)

Me - I think I'm completely caught up. Anything else?

Roel: *dodges attack nearly completely, but it rips his tunic and glides across the chainmail.* See? Chain mail is useful.

Me: Never said it wasn't.

Roel: * slices at Rahor's legs*

Kai: *ignores whatever creature just hit him*

Me: Wow. You really have that much control?

Kai: No, I have patience...

Me: Uh-oh.

Kai: *sinister grin*

Thysal - Patient? No one is truly patient. Except perhaps Kimun.

Rahor - (Leaps into the air and flips over Roel's head, lands then slashes at his neck)

Niarah - You're getting cocky, Rahor. That's how Father lost.

Rahor - *snorts*

Stellwento: So many duels, no one just talks... Who's up to just relax?

Lumevita: Well, I don't think any of us saw that coming...

Umectra: You know Wen, as predictable as the wind.

Chayn: [Roars in pain and anger and flies off after Thysal, following her as she clips Kai. Chayn just barely manages to avoid hitting him too.] Get back here!

Me: OK, character swap out. Gabriel, Brandon, and Sheyna, out. Chase and Cassie, out.

Cassie: I wanna stay!

Me: I know you do. I feel bad taking you out. But you're just characters, and you have enough personality for now. So does Chase. So long as he's feeling up to leaving?

Chase: Oh, no, I'm not.

Me: Quit lying.

CHase: I'm kidding. I'm fine. No scars or anything.

Me: Good. You two go.

Cassie: Bye-bye! [Kisses Erronys on the nose.] I'll see if Aris will let me come back sometime. Thank you for the ride.

Chase: See ya'll later!

[Above said characters duck out.]

Cory: You're feeling guilty.

Me: You're lucky I don't throw you out. Alright, Ponkin goes too. Not that he's really been here after his Mountain Dew energy rush anyways. Where is he now exactly?

Seymour: He was sleeping somewhere with Lady Eruweadhiel's characters.

Ponkin: I'll go find of caffeine nuts, and when i do, i'll bring it all back give some to everyone! [Scampers off.]

Seymour and Mordir: [Looks a little nervous.]

Me: Chill. It'll keep him busy. OK, Werynn.... never mind, you can stay. Just to keep the girl population over here up.

Tesmir: You have a grand total of two, might I add.

Me: I know, it's quite the feat. But now the fun part. [Gets a really scary expression.]

Mordir: Let me know if I'm about to get hurt.

Me: It's not you. Tesmir'll hate it more.

Tesmir: I've been here for like what, a day, maybe? And you're already going to bring me suffering?

Rune: Knock it off. [Walks over to the geckos.] Talking geckos. I've never seen such a thing.

Cory: Rune'll talk to the geckos.

Me: Meet Tesmir's brothers!

Tesmir: No!!!! [Faces goes very pale.]

Me: Most of 'em need a personality boost anyway. They don't bite. There's Tilmere, Kedmir, Rousen, Orrun, Jek and Hakor (you've met the twins and Tilmere). And Tounon, but he's just a friend. They won't talk now, because this post is already really long.

Seymour: You've just boosted your male population now, you do realize that?

Me: I know. But we'll see how it goes. Some may leave some may not. Orrun needs a personality, he has none.

Tesmir: Shoot, just slap on a happy-go-lucky personality on him and call it a day!

Cory: He's not happy.

Me: Never said he would be.

Elanhil: *pulls his blade back and takes one step backwards.* It is even, then. You may begin.

Me: This is exciting.

Merashath: *leaps forward as Tynx comes, and they meet full force head on.*

Trina: I thought that was an air battle?

Hadwin: I believe it was, but now it's a wrestling match.
