Thysal - Would anyone notice if I somehow showed up at someone's house tomorrow? The turkey sounds good.

Me - Nope, not going to happen.

Nalya - (cuddling Tynx) So Shawn, where are you from?

Zanya - How do characters become unresponsive? (eyes Jaynin's post suspiciously)

Me - Nothing you should worry about. You guys are never quiet.

Zanya - Ha harr de harr.

Shawn: I'm from my author's world around the 1960s. It's... interesting.

Jay: Yeah, 3 of the main characters die. *glares at me*

Me: Hey, I'm not entirely certain-

Jay: And-

Me: Phew. *wiped forehead* That might have been a problem.

Shawn: *scratches Tynx behind the ears*

Jay: Mmph hummph!

Azriel: *looks around confused* What is thanksgiving? And what is a 'butterball' turkey?? Don't you hunt your own turkeys?

Chayn: [Looks at the Mountain Dew Curiously, then sips it] Mmm... that is tasty [Drinks more]

Cory: Oh boy.

Seymour: Where did the squirrel go?

Ponkin: [Is currently running around in frenzied circles, but every time he turns he runs into a tree. But doesn't seem to notice/care and keeps on running]

Ashton: Judah's going to be mad...

Me: Judah's not here. And technically you aren't supposed to be either, nor is Ponkin. He's only staying because I'm saving you and the rest from his hyper state.

Chase: Um, it's not quite magic... at least... I don't know how to explain.

Me: There are six parts to the sword, each represent and make up an attribute. Except for one, which represent an trait Chase has.

Chase: Excuse me?

Me: [Ignores] What you just saw glowing is the first part, an arrowhead. Here's the parts:
Arrowhead: Sharpness
Willow bough: Flexibility
Diamonds: Strength
Eagle tail feather: Balance
Dark red marble: Weight
Lion claw: Courage.

Chase: [Backs up and tries to knock Elanhil off balance, but gets his shoulder cut] Those parts give the sword the trait each stands for. So for flexibility- [Lets the sword bend - a lot - while blocking a blow] the sword can bend further than a normal sword could.

Tynx: [Closes eyes and purrs again at all the attention]

Me: You think he's forgotten about the turkey?

Tynx: [Opens one eye glaringly at me] I haven't forgotten. You will pay.

Seymour: What did you do?

Me: Um... I might have played a little joke on him and Shawn on the CR yesterday with a turkey...

Cory: That's cold, Aris.

Me: But I explained it to them afterward! [Trying very hard to ignore the big dragon in the background who has discovered barrels of Mountain Dew]

Tynx: Still, I will have my revenge.

Me: You're my character. I beat you.

Tynx: [Snorts, then curls up with Shawn and Nalya]

Me:

Shawn: We will have revenge. *glares*

Me: Eep.

Jay: Uh-oh. *hides from Chayn*

Shawn: *gives Tynx a belly rub* Yeah, you're a good fox.

I wish my other characters were developed enough to bring them in! I think Tanner needs another character from his world to hang out with...

Tanner: No, I'm just... Bored.

Pernoxnix: Although the conversation could liven up if Melany and Tiberius were present...

Shawn: Well, Lady Aris and my author gave Tynx and me a turkey, since we wanted to have a Thanksgiving meal. The turkey had little turkeys inside, and they let us think they had killed a pregnant turkey, when turkeys lay eggs!

Me: *cough* Jay?

Jay: I am not coming out. Forget it.

Haha! That's funny.

Elanhil: Where is Griffin?

Me: Beats me.

Trina: *looks at Elanhil* YOU'RE ALIVE!

Elanhil: *looks at Trina* Of course I'm alive. Whats wrong with you?

Me: Ooops!

Elanhil and Trina: *Turn to look at me*

Elanhil: Are we missing something here?

Me: *whistles* Oh, nothing, nothing at all. You'll find out eventually.

Tynx: I think her cat already gave our revenge.

Me: That's not funny.

Tynx: Yeah it is.

Me: Alright, if YOU wish to be thrown up on, be my guest!

Seymour: ??

Tynx: Her cat threw up on her notebook.

Me: And now I have to copy everything into a new one! It'll take me ages! Someone stop the dragon from drinking the Mountain Dew!

Cory: [Busts out laughing]

Me: WHy are you laughing? You're involved with the game, don't think I won't do something to you in it!

Cory: [Stops laughing]

Seymour: Be thankful your villain isn't here to mock you.

Me: I know. He's being gloomy in the CR. I guess I should let him back in here for now, and then back in the CR when it's time for his duel.

Mordir: What'd I miss?

Chayn: [Looks up from slurping down Mountain Dew] What's in this stuff? It's amazing!

Ponkin: It's so bubbly!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ashton: Oh this won't end well. A hyped up squirrel and dragon? What's next?

Me: Well, we could always-

Ashton: That was a rhetorical question, Aris. One not meant to be answered.

Me: And now, before I leave... HAPPY THANKSGIVING EVERYONE!

Tynx: Let's eat! [However, does not get up from the ground, as he's getting his belly rubbed]

Chase:

Me - Oh my, your cat threw up on your notebook? Sounds like something my dog would do.

Thysal - (walks over to Chayn) Mind if I join you? The drink smells good.

Niarah - This oughta be good. Hello, Ashton, and welcome!

Me - Ok, here's a couple more of my new characters. For now, this fantasy is set in the modern era (meaning blue jeans, iPods, cars, etc.) My two humans are average teens, Ryan and Sylvia.

(A teenaged girl accompanied by a dragon enters. Her eyes and hair are dark, and she has an intelligent, friendly expression. Her dragon is the size of a puppy, and has large paws and wings, obviously growing into them. He has large almond shaped eyes the color of pure gold. He is almost completely black, with gold tracings on his dark scales)

Me - Ahh, no. The little dragon is Ember, not Ryan. Ryan, where are you?!

Sylvia - He decided he didn't want to come. Hi everyone!

Me - *sigh* (walks out to find the rebellious character)

Ember - (Lifts his head into the air to sniff, and sneezes)

Zanya - Hey, Sylvia and Ember. Glad you could make it. Nalya is over there, with the fox.

Sylvia - (spots Tynx) Oh, he's adorable!

Sabre - Didn't someone else say the exact same thing a few posts ago?

Ember - (hides behind Sylvia when he sees the other dragons)

Thysal - Can he talk? How big is he going to get?

Sylvia - I don't know. I just . . . found him.

Ember - (Growls at Thysal)

Thysal - (backs away) Ok, then. Point taken.

Shawn: It's okay, Ember. Wow, you're really cool looking. *rubs Tynx's belly* Ha ha, we have got revenge!

Me: I'm sorry about your notebook. That is not fun.

Jay: Eep! 2 hyped-up dragons? *digs a hole and hides in it*

Me: Brave up, will you?

Jay: I'm- Hey, treasure!

Shawn: Yeah, right.

Me: Yeah... that wasn't fun. But hey, there is one good side: I get to add more extra pages for the section where I add stuff when I think of it.

Cory: She's made up a very futuristic computer game, which involves sending a person's mind/thoughts into the game to control an in-game person.

Me: It's cool...

Chayn: [Moves over to give Thysal room] Join the fun. Come join us, too, Ember. You will like it. A young growing dragon needs his energy.

Cory: Some people would beg to differ.

Tynx: [Thoroughly enjoying the attention]

Seymour: Welcome to the new characters.

Chayn: [Has a big mouthful of Mountain Dew] Join the fun! Watch out for the squirrel.

Ashton: [Dips his head in respect to Niarah] Thank you. It is a pleasure being here.

Ponkin: I NEVER WANT TO LEEEAAVVVEE!!!!!!

Me: Um... I'm not sure what to do with him...

Cory: It'll wear off.

Tynx: Wanna bet?

Jay: Wow... I'm not telling you! I don't know that I can trust you. Iri definitely won't get over here.

Me: Ouch.

Shawn: You might not want to be here, Mordir. The dragon's are drinking Mountain Dew...

Me: Yeah...

Shawn: Treasure? For real? Can I help?

Jay: Yeah!

Shawn: Want to help, Tynx?

Tynx: Sure!

Mordir: What is Mountain Dew?

Me: It's a kind of drink that isn't in your world. DOn't worry, so far the only one it's really affected is Ponkin. We're still waiting on the dragon results.

Chayn: [Sniffs Smoky] Hello. Come join us.

Me: Aw, that's cute! Congrats, Smoky!

Seymour: Your little fireball of energy is building a bonfire.

Ponkin: [A few yards away throwing sticks, logs, leaves, grass, and just about anything flammable onto a big pile, all while talking about something or other super fast, so it's not understandable.]

Cory: And, what's he gonna start that with?

Me: It's best not to ask.

Ponkin: FIRE!! HAHAHAHAAHAHA!

Chayn: You might want to think about stopping him.

Ashton: That's it, I'm getting Judah. And Bowa, and Lars, and Geiki.

Me: You're not getting anyone yet. We've got enough people here who can help catch him if he gets out of control.

Tynx: Yeah, but how many will WANT to try catching him?

Rob: [Almost ready to bust a gut from laughing so hard]

Timothy: I don't think they find this that funny, Rob.

Cassie: [Joins Shawn and Nalya with Tynx] Where's the treasure?

Ashton: [Trotting back and forth, nervous]

Me: Thank heavens I have mature characters who are able to control the rest.

Cory: Who counts as mature?

Me: You, Seymour, Tim, Rob, Sophia, Ashton, and sometimes Mordir, depending on what mood he's in.

Mordir: Oh, thanks.

Rahor - There's such a thing as a mature villain?

Niarah - Mordir's pretty cool, so I guess so.

Sylvia - @Smoky: Ohh, congratulations! How old is the hatchling now?

Ember - (sniffs Smoky and wiggles in delight)

Me - (comes back, dragging a reluctant character, who is trailed by a second young dragon) This is Ryan, and he's sullen, stubborn, and rebellious.

Ryan - Gee, thanks.

Me - His companion is named Silver, and she's a water dragon. She's currently only the size of a labrador retriever, but she can talk.

Silver - HI!

Sabre - @Ryan: Oh, you again.

Ryan - (sarcastically) Yeah, good to see you too, Sabre.

Zanya - Will you two knock it off?

Niarah - (watching the whole scenario) Humans are strange.

Rahor - I don't think they're all human . . . And I'm not talking about Zanya.

Thysal - (Quivering from the Mountain Dew) Oh my gosh, that was awesome! (Unable to control herself, leaps into the air and circles the room)

Nalya - And it begins . . .

Elanhil: *looks confused* Where does our duel stand?

Merashath: Oh, no. Crazy dragon on the loose. I guess I must go kill it. *Begins to fly off*

Me: Oh no you don't. *Grabs Merashath and pulls him down*

Merashath: But, but you're to small to do that!

Me: If I were a character, yes. But since I'm the author, no.--OOh! New characters!

Steve: Hi! *Runs up to new characters* Hi!

Mordir: [Glares at Rahor]

Me: Chill. You don't want to start anything.

Mordir: I'll start something if I want to.

Seymour: You better not.

Chayn: [Nudges Ember and Silver to the Mountain Dew] Come join us, little ones. [Drinks some more] I feel.... tingly... [Spreads wings slowly]

Cory: Back up, everyone.

Chase: Well, if we take it literally, the duel stands right here. [Gets smacked on the back of the head as Timothy walks past] But otherwise, I really don't know.

Me: Hmm, I was worried that the duel would be exclusive to two at a time, or something. Didn't expect a complete stand still.

Tynx: Hi, new characters! Welcome to the- [Gets blown backward as Chayn leaps into the sky.] Wow, that was awesome! Give Smoky some, I wanna do that again!

Me: Only if Smoky wants some.

Ashton: Where's Ponkin?

Me: Probably getting himself into some kind of trouble we won't be able to stop him in. Don't worry he'll somehow manage to avoid death. Tynx does that a lot.

Thysal - (looses a piercing whistle, then dives down towards Merashath, clipping him with all four paws as she swoops back upwards) YEE HAAH!

Niarah - (disappears) I think I'll wait until it wears off, thank you.

Rahor - @Mordir: I'm sorry, my friend, but would a mature creature try to annihilate anyone, or destroy anything? Sounds rather like--

Me - (grips his muzzle) DON'T do that.

Rahor - (pulls my hands away from his face) DON'T touch me.

Ryan - (stuffs his hands in his pockets) This place is weird, I don't want to be here.

Sylvia - (smacks him on the back of the head) Oh, lighten up, will you? (watches as Ember walks towards the soda with nonexistant grace) Umm, is that a good idea?

Silver - Do we care? Whoop! (she trips and falls headfirst into the Mountain Dew)

Ryan - Hey Silver? Careful, girl!

Sabre - Brace yourself . . . .

Zanya - I think I'll follow Niarah's example. (Shifts into feline form and bounds to the opposite side of the room)

Jay: *stares at the dragons* Uh...

Shawn: Relax, they'll only hurt the bad guys. C'mon, Cassie, Tynx, and Nalya, help us dig! There's a box, and if you look through this hole, you can see something shiny!

Jay: Why did you tell every-

Shawn: *puts hand over his mouth* Do you want to be out there with the dragons?

Jay: Good point.

Me: This is really cool, guys. I wonder how if affects little dragons...

Jay: Did someone say fire?

Shawn: Oh, hi, new characters! Azriel, watch out.

Jay: I feel... short.

Tynx and Cassie: [Hurry over to the hole]

Chayn: [Roars and spirals downward, sharply turning up just above Mordir]

Mordir: Hey! [Looks at Rahor] It's alright.

Me: Well, for him mature could mean he doesn't do anything stupid (except what he's supposed to do, being a villain).

Ponkin: [Scurries up onto Jay's head] I'M KING OF THE MOUNTAIN!!!!

Tynx: That stuff won't wear off, will it?

Cory: [Ducks as Chayn whips by] Not for a very long time.

Me: Sheesh, we have two hyper dragons above and a hyper squirrel below. What next?

Tynx: We might have two more dragons up there soon.

Chayn: I feel great!

Jay: Those are huge- Hey, I'm not 7 any more! *eyes dragons* Stay away from Shawn, please.

Shawn: *digging* Hey, this is one cool shovel! I might ask for this for Christmas.

Jay: *tries to pull Ponkin off his head* Yowch! He's in my hair! Help, please?

Shawn: Come on, Ponkin, come over here. Yeah... *tries to remove him from Jay's head* That's not a mountain, the mountain is over there. *motions to pile of dirt*

Me: Good luck, Shawn.

Jay: Hey!

Me: *shrug*

Shawn: Cassie, here's a shovel. Now, be careful, and don't throw the dirt in people's faces.

Jay: *wipes face* Speak for yourself. *tries to remove Ponkin again*

Shawn: Tynx, you don't need a shovel, do you? I'll help clean your fur when you're done, if you want.

Ponkin: No! I shall not be removed!

Cory: [ Helps Shawn pry Ponkin off of Jay] You go play over this way and be good.

Ponkin: KING OF THE MOUNTAIN! [Takes his stand on the pile of dirt]

Cassie: OK, thanks. [Begins digging]

Tynx: I don't think I do. [Unsheaths claws] Where do I dig?

Seymour: [Watching Chayn and Thysal in amusement]

Rob: At least they're gettin' it all out. Sooner the better.

Sophia: It's nice to see all the little ones getting along.

Jay: *puts on a hard hat a precaution against hyped-up animals* I am in your debt, Cory.

Shawn: *eyes Tynx's claws* Wow. Um, right over here. See the edge of the box? Nice job, Cassie.

Jay: Definitely, Rob. At least they aren't hiccuping fire.

Ember - (after drinking a little, curls up and falls asleep. Sylvia scoops him up)

Sylvia - Hmm. He's not caffine responsive, is he? (ducks as Thysal swoops overhead) This is getting dangerous.

Nalya - (shapeshifts into a silvery-blue wolf to help the digging) I'm hoping against hope that those dragons don't dive-bomb us . . .

Zanya - (from across the room) Look out for Silver!

Ryan - Oh no. Silver!

Silver - (hyped up on Mountain Dew, starts galloping around the room. Even though she has no wings, she is incredibly fast) Oh my, this is amazing! (races towards Jay) Heads up!

Sabre - Ryan, control your dragon!

Ryan - She's not my dragon, she's her own dragon!

Nalya - (Becomes human once more and brushes her hair out of her eyes) Oh please, don't start, you two.

Thysal - (rockets towards Smoky, and spins away at the last second) Come on, join us!

Zanya - Please don't join them!

Shawn: *tenses* Jay!

Jay: *grabs a rope and pulls himself up at the last second*

Shawn: Phew. *relaxes You might want to stay in the hole. *sees Ember* Aw, isn't he precious?

Me: I know!

Jay:

Shawn: Thanks for helping, Nalya! I hope so too.

Cory: Not a problem.

Tynx: [Begins digging]

Chayn: [Swoops down and over Ryan, missing him by a hair] You wingless ones are missing out big time!

Seymour: If they do start hiccuping, we are in danger. Chayn doesn't breathe fire.

Mordir: I think I'll test my luck on the fire than the poison, thanks.

Rob: It's all gotta get out some way. Be thankful it isn't gas.

Cory: That would be very bad.

Chayn: [Plummets vertically straight toward the hole, than flies off just a few yards above it.]

Ashton: [Whinnies and backs up fearfully]

Me: We really should have saved the Mountain Dew craze for the New Year....

Tanner: *sips Mountain Dew* I never thought introducing caffeine to a fantasy culture would have such an affect. Does anyone know if it changes anything about wielding magic?

Cory: No idea. Who wants to try it?

Seymour: Help yourself.

Cory: Oh, haha. I don't think it would affect me. I've lived in the real world before. You, on the other hand-

Me: No one of my group's drinkin' anymore of it until the other two have calmed down. Where did Ponkin go?

Ponkin: [In a tree above a deep chasm somewhere far away] And now, i shall die with honor, saving the princess I love! I will be calm, and.... CANNONBALL!!!!! [Jumps off the tree]

Me: [Smacks forehead and catches Ponkin before he lands, then sets him back on the dirt mound]

Ponkin: And now.... I die...

Mordir: What part of your crazed mind thought him up?

Me: [Hits Mordir] I am not crazed. He's supposed to be cute and talkative. Not this. This is the effect of too much Mountain Dew.

Cory: That thing is driving me nuts. I'm almost hoping Hadwin is right: the Mountain Dew kills him.

Me: [Hits Cory] You are not helping, any of you!

Ponkin: [Fast asleep on his dirt mound, completely unaware of Tynx's occasional spray of dirt that sometimes gets thrown his way.]

Ashton: Looks like he's calmed down, now.

Cory: Now we've gotta wait for the dragon.

Me: Goodness knows how long that will be. We know how much Ponkin drank. We have no idea how much Chayn drank.

Don't have time to read all of that...

Elanhil: I don't have to die!!!

Trina: YAY!

Thysal - What? You missed it? I'll have to repeat the action then. (Swoops down towards Merashath and pulls up at the last second, tapping him with all four paws) And I'll add to it! (spins around and brushes him with her wingtips as she flies vertically to the ground)

Ryan - (Ducks as Chayn soars overhead) Man, that was close. (glares at Zanya who appears to be snickering)

Sylvia - (Kisses the top of Ember's head) Thanks, I think he is very precious.

Ryan - She tends to be proud of her dragon.

Sylvia - And you aren't?

Sabre - (dives to the side as Silver hurtles past) Speaking of which . . .

Ryan - Silver, come here!

Silver - (dives into the barrel of Mountain Dew, and vanishes)

Ryan - Silver!

Zanya - Water dragon. She's fine.

Nalya - (scoops up Ponkin) Aw, you're such a sweet squirrel. Just misunderstood, that's all.

Pernoxnix: How are it's affects nullified to you Tanner? I would roe the day I saw a shepao or lyrblaka that consumed this potion.

Tanner: I'm a teenager. We're pretty much immune to everything.

Merashath: *Quickly turns his head to face Thysal, but jumps away* What--

Me: *laughs* (what kind of creature is Thysal? Dragon?)

Elanhil: *snicker* Hooray! You finished our book! And I won! I beat Merashath!

Merashath: *snorts* No you didn't.

Me: Well, technically you gave up...but I left you alive for a sequel.

Trina: Hooray for Elanhil!

Hadwin and Elanhil: Trina, you have to--

Me: No, you guys. leave that for the story.

Trina: *shakes her head sadly* No guys. I told you I need more time.

Elanhil: We don't have time!

Hadwin: Author told you guys, leave it for the book.

Elanhil: Well he's always bossing me around. I want to be free!

Hadwin: Without him, there's no you.

Elanhil: So what? Let me go free!

Me: O...K,....

Elanhil:

Trina: *waves hands in front of Elanhil.* Helooo-ooooo.

Me: *laughs* Want back now?

Chayn: [Dives downward, then soars back up, this time, she's carrying a barrel of Mountain Dew]

Me: Don't drink and fly!

Tynx: [Looks up at the dragons] They make quite the group, don't they?

Me: If get enough of 'em hopped up on Mountain Dew, yes, they do.

Cory: I'm just glad Ponkin's settled down.

Me: Yeah. No more MD for him.

Tynx: Can I try some?

Me: Buddy, you and Ponkin have about the same amounts of energy. What do you think my answer will be? Add in the fact that Ponkin has no special powers.

Tynx: Oh yeah... Well, can I try some without any of whatever it is that makes them go all loopy?

Seymour: Congratulations on your victory, Elanhil. By the look of it, you have 'defeated' a skilled opponent.

Tynx: Well yeah. Merashath can fly, has claws, and is really, really evil... how'd you do it?

Cory: You're still thinking about that match?

Tynx: Maybe.

Seymour: Whatever the case, I'm sure Merashath didn't leave without something to remember you by. [Smiles]

Ponkin: [Snoring lightly]

Chase: I almost wish he didn't calm down. It was so much fun to watch him.

Ashton: Quite the opposite for me.

Mordir: Let's all be thankful the other three of Aris's dragons aren't still here to be sugared up.

Cory: Pernoxnix, Mountain Dew isn't really supposed to do this to people. I'm guessing it's just fantasy creatures who show more of the effects than people do.

Cassie: You wanna try some? We can put it in a tiny cup, and it probably won't affect you at all.

Shawn: *digs* Hey, the box is almost out!

Jay: *oblivious* *stares at dragons* Uh, more hyper dragons?

Shawn: Ooh...

Me:

Me: Don't worry, Jay. The other dragons aren't here. Chayn, quit drinking! You're going to run into somebody!

Chayn: [Doesn't appear to have heard]

Tynx: [Buries his nose into the dirt and moves it out of the way. But sneezes] Almost out!

Cassie: Yay! I can't wait to see what it is!

Shawn: Bless you, Tynx.

Jay: *brushes dirt off* Now how do we pull it out of this hole?

Me: *innocence* Excellent question.

Shawn: Chayn, can you help us get this out real quick?

Jay: *facepalm*

Me: *smiles at Cassie* You do, do you?

Shawn: *suspicious* I don't like that look.

Me: Who, me? *innocence*

Shawn: Yeah, right.

Cassie: Yeah! I can't wait! It's not every day we find treasure!

Tynx: [Sniffs the box] I wonder what's inside?

Cory: [WHistles]

Chayn: [Drops barrel and glides over. She lands heavily and a bit clumsily, then pulls the chest out with a grunt. Then, setting it down, she flies off again, taking another barrel with her.]

Me: At least she was clearheaded enough to pull it out. I was afraid she'd it around and hit someone in the head.

Mordir: I remember when I used to look for treasure. Although I usually counted rusty sword hilts treasure.

Tynx: You?

Mordir: I had my child life.

Tynx: Really?

Me: Knock it off.

Shawn: *wrinkles her brow at Mordir* You?

Jay: Uh, guys? The box?

Shawn: Right! *inspects it* Uh, Tynx, can you turn into a locksmith?

Jay: That is one solid box. *looks at me*

Me: *shrugs* Try to figure it out.

Pernoxnix: *looks into the keyhole of the lock, uses one toe like an index finger and sticks his claw into the keyhole*

Lock: click *opens*

Tanner: Bingo, it's great hanging with this guy, he's like a ninja.

Shawn: Cool, thanks!

Jay: *struggles with the lid* Okay, all together now, LIFT! *grunts*

Me: *smiles fondly at my charries*

Shawn and Jay: *help lift the lid* C'mon!

Tynx: [Shifts into a cobra and slithers around behind it, sinks fangs under lid and pulls]

Cory: That looks painful.

Seymour: You have a skilled companion, Tanner.

Cory: So, what happened in Mordir's past?

Me: He grew up as a slave, then ran off and was rescued by a small band of fugitives. Then after an accident, he runs away form there and finds himself among thieves, and rescues them. But the leader there is killed, and Mordir is made leader.

Mordir: Oh, sure, why don't you go ahead and tell them that my present name isn't my real one?

Me: [Aside to other authors] Only because I can't remember it, or even if I had one.

All former diggers: *grunt and pull until the lid slides off and almost hits Shawn's foot, but lands on Jay's instead*
