this is slightly reminiscent of Norkoski Elixer from my friends book...

Negraz: (Is able to bring one of his swords around to block Kimensul, but Kimun's kick hits him right in the face. He disintegrates into a pool of shadow which then disappears. He reappears behind Kimun with four arms and four shadow swords) Let's try this again! (Two of the swords stretch out and appear to grab Kimun's shoulder. Negraz pulls back on them flipping Kimun over onto his face, making him drop his swords. Negraz pinions down the swords so they will not attack him of their own will by creating solid shadow to hold them down) Yield!

Kimun does not flip back on his face, but twists in the air hard, tearing the swords loose and driving with both his feet at Negraz's chest. Both his swords dance in a flaming cylinder about his body warding off Negraz's swords.

Kimun isn't taken down easily...

Negraz: Good, good! (steps sideways to avoid Kimun's kick, brings a sword in on either side, and stabs with another, preparing to block with the other)

Griffin: What happened to my opponent?

Me: He'll be back in good time.

Raedon: This is where I split and run. *drops the rifle, becomes a rabbit, runs past Merashath, stops behind him, becomes a dragon, blasts some fire down Merashath's neck, shapes an eagle again and disappears up towards the 'ceiling' somewhere.*

Me: Raedon? Get back down here!

Jathan: Did he really split and run?

Me: He might have... Raedon!

Negraz steps into Kimun's trap. Kimun spins in the air, knocking Negraz's blades to the side, and drives himself backwards against Negraz's chest. Invisible arms lock around Negraz while Kimun's swords keep the other blades at bay. The pair fly into the air and ram against the ground, sending Negraz's swords flying. Kimun's two swords vanish into two rings, one on each hand, even as he pins Negraz to the ground. Light and darkness stream from Kimun's hands, keeping Negraz from vanishing.

Long to describe, but it is one seamless move. Not even an Elve, master in the Elvish arts of unarmed combat, can stop this throw and pin. They have to deal with the results afterwards.

Sonderen: *watching with fascination* I could learn something from this.

Aaron: I think all of us could. Elanhil, are you still looking for an opponent?

Me: No, you've already dueled! Plus, Russel says you're overworking yourself and you're supposed to be in bed.

Aaron: Fiddlesticks. *twirls dagger*

Iri: I'll fight him. As long as a brat doesn't sneak up behind me this time.

Me: That was your own stupid fault. If Elanhil agrees, you can duel him, though I'd rather have Sonderen do it.

Sonderen: Me?

Me: Yes. I need to develop you and figure out if you're gonna be in a new story.

Sonderen: Oh. *shrug*

Kian: I know I'm gonna be in the next one!! I get to have Mya follow me through the catacombs and then *dramatic gasp* get us lost!

Mya: What?!

Kian: Yes! It'll be so much fun, in the quiet and dark ... *jumps up and down*

Mya: No it won't, you twerp! Get away from me!

Kian: *ears droop, and he slinks into a corner*

Me: Mya --

Mya: Leave me alone. *sulk*

Kerra: There are such peculiar creatures here. Shapeshifting ones, invisible ones, two-legged cats...

Tiris: It's a whole new world.

Lance: Oh, no. I'm sure you all have attitude. I've no doubt of it.

Nara: Anyone ever tell you that you get yourself into really weird situations?

Lance: No. Why?

Elbas: Humans are so amusing.

Seymour: Interesting action. [Ducks and spins at once and swipes his staff to knock over Niarah's]

Tiris: I wanna duel someone.

Me: Not a chance.

Tiris: Why not?

Me: Because you all (Cory excluded) might be takin' a vacation. I'm possibly bringing Chase back in with his family.

Cory: You really need to make up your mind about who you have here and stick with it.

Me: [Ignores]

Tynx: Ooh, I wanna duel somebody!

Me: You've had a turn.

Tynx: Yeah, but I lost.

Me: Technically, you didn't. I think that one ended with no winner.

Tynx: So I didn't win.

Me: But you didn't lose.

Tynx: I didn't win.

Me:

Tynx: I should... um, stop talking now.

Me: Good.

Chayn: I don't want to leave. We just got here.

Me: Yeah, well your story's at a halt right now because I want to do the series. It'll be awesome!

Cory: ???

Me: Hush up.

Cory: I didn't say anything!

Charlotte to Azriel: It's the least I can do for her. She did (with the help of God) create me and my story. ^^ (Calen's back hurt from her little trip to the chiropractor.)

Me: It still does.

Lucius:

Charlotte: You mustn't complain. You went there willingly.

Me: Of course I did! Because my hurt worse before going!

Charlotte: *shrug*

Lucius: What are you and your family doing for Thanksgiving, Charlotte?

Charlotte: I'm not entirely sure yet. *taps index finger on chin thoughtfully* Grandmama and Grandpapa are sure to come. I haven't seen them since harvest time. What about you?

Lucius: I think my mother is planning some silly party. It is difficult for family to visit since we relocated.

Charlotte: Oh, a party! That sounds lovely!

Me: Ooo, fun! A party! Hey...I just had a thought...Wouldn't it be fun to do a Holy Worlds Thanksgiving?

Charlotte: *claps hands together* That would be joyous! ^_^

Lucius: I agree, I believe that would be wonderful.

Me: What does everyone else think? ^^

Me: ooo! That would be fun!

Merashath: [As soon as the gun stops firing, he stops glowing and drops to the ground, all of his energy sucked out of him. The fire on his neck revives him, and he spins around in time to see the eagle fly to the ceiling. Merashath in turn flies up, a little weakened, to meet Raedon in full flight]

Me: Raedon has been added to my custom dictionary. I'm getting tired of staring at little red lines. Oh, and I also recently decided that Merashath is a pyro.

Elanhil: I accept, Sonderen. Would you rather have a battle of magic, or of the blade?

Me: Elanhil has strong powers of magic that has to do with matter. However, he is just not able to grasp mind magic and spirit magic. He is thus still considered a wizling. He is very skilled with a blade, as well. ... Oh, wow. I have a city named Negraz...

Me: Yes, that would be fun!!

Aarin: Wait, it's my turn to strike?

Me: Um... I don't know... I got lost, you were dueling every guy you met...

Aarin: I found it.

Me: Oh, right. Griffin (author), Aarin said that not me! Yes, Aarin is wearing some chain or scale mail. Not too much.

Aarin: Sure blame the character!

Me: I will.

Aarin: Argh. Let me fight, then.

Aarin leaps back to let the swords swing harmlessly by him, then preforms a Kakari-geiko type attack (tons of quick intense strikes) upon Griffin in a desperate attempt to win.

Aarin: Could ya stop making my action pink??

Me: Nope! It's fun to make you hate it so much.

Aarin:

Telvia: you're winning, Raedon, you're winning!

Jathan: Turn and fight, silly! He's weakened now, go for it!!!

Raedon: *turns mid-flight and attacks Merashath with beak, talons, claws, whatever. Feathers fly, Raedon changes shape several times, etc.*

Raedon: etc???

Me: Figure it out. It's not like you're fighting with weapons or something.

Telvia: He's going to get hurt...

Me: I'll make him better when it's over.

Telvia: Promise?

Me: promise.

Telvia: Okay...

Azriel: A PARTY?!?!?! I LOVE Parties! I'm coming!

Me: "IF I'm on on Thanksgiving, which I very well may not be."

Azriel: "Stop spoiling my fun." *looks at Charlotte* "Tell her I should come. Please???" *charmcharmcharm*

[Time seems to stop as Raedon and Merashath fly towards each-other. Replaying it on the tapes, we see Merashath licking his lips savagely.]

Merashath: [Engages with his talons, and changes his fighting tactics depending on Raedon's shape.]

Me: Can we have a thanksgiving party, Jay?

Me: If there was one I was thinking it might be better a day or two before the actual holiday. That way it would be easier for everyone to participate. I'm glad the idea has positive feedback.

Me to Jay: Sorry, maybe I should have run the idea by you before throwing it out there. Do you think we could do something of that sort? :3

Charlotte to Azriel: I personally don't see a problem in your presence there is the party does indeed happen.

Lucius: *mutters* Some people might. *looks at Jay (character)*

Charlotte: *punches him lightly on shoulder and raises an eyebrow at him*

Lucius:

I was thinking it might be more realistic to have the party on facebook rather than here. I don't think it would be realistic to do a whole thing like the b-day party.

Elanhil: *is bored*

Azriel: Oh...yeah, I forgot. *shoulders slump* Jay doesn't like me...

Me: Not much the authors can do right now...

Telvia: What do you mean?

Me: I think we're both waiting for one of the opponents to 1. change tactics 2. fall to the ground 3. Yeild.

Jathan: I don't see either of them doing that. Raedon's too proud and Merashath's too evil.

Me: We'll see.

Griffin: (successfully blocks several attacks and spins to the left as soon as possible sweeping the flat of his blade under Aarin's legs and brings his sword up) It was an honor to fight such a warrior, and I thank you, but it is over. Yield!

Negraz: (Shrieks, brings two arms and starts to pummel Kimun's face, with the other two arms, he beckons to two of his shadow swords, and slices at Kimun's wrists)

Aarin: Did he just win?

Me: He just won.

Aarin: C'mon, can't you make me throw daggers at him or something?? Please??

Tullio:

Me: Sorry. You lost. Kaput. Done.

Aarin:

Me: You can't win every duel!

Aarin:

Tullio: :laughing:

Aarin:

Me: Great, now I have to deal with an angry Aarin for my story. Back to the NaNo, guys.

*characters file out, Aarin still glaring*

Me: ::sigh:: I should restrict him... not let him have any duels in the chat room or something...

Aarin:

Me: Hee hee...

Zanya - Hey, who's the Google[Bot]? Does he/she have any characters to add?

Me - Erm, no.

Sabre - Aarin, who exactly were you duelling?

Rahor - Speaking of duellers, watch out for those two!

Niarah - (As Seymour moves, she launches herself over his head in a flip, spinning around, she whirls her staff in a figure eight motion, then finishes with a jab to his torso)

Thysal - (looming over the duellers) How long do you two plan on extending this?

Niarah - (panting) Long enough . . . He's very good . . . Will you stop breathing down my neck, Ice Breath?!

Thysal - (shakes her head and snorts) Hmph. Felines.

Me: For me the facebook thing would be hard since I am not facebook friends with anyone on Holy Worlds. Or are you talking about the Holy Worlds page on facebook, Elanhil?

Charlotte: *gasp* Lucius! You hurt Azriel's feelings! Go apologize!

Lucius: Wha-?

Charlotte: You must go now.

Lucius to Azriel: *humbled* I apologize for my words if they hurt you. It was out of place. Please forgive me. *bows humbly*

Yes, I was talking about the page.

Merashath: I would do something, but it would depend on what shape Raedon is in. [kicks Raedon in whatever shins he has.]

Hm, that may work...We'll have to see what Jay says.

Something bird related. I don't know, I can't keep up with him.

Raedon: *lands on the ground, shifts to a human, and crouches down to rub his shins.* Vanya, how long do I have to keep doing this?

Jathan: *dies laughing*

Telvia: *looks at Jathan*

Me: Well, if you want to yield to Merashath as the stronger opponent...

Raedon: *shakes head*

Me: What then?

Raedon: I don't know... I'm not trained in this kind of thing... can't we just shake hands and call it quits?

Me: I suggest you ask Merashath that.

Raedon: *turns to Merashath warily, in a defensive stance, and waits for his next move*

Merashath: [Hovers far above Raedon.] I will not stop until you are dead.

Me: No, you will stop before he is dead. You will stop when he says Uncle.

Merashath: [Dive-bombs Raedon from above.]

* chuckles *

An invisible force wards off every strike of the swords, diverting their attacks in a flurry that sends them flying. The same redirects the blows aimed at Kimun's face around his body, completely neutralizing the attack. Kimun maneuvers on top of Negraz skillfully, keeping his struggling body underneath him, and then suddenly releases the two swords from their rings.

Their blades explode from the confinement, penetrating through Negraz's head in two places. Ël-Ërai streams the light of heaven outwards in a consuming torrent through Negraz's body, while Kimensul's black flames decimate his form.

But Negraz cannot be killed, only his manifestation can be destroyed. Kimun is violently flung back from his mount. He hits the ground and lies crumpled against a stone. His swords are gone. Negraz is a vast menacing shadow, felt more than seen, but before him stand two figures.

One is shining in a brilliant white and gold nova of light. The other stands in a deep darkness of impenetrable shadow, flames flickering within him. He steps towards Negraz's presence, and then stops. He turns and looks backwards at Kimun, his demoniacally angelic face gleaming with beauty and power. He pounces on the prostrate form of his master, keening a high cry of victory.

At the same moment Ël-Ërai, in his human form, leaps into the air, raising his hand high in a gesture of command. He locks with Negraz in a spiritual match of strength. Light and darkness flicker over the ground and sky on all sides; sparks of water and fire glint against the stones and earth; the intensity of lightning strains the atmosphere like a harpstring; emotions and passions wash over the spectators like the crashing tides against a shore, as the ripples from the epic conflict rage into invisibility.

Kimun sees Dygrul, once Kimensul, leaping for him, and his face pales. He raises his hand and shouts in another language, commanding Dyrgul to halt. Dyrgul is struck as if by a blow, and remain poised in the air. He cries out and dives again at Kimun. They collide with each other as Kimun leaps up to meet him, and they drive into the ground a little ways off. Darkness creeps along the ground about them as Dyrgul throws his power into the destruction of Kimun. His arms strike at him, plowing through the soil and rocks like irresistible blades as Kimun deflects them desperately from beneath.

Suddenly there is a sensible crack, and the air seems to hang limp. A dark weight upon everyone vanishes, and Ël-Ërai out of invisibility in the air to the ground. He lies prone for a moment, and then staggers to his feet. Negraz is no more, banished. He turns and sees Kimun's peril, and runs forward, his arm blazing in a triumphant glory of light. He strikes Dyrgul on the throat, flinging him off Kimun. Kimun flips to his feet and plunges his hand into Dyrgul's stunned body, commanding him to revert.

Dyrgul vanishes back into the form of a ring, his growl of defiance vanishing from the air. Ël-Ërai bows solemnly to Kimun and leaps lightly into the air, landing in his master's hand as a sword.

Kimun turns slowly to face the crowd of characters and authors, panting.

"Does anyone want a dance duel?"

Me: Ok, Now that would be awesome to see in a movie.

Cory: Is he actually banished?

Seymour: [Ducks and brings his staff around in an arc, pushing Niarah's to the ground]

Tynx: I DO!!!

Me: We don't even know what a dance duel - wait, is dance dueling like in Pendragon: Sword of His Father? What the girl and her dad were doing?

Cory: You come up with very odd connections.

Me: Shush. I'll make you duel.

Cory: [Remains silent]

Seymour: Let him duel. He needs the practice.

Chayn: I wanna duel such a skilled human. May I? Please?

Me: Only if no one else wants to. We've had a turn. But if Mordir doesn't chill out, he will.

Cory: You did see what Kimun just did with Negraz, right? He doesn't seem to take kindly to villains.

Me: You're concerned for a villain?

Cory: No... I'm.... argh.

Rowen: [Rumbles with laughter]

Cory: Go away.

Me: OK, dragons and Keepers except for Cory: You guys will go back home for now. I haven't been writing anything for you, so you all will wait for me until I do.

Chayn: Can't I stay for a little while? To see if I can duel?

Me: Alright, for a little while. Then Chase and his family are coming back.

No one can be permanently killed or harmed in Ëtroth. Negraz returns.

"A dance duel is a challenge of art and skill, not of combat. The goal is to be a better dancer than your opponent."

Azriel: (to me) I think I LIKE people humbly bowing before me!

Me: Oh, dear.

Azriel: "Apology excepted my good man." *bows back*

Me: Ooh, that sounds fun.

Tynx: So what, neither can you.

Me: Yes I can.

Cory: So... When's Chase supposed to be coming back?

Me: Now.

Chase: And... we're back?

Cassie: YEAH!!!

Chase: [Winces] Ow.

Me: And, Chase's father and Cassie's mother.

Timothy: Well, you weren't kidding when you said this place was crazy.

Cassie: Yeah, and there're villains here, too!

Sophia (original last name is Duvalle, but when she married Tim, her last name's Daren): Villains? [Looks around nervously]

Cassie: It's OK, Mom. They won't hurt you. This is where Chase played dodgeball!

Timothy: Did we lose Rob someplace?

Me: Haha, probably. Rob Skylark is a friend of Timothy's.

Sophia: [Looks at Kimun] Who is he?

Cassie: A really strong cool guy! He's the admin's character, and really powerful! He has cool swords that come to life, and they have names, and kind of their own personalities, and, and, it's really awesome!

Timothy: [Is laughing]

Chayn: So these people are the ones you're going to be writing about?

Me: Yes.

Cassie: Oh, and there's Azriel. He's really nice. He gave me a rose. But a lot of the guys don't like him. I don't know why.

Tynx: And you all think I talk too much.

Tanner: wow, you leave for too long and there's a party up in here.

Pernoxnix: Indeed. They seem to enjoy trying to kill each other as well. isn't there a common foe to unleash ourselves upon instead?

Tanner: Haha, you beat me up when we met, what's the difference?

Pernoxnix: You were out of control and there were lives at stake.

Tanner: *scratches the back of his head absent-mindedly* true...

Pernoxnix: no fear Tahn, you'll see your share of common enemies soon enough.

Zanya - (thoughtfully as she watches Kimun finish off Negraz) So in the way of duelling, winning doesn't depend on the character's strength or weapons, it depends on the skill of the author's writing?

Sabre - Apparently.

Niarah - (Retreats slightly, swiftly sliding her staff out from beneath Seymour's, then spins and aims a strike at his right shoulder)

Thysal - Pernoxnix, does your story have a villain?

Well, I stuck to the cobha of the worlds and was able to deduce Negraz's reactions to things for that last bit. It was true to life.

Negraz obviously had no groundfighting skills, and that is where Kimun excels. So when Kimun got him to the ground, he had him.

Of course, if Griffin knew more about groundfighting, he might have taught Negraz some things about it. So it also depends on the skill of the author himself, to a degree. * chuckles *

Negraz: I yield. Not to Kimun, but Ël-Ërai is strong.

Me: You still lost.

Negraz: Would anyone else care for a duel? I would be delighted at the prospect.

Me: It's true. I know nothing of ground fighting.

Griffin: Hey, at least I won!

Matt: (gasp) He used a happy smilie! Good job!

Tesra:

Me: If anyone wants a duel, many my characters are open for battle, they all use different weapons though. Phillip: not really magic, but we'll say magic so I don't have to explain. Tesra: bow and arrow. Griffin: sword.
Negraz: magic and sword. Ravork: battle axe and huge broadsword. Timuth: knife and magic(same thing as Phillip) If you want to duel, but want more info on the charrie, pm me.

Pernoxnix: We battle the Neph but we're not sure if they have an incarnate leader. We also have some troubles with the Lilith, Cockatrice, edaximalum, shepao, and occasionally the lyrblaka, but the last two rarely stray from a set territory. Life is rough in the wild.

Tanner: *pats pockets* I don't seem to have my knives or Para Bellum on me, but I'm not bad hand to hand. Anyone wanna give it a shot? You're cool with that right Nix?

Pernoxnix: as long as it's constructive and no one is severely wounded... you may need the practice for the future.

Me: I think Elanhil is up for a duel.

Elanhil: I use a sword or magic.

Me: I will also bring Hadwin back in. He is a wizard.

Hadwin: When did you decide to make me a wizard?

Me: *Shrugs* I don't know. Should I bring Trina in as well?

Elanhil: *Eyes widen* YES! YES!

Me: Hadwin?

Hadwin: Sure. Why not?

Trina: *Looks around nervously.*

Me: She is a slave girl, also Elanhil's sister. He is working his hardest to free her.

Elanhil: *Hugs Trina* It's been a long time, sister.

Me: What about Rinifer?

Trina: *eyes widen* YES! YES!

Elanhil: Rinifer?

Hadwin: Rinifer?

Me: I guess you'd better meet him. He's a co-slave that works at the same place as Trina. They help each other make it through the hard times.

Rinifer: Hi all.

Raedon: *drops, rolls out of Merashath's way, and rolls to his feet again. This is done at the last possible moment; Merashath should, theoretically, crash into the ground instead of Raedon. At which point Raedon, after looking around desperately for help and seeing none shapes a wolf and latches onto one of Merashath's wings*

Me: *stares at Kimun's duel* It's pretty bad when your own weapons turn against you...

Jathan: That... was impressive.

Telvia: A dance duel? I love dancing! Let me dance!

Me: I didn't know you danced...

Telvia: Yes. I do.

Me: I have other characters who dance; but I can't remember who. I know Zephyr does, but she barely exists. Suzanne does, but only as a child. Janin does, but in a ballroom setting. Who's the dancer? Jathan?

Jathan: why are you looking at me?

Me: I thought maybe you'd hacked into my other stories...

Jathan: I only know as much as you do.

Me: *sigh*

Telvia: Let me dance! Let me dance! Please? Please, please?

Me: *thinks this is the perfect place to link to The Lord of the Dance but the girl took the site down...* Telvia, I'm sure Kimun is a very skilled dancer. There's no way you could beat him a dance duel.

Telvia: well, well, well maybe I could dance with Kimun!

Me: Kimun, I think you have a fan...

Me: Chase will duel somebody.

Chase: What?!

Cassie: Yay!

Timothy: Is he ready for it?

Me: Probably not. But it'll be good practice!

Chase: With what?!

Me: The sword, silly.

Chase: OK, one, I don't have that yet. Two, technically, I know nothing about it, as nothing has happened yet. And three, those guys are all better!

Me: You need to chill. [Puts a sword into Chase's hands. It looks like a regular sword in shape, but at the point something gray peeks out (an arrowhead). Along the blade, the out line of a willow bough has been made. On the cross-pieces of the hilt are two diamonds, and in between those in an outline of an eagle's tail feather. Along the handle is another outline, this one of a lion's claw. In the pommel of the sword a dark red marble is set.]

Cory: Wow, that's impressive.

Me: I know. I love it.

Tynx: You seem to love a lot of things.

Me: Not really, just really, really like it.

Tynx: Then why don't you say so?

Me: Because it's too long.

Tynx: Shorten it.

Me: No.

Seymour: You two argue too much. [Brings his right arm upward horizontally (moving his staff to his left hand for a brief moment) and blocks the hit from reaching his shoulder, but gets his arm cut.]

Me: And, the object of the was...?

Seymour: To avoid getting my shoulder hit. If a cut went too deep, I wouldn't have full use of that arm.

Chase: So, who am I dueling?

Me: ANyone. Doesn't matter. Go on a pick somebody, or let them pick you.

Chase: Oh come on-

Me: Scoot.

Cassie: Hi, Hadwin! I want to you meet my parents. This is my mom, and this is my step-dad.

Timothy: Hello.

Sophia: Cassie told us about you. She said you are very smart.

Cassie: He is, he knows lots about Dwarves.

Timothy: I don't doubt it.

Hadwin: I am pleased to meet you. *bows*

Merashath: *Slams into the ground, and hurriedly recovers, lashing out at Raedon with his wing. Raedon bites it, and Merashath uses the other one to put Raedon in a headlock, wrapping the wing tighter and tighter, squeezing tighter and tighter.*

Elanhil: Care to duel, Chase? *twirls sword in his hand out of boredom.*

Me: Raedon, of course, changes shape.

Raedon: *changes into a flea and crawls around Merashath's wings, being as irritable as possible*

Jathan: That's unique...

Me: Whew! 3 pages! I'm glad there wasn't more.

Shawn: Jay? Beat? Uh...

Jay: I wouldn't mind, Azriel. I could get along with you, I think. Just don't start any-

Shawn: These are fast duels. Interestingly, Iri isn't here.

Jay: Hey, wait, you're not 7 here.

Shawn: Nah. You're up soon.

Jay: What?

Griffin: I'll duel Chase or Elanhil, or we could make it a three way duel. That would be interesting.

Tesra: Any candidates for a shoot off?

Phillip: Hadwin, would you care for a magic duel?

Azriel: *evil grin* Is seven year old Jay ticklish?

Shawn: Yes.

Jay: I'm not 7 yet. And no, I'm not.

Me: Now you are.

Jay: *short* No!

Shawn: Such a little boy.

Me: Three-way!

Chase:

Tynx: Awesome! Good luck!

Chase: Oh come on-

Me: You're fine. I'll let you know what you're doing for duels, with the sword.

Cassie: Go Chase go!

Rob: Who's cheerin' for who?

Sophia: Cassie for Chase.

Rob: [Looks around and whistles] Whew, this place is somethin'. Nothin' like-

Me: Shush shush! Don't give stuff away!

Rob: Sorry.

Sophia: It's a pleasure to meet you, Hadwin.
