OK, I have a quest for y'all.
I recently read a book named 'What the Wind Picked Up: Proof that a Single Idea can Launch a Thousand Stories' - it's written by the members of ChiLibris, a Christian published authors group.
Basically, 22 of them wrote short stories with the following elements in them:
- First line is "The wind was picking up."
- Last line is "So that's exactly what she did."
- Included a case of mistaken identity
- Included a pursuit at a noted landmark
- Included an unusual form of transportation
You'd think that all the stories would be the same, but they were very different, and interesting. So! My challenge to you is this:
Write a story, any length, including the same elements as this listI'm curious to see how different our results can be. Elanhil and I, upon brainstorming, found out that with a few minor tweaks even the Cinderella story could very easily fit into this mold. So, your limits aren't as limiting as they seem

Depending on how this challenge goes, we may start threads with other lists of requirements. We'll see. In the meantime, write write write!
