Last week I finished reading A Game of Thrones but realized my lesson 12 for my editing course will take much longer than a week. I will keep working on that this week. I made a lot of progress today and am very excited. The lesson deals with analyzing characters and seeing if I should mix characteristics of weak characters into my keeper characters or combine them into better characters. I've already knocked out three characters today and now my main characters and bad guy are much stronger. I can't wait to start the rewrite. Hopefully this doesn't mean I will have to rewrite every book I write, but for now I am learning.

I hope you all had a good week. What's on tap for this week? Remember that writers don't have to go it alone. Use this to develop writing partners to push you and encourage you to get a word count you can be proud of.

To get out of North Carolina and make my way back to the magical realm of TN.

That sounds awesome, Tim! I'm so glad it's going well for you.

I did well on my goals last week. I did some of my development (probably need to do a little more yet), and posted a world-building thread or two. I didn’t finish my plot synopsis; I switched that goal out mid-week in favor of finishing the rough draft of my sci-fi novella, which I successfully completed. I’m really happy with the progress there.

So for this week…

-Be prepared to start drafting my feature “Child” on Friday, and get a good start on it over the weekend.

-Send my sci-fi novella “Red Rain” to some test readers for feedback.

-Decide on a revised ending for my fantasy novella “Ariella.”

Well, my goals are to finish most of my shoolwork in time to go to the Cincinnati Homeschool Convention, and do a little more plotting out on my script.
