This one is tough for me. I have at least 5 chapters left in my book, but I just want to be done already. I'm going to really push myself this week and finish chapter 40, but I don't know if I'll have it done until Saturday. Here's the schedule I'll have to keep to do it:
Sat-Sun: Write Ch 36
Mon: Write Ch 37
Tues: Write Ch 38
Wed-Th: Write Ch 39
Fri: Write Ch 40

Is anyone else nervous about this? (I am...here I go!)

I"ll stick with three goals a week until school's finished.

1. Write the next Jack Wilder chapter
2.Begin preliminary work on Arthurian legend retelling
3.Continue editing HRatAC

1. Write 2000 words.
2. Write one poem.

Nervous? Nah... not with the totals you've been cracking out under the relentless whip that is known as Write or Die. ;) I think you can do it, and if God agrees, you'll clear it!

My unofficial goal this week is to nail down a publisher I want to try submitting my picture book to, so I have at least another week to get the actual query letter out. Depending on how research goes, this may not be possible, but I'll at least make progress.

Additionally, I have two short scripts that need second drafts. I'd like to get both of those done this week.

Well, mine changes for one. My fantasy goal for this week is to write two chapters of Prince of Yen. Apparently that involves dealing with a bunch of pesky servants.

My goal is simple: write the first draft (novel style) of the short manga that a friend and I are doing....

So far I have one scene done which will need rewriting later for consistency... but I must draft before revising. <grin>

Liking everyone's goals. Mine is going alright. I've written a ton, I think I'm already at 10k since Saturday, and I'm on par with my chapter goals per day, but I'm realizing with every chapter how long it will take me to get to the end. It's not as much time to write as it is words it is taking me to show all the events that wrap up the conclusion. I'd say I have around 3-5 more chapters to write. I doubt I'll be able to finish that by Saturday, but I'll try by the end of the weekend. I can write five chapters by then if I keep this up. The only thing is getting burnt out. I'm writing more than I did in nanowrimo. The good news is I'm having a ton of fun. I'm finding ways to edit earlier stuff to make my plans fit, and the foreshadowing that comes with that gives me confidence in my story.

For example, I had to figure out how my good guy had leverage to make terms to his surrender and bam! I came up with a way to prove my protagonist was the good guy while completing his character arc and making him active in using this piece of leverage either for himself or for the people's best interest. I see a vague place to end, but its getting clearer as I go.

If you see an email from both forums within the same minute, it's likely a copy and you only need to read one. I didn't want to just copy mine, but we don't have a middleground forum to post stuff like this and since I want to involve both forums, I'll be sharing on both. I like your idea about the fantasy goals, though.

I have the first goal completed. The other two won't happen because I've gotten ill.

Sorry to hear that Varon, I pray you will get better soon. Good job on getting that chapter written though, that's something to be happy about.

Well, I could stay up all night and write two more chapters to finish the book, or do it tomorrow on a good night's sleep. The good news is that I wrote 5 chapters this week, so I kind of met my goal of writing up to ch 41, but it took me too long to show what happened, so I still have a few more to go. I did pump out 13,600 words this week, which is my best since the first week of nanowrimo.

Of course God gets the credit, but I also think setting such a high and challenging goal helped tremendously. I'm on pace to finish my second book within three months after the first one took 11 months.

How's everyone else doing?

Failing epically. I've wrote the entirety of one page. And I'm still stuck. I got more than my goal done on my scifi novel though, I'm not sure if that makes up for it or not. :?

Um, no, I haven't gotten it done yet.

But on the bright side, I've gotten more writing done on the one-shot than I have in many days... the last two days I got in about 600 words each. :) Right now I'm a little hung up on one characterisation; my co-writer understands the character tons better than I do, so we're working through it until I can understand the character enough to write.

Failed epically on all accounts. However, I've spent this week getting other things elsewhere cleaned up... so I'm not too unhappy, though those other writing things still need to get done.

Jaynin, I think you're fine. You've done a lot of progress on your sci-fi and had breakthroughs that needed to happen. I think it's fantastic!
