Not exactly a race...The Arcane Geckos have no understanding of their past. They hatch separately (except for two) and have nothing to go on but instinct to survive. They all have certain abilities and sentience to the highest degree for having no civilization. Because they know no history I'll just give you the characteristics of the six known members...

Pernoxnix: Essentially the spokes-lizard for the geckos. Probably has the largest lizard role in my story. Chameleon capabilities but on a higher level, practically invisible. Night vision eyes when he wants to. Pernoxnix is subtly outgoing; not speaking too much but speaking volumes when he does. Comfortable with the other reptiles but doesn't limit himself to them as allies. He is usually respected as a leader among them, being the most even keeled of the males. He has also made documented appearances in this world, though it is very hard to confirm when, where, and how many. He is a powerful influence to those who seek his advice because his answers are often unexpected.

Oops, bed, I'll post the rest tomorrow if I get a chance...

He's a little bit intimidating! Very cool concept.

How big is he? Can he speak English to humans?

He looks cool. I like the green eye. When he turns invisible, does he actually turn invisible or is that a metaphor for 'blending in perfectly with the background'?

invisible in that he becomes clear. So he casts no shadow or anything, and as long as his second eyelid is closed (so he can still see) and he doesn't open his mouth, he really can't be seen unless you're lucky to catch a ripple every now and again. And yes, I forgot to mention but their intelligence involves speech :) and his size was listed in with the picture.

Here's number two...

Lumevita: The black under the eyes works the same way as with falcons, to keep a glare off of the eyes when in bright light. Not too overly energetic, Lumevita is still the peacemaker of the crew. She's in no hurry to start something and walks at her own pace but at the same time can be quite lively but usually in a predictable way. Far slower to anger, but all the more deadly for when she is. Which is helpful when her brother Fulgar is being a pest. She is the elder, having hatched on a bright day while her brother waited until the storm that night to emerge. She can be bio-luminescent, and photosynthesize. Her pupils are usually black but she can focus her solar energy through them and burn things (like a laser but hard to see in day light). More so she uses her energy through her tongue to encourage the growth of plants.

Just for clarification...These are all similar sizes, like humans are?

What do you mean by the last sentence in the paragraph? Otherwise, nice description. Very cool. So she can probably go a long time without food since she can photosynthesize.

Cool! I like this, he seems very mysterious.
What does he eat? He looks quite scary! Love the green eyes! :)

Lumevita can channel her solar power through her tongue so she can basically help plants grow by licking them. They're all about the size (not including tail) of a large beagle. And they eat like reptiles, so because of their size, rather than insects, usually rats and other rodents.

Here's three:

Lakkerfax: Lakkerfax is a pyro, there are just times he can't resist the urge to let something burn. He seems outgoing enough but it's often hard to tell if he's being serious or kidding, angry or amused, especially when his smile is almost always a half smirk with a certain burn in his eyes. He is probably the most passionate of the lizards though in a different way than Fulgar and Stellwento. He manipulates fire. If he breathes, steps, or whips his tail just right flames can appear. You can tell he's inspired by a spark in his eyes.

He looks a tad evil. Very cool though.

That makes sense... about the licking thing.

Some of you may remember this guy from the chat thread lol

Stellwento: Stellwento tends to go wherever the wind blows. The life of the party, but social circle limited almost entirely to the reptiles. Best friend to Fulgar who is just about the only one in on his inside jokes. A bit proud, more than willing to show off, a real kamikaze in desperate situations. He can be as calm as he can be rough, virtually silent or roaringly noisy. His biggest defect is not knowing when he's gone too far. A character all his own with a strange obsession with seafood, Stellwento is a air and weather manipulator. He usually plays with air currents through his tail motions or whole body movements. He may be a bit of a pain but usually the first to forgive and forger when he's been wronged.

And his partner in kind...
Fulgar: Fulgar has a more insane personality, the kind that will do just about anything stupid for the attention, but with more of an air of attitude. He's also a bit of a prankster. Like all reptiles he can be serious when he has to be but you would never really know if he was listening with how easily he shakes things off. Fulgar is smart but rarely shows to be save for in brief moments or if involving a joke. He can control electricity. It's hard to say if he does so by any particular act or motion but particles around him seem to charge very easily.

And last but not least in my book... (lol npi)
Umectra: More of a cold shoulder type, usually introverted. Umectra seems to consider life a job, rather than a pleasure. Usually keeping emotions separate from the picture makes her more blunt than gentle. To counteract this she usually pretends it was purposeful to eliminate the assumption of any sort of failure. She gets in modes of either hardly talking or being rather conversational, once initiated. Rather confusing to most because she will talk one minute like she hates you then turn and save you from your worst enemy. Her abilities are centered on water. Primarily through state changes (i.e. solid, liquid gas). She could freeze a hot spring and boil the arctic ocean if she had to. Her actions are usually through her tongue or feet in these matters.

And that's the last of them! anybody have a favorite?

Once again I love them all! But I'm drawn to Fulgar; he sounds really cool!
