Weekly challenge: Write a minimum 1000 word short story based on this image and post it in the Fireside. Have fun!

As always...

The Rules wrote:
1. All challenges must be declared completed by midnight Saturday in your timezone (please specify your timezone when you sign up).
2. All challenges (personal or weekly) must be declared by midnight Monday in your timezone.
3. Personal challenges cannot be repeated.
4. The organizer reserves the right to veto any challenges that seem too simple. (i.e. writing a sentence)

If this is your first time on one of these quests, you'll need to see the initiation pamphlet.

Also, I would like to remind everyone that any weekly challenge pieces that are posted on the forum will be eligible to be featured in our newsletter. Please post a link in this thread if you would like it to be considered.

If you could write your sign-up post in a similar format to the following, it would be appreciated:
Goal: weekly challenge (or whatever you decide to do)
Timezone: PDT

Slay that dragon!

I'd like to do a personal challenge of 5k this week, but the rules state I can't repeat a challenge. So the next time I wanted to try 5k, I'd have to do 4999 instead?

I am confused.

Welcome to the challenge, Kessie! You can certainly do the same goal again next week. However, you cannot make writing 5K your goal and then write 10K and get double points for doing so. Does that make sense?

Ahh... Perfect picture for my story (except for book 8) I will put it in the Fireside, but it will contain spoilers.

Weekly Challenge.
Zone: UTC+8

Question. Can I write the weekly challenge in poetry?

Sorry it took me so long to get here.

I'm sorry, Blayne, but it needs to be a story. Maybe we can do the same thing with poetry next week, if people are interested...

Actually, a few days ago I realized how hard it was to write 1000 words for a poem, so I just decided to make someone sing part of it. Will it work that way?
